Actors Go Speechless to Support Writers

Negotiations in the writers' strike are resuming today, but for the moment, pencils are still down in Hollywood. What would a writerless TV and movie season look like? Several A-list actors are offering up their interpretations in a series of videos called Speechless.

The videos, which feature the cast of Ugly Betty, Harvey Keitel, Kate Beckinsale, Holly Hunter, David Schwimmer, and many more, premiered on the Deadline Hollywood Web site over the weekend and have now spread to various online video sites. Eleven have been posted so far, but there are many, many more to come.

The videos range from just a few seconds to several minutes long. Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy whistle in theirs, while Holly Hunter acts out a scene about the outsourcing of scripts to a call center in India. One of my favorites features David Schwimmer and Kate Beckinsale as a couple on the phone with nothing to say; another finds Laura Linney using Scene It cards as inspiration for a scene she decides to write herself. True Blood Bites: "And When I Die"

Wow. The season four finale of True Blood is slow going at first, but the final moments both knocked the wind out of me and left me speechless. Halloween comes to Bon Temps, and the holiday brings with it a whole slew of events that are a lot scarier than Arlene and Terry's zombie makeup. The residents are visited by plenty of blasts from the past (and the implication of yet another one), and by the end of the episode, a handful of major characters join the ranks of the dead.

I'm admittedly a bit irritated that there's no progress on the fairy front since we've been waiting all season long to see what that whole business in the premiere is about, but there's certainly plenty of setup for next year's stories. Glee-Ful Highlights From Episode "New York"

After a long season of wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin', the New Directions finally live out their dream to perform at Nationals in NYC on this week's episode of Glee. Their week in the Big Apple is full of expectations as each of the gleeks has their own ideas about how to experience New York. Of course, there's also the competition to prepare for, and - oops! - they haven't written their songs yet. (Um, seriously, Mr. Schue?)

Finn is still doing everything he can to get back into Rachel's good graces, but she's too distracted by the bright lights and big city. Meanwhile, Mr. Schuester has his own business to take care of: he has to decide once and for all if he's going to leave the club for Broadway. When we first saw Kate Middleton, now Princess Catherine, in her wedding gown, we were speechless at how beautifully the Sarah Burton-designed gown came out. Upon taking a closer look, we realized that the princess's dress resembled that of another iconic princess - Grace Kelly. It's easy to see why Kate would be inspired by the Princess of Monaco; her dress was classically gorgeous, sophisticated, and ladylike, without being too over the top. From the lace sleeves, to the form-fitting bodice, to the delicate veil, Kate's gown was a contemporary take on the late, great Grace's elegant style.

Jennifer Lopez added another accolade to her long list of honors today, as she was just crowned People's Most Beautiful Person of the Year! She admitted to working hard for the honor, saying, "The thing is, it's part of my job. . . . I don't want anybody thinking it's easy. It does take time and it's hard work. HDTV wide-screen is nobody's friend!" She added, "Rarely am I left speechless, but I feel honored." Rachel Zoe Chats Royal Style and Calls Kate Middleton "Flawless"

Rachel Zoe was all over LA this weekend hanging out with her two loves, Skyler and Rodger Berman. First she stepped out in Malibu on Saturday pushing Skyler's chic Missoni stroller while chatting alongside his nanny, and yesterday Rachel was joined by her husband at Jenni Kayne's Beverly Hills store. Today Rachel shifted her focus from family to the royals. Joined by her glam squad, Rachel dropped by GMA's LA studio for a predawn chat about Kate Middleton and Prince William's North American visit. The hot topic of conversation was fashion, and Rachel was almost speechless describing the "flawless" lilac Alexander McQueen gown Kate Middleton wore to Saturday's BAFTA Brits to Watch event. Rachel went on to compliment Kate Middleton's style and said the duchess is "making a mark in the fashion world" and "easing into" her fashion icon status. Heart beating 100 miles an hour, face, a stark white, I walked out of the conference room utterly confused. What I had thought was a great learning experience with a manager who was open to teaching me new things turned out to be an utter and complete lie. Is this what corporate life was like? If it was, I was in for the ride of my life.

Since my last post, I had been scouting, quietly researching and balancing a 40-hour work week in the midst of seeing how things unraveled with the return of “mystery girl.” Operations and my day-to-day tasks remained the same, but my heart was just not in the job anymore. One day as I was finishing up some last minute e-mails, a message popped up which worried me in the most dramatic of ways. My manager had simply typed a mere nine words which caused me to break out in a cold sweat, “ Please meet me in the conference room at 3.” My gut instinct predicted something not so pleasant would occur during this meeting, but my optimistic side hoped for otherwise.

Wow, I am speechless; fortunately, Dominic, leaver of this voicemail, is not. Too bad Ryan, the object of her intoxication, must not have been charmed by her drunken, three-minute voicemail. Otherwise, it wouldn't be all over the Internet! She even says where she works - eBay and Jamba Juice - and spells them both out like "J" is for juice. "U is for Eunice." You get the picture; now listen to the voicemail.

This is why there are apps to prevent drunk dialing! Can you top her?
