Start Writing Your Spider-Man 3 Raps, New Yorkers

Get ready, New York City: Soon you will be unable to escape the sticky gelatinous web that is the Spider-Man 3 promotional bombardment. The Big Apple is gearing up for what will be known as "Spider-Man Week in NYC," which will take place from April 30 to May 6 and include the first U.S. screening of the film at the Tribeca Film Festival.

You might be asking yourself, "What else does Spider-Man Week include?" Well, dear readers, Spider-Man Week will include a variety of far-reaching Spider-Man themed events, culminating at the Apollo Theater in Harlem where, according to the Spider-Man Week in NYC website, "Urban poets from the five boroughs will compose original raps about Spider-Man and his many adventures." The winner of the rap competition will receive a Sony TV.

But that's just one of the many unbelievable events taking place during Spidey's week, so to see the rest,

Just look at the assortment of events taking place during Spider-Man week in NYC:

A cast appearance on the Today Show, complete with marching bands and "web-slinger showdowns."
Superhero training classes at Crunch gyms.
Special offers for redheads at SuperCuts, in honor of Mary Jane.
"Web Swinging With Your Sweetheart" sessions at a trapeze school.
A pizza celebration day at more than 200 public middle schools across the city "in honor of Peter Parker’s short-lived stint as a pizza delivery boy."
Special Spidey-like rock-climbing ("wall-scaling") sessions at Chelsea Piers.
Spider-Man themed sightseeing tours.
Original comic book displays at the New York Public Library.
Green Goblin mask-making at the Children's Museum of Manhattan.
Spider-themed exhibits at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, The New York Botanical Garden, and the American Museum of Natural History.

Creatively, these promotions are certainly a step up from the marketing push for Spider-Man 2 in 2004, when Major League Baseball refused to put the Spider-Man 2 logos on the bases, claiming that doing so would detract from baseball fans' experience. But apparently, the New York experience is totally fair game.

Emma Stone got glamorous on the red carpet at the Met Gala in NYC tonight. She glowed in a Lanvin dress with a stunning updone hairstyle by Mara Roszak. Emma was solo at the event after spending the last few weeks in the Big Apple with boyfriend Andrew Garfield. He's busy working on his Broadway show Death of a Salesman, which put him in the running for a Tony Award. Andrew and Emma will be in front of the cameras together in the coming months though, since they're starting to promote The Amazing Spider-Man ahead of its July release. Emma did, though, have Lanvin's Alber Elbaz on her arm as they walked into the Met!

The pair has a few more weeks to spend in the Big Apple before embarking on a press tour ahead of The Amazing Spider-Man's July release. The movie has already been getting tons of buzz, including an OPI nail polish collection inspired by the onscreen couple.

Andrew and Emma have been spotted holding hands and laughing while walking through the city multiple times this week. They took a sweet stroll on Tuesday after it was announced that Andrew was nominated for a Tony for his role in Death of a Salesman. The cute couple has been spending time in the Big Apple during Andrew's Broadway stint in Death of a Salesman. Andrew just received a Tony nomination for the role, and the production was also recognized with a nod in the best revival of a play category. Emma recently hit the stage as well, performing a live reading of The Apartment with Paul Rudd and director Jason Reitman last week. The couple seems to be settled in NYC for now, but they'll soon be embarking on a press tour before The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters July 3.

The couple are back on the East Coast after a trip to Mexico last week to promote The Amazing Spider-Man. Emma and Andrew cozied up for the cameras when they weren't posing alongside costar Rhys Ifans and director Marc Webb. The movie hits theaters in July, but first Emma is participating in a live reading of The Apartment with Paul Rudd at the Times Center tonight. She attended a panel on The Amazing Spider-Man with director Marc Webb since leading man Andrew Garfield wasn't able to participate. He's in NYC performing in Death of a Salesman on Broadway. Andrew had plenty of support on opening night last week, including Emma, who was front row center in the audience.
