TV Preview: "Entourage" Season Three, Part Two

Is pining for Vince turning Ari into a softie? Is Vince's hot new female agent (Carla Gugino) making him act like a wuss? Will the practice of agency "flirting" give way to actual agent flirting? These are the big questions as HBO's "Entourage" starts up the second half of its third season this Sunday, April 8, at 10 P.M. EDT. At least with "Entourage," we know that getting those questions answered will be a blast. What is it about watching these guys that just makes me want to take shots of Patron and sit by the pool all day?

I got an early look at the first two episodes, and I can assure you that the series is still on top of its game. The episode airing this Sunday night is more of a welcome-back romp than a vehicle for plot development, but it's a good setup for what's to come. Ari Gold is on the verge of a rather unusual breakdown, Turtle and Drama are picking up chicks at the dog park, and Eric is still trying to strike a balance between Vince and Sloan.

Things really heat up in next Sunday's episode, though, when Vince realizes his new agent is impossible to ignore. Need a refresher? You can buy the first part of season three on DVD. Or, to watch the teaser for part two of season three,

Phillip Phillips Is America's New Idol

American Idol closed out its 11th season in LA tonight and crowned Phillip Phillips the winner! The two-hour season finale brought out some of music's biggest stars like Rihanna, Chaka Khan, John Fogerty, and Dream Girls legend Jennifer Holliday, who joined finalist Jessica Sanchez on stage for an unforgettable duet of "And I'm Telling You." The judges also got in on the action. Steven Tyler and Aerosmith performed a medley of songs while Jennifer Lopez flashed her abs in a studded bra and got the crowd on their feet with her latest dance track, "Follow the Leader." The evening was packed with exciting moments, including a marriage proposal. Former contestant Ace Young got down on one knee and popped the question to girlfriend, and Idol's season three runner-up, Diana DeGarmo.

Following the results and Phillips's emotional performance of his first single, "Home," he headed backstage to chat with press about his long road to tonight's finale, and how he's processing the win. Phillip said of his big win, "It's so unreal . . . it hasn't sunk in yet, it's just such a blessing to have." Phillip was humble talking about his own success, but Jessica was quick to compliment her competitor, saying, "When they announced it was Phillip I was so happy. I love him so much; he deserved it. He's been having to keep up with his health issues; he's been through a lot more than us, both mentally and physically." Season 11 was full of excitement for the contestants and the judges. However, we'll have to wait and see if J Lo returns for season 12.

American Idol: Who Deserves to Win Season 11?

It's been a long trek, American Idol watchers. Months after the initial search began, we've finally made it to finals week. If I feel this exhausted, then I can't imagine how finalists Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips feel, especially after the three performances they each had to rock before the last round of voting. As Jennifer Lopez noted tonight, our final two could not be more different. Jessica is a pint-sized ballad singer with a mean vocal range, but Phillip has an insane ability to take songs and turn them into his own wonderful Phillip Phillips brand.

Jessica started out the night with Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing," winning the judges' endorsement for the first round against Phillip's classic "Stand by Me." They were a little more split after the second round, when Jessica covered Celine Dion's "The Prayer" and Phillip did a little Billy Joel with "Movin' Out." Come the last round, Phillip scored the only standing ovation of the night after his rendition of "Home," and he deserved it. The marching band and soft vocals showed off Phillip's true artistry, and Jessica's unremarkable "Change Nothing" didn't stand a chance.

American Idol Gets Ready to Crown a Winner and to Possibly Say Goodbye to Jennifer Lopez

American Idol finalists Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips went out on a high note last night, with each hopeful singing their heart out for the judges, studio audience, and fans watching at home. Each contestant performed three songs, one chosen by the show's producer, Simon Fuller; one of their choice; and an original single they'll release should they win. Jessica kicked things off by belting out Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" followed by Celine Dion's "The Prayer," and she took her final turn on Idol singing her potential single, "Change Nothing." Phillip, who won the coin toss and chose to perform last, began his night with Ben E. King's "Stand by Me," followed it up with Billy Joel's "Movin' Out," and closed the show with his coronation song, "Home."

All eyes were on the finalists. However, Jennifer Lopez stole a moment of the spotlight in a sexy, asymmetrical see-through bodysuit. Jen will be back on the stage again tonight to perform her latest track, "Follow the Leader." It could be J Lo's final curtain call, as her future on the show is still undecided. Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery briefly spoke about J Lo's rumored departure from Idol, saying, "I'd hate to see her go. Whatever happens happens. She's got a lot going for her, so she'll be fine."

Summer officially arrives in less than a week but the Versace team is already thinking about next season. The brand just released its Fall/Winter 2012 campaign and although the clothes are technically for cooler weather, we wouldn't mind wearing them now. The über sexy Italian label isn't really big on covering up, so most of the pieces would probably work for a breezy May or June night. But since nothing hits stores for at least two or three months, we're happy to obsess over the pictures first.

The black and white images feature model Elza Luijendijk with a severe blonde bob, posing on chain-covered cement bricks with big moody photographs of the ocean in the background. The styling was clearly influenced by head designer Donatella; we could see her wearing every single look on the red carpet-especially that black mini dress with the knee-high boots.

When we first heard that crop tops (and more specifically, bralets) were going to be big for 2012, we had our reservations - it seemed like a look best suited for outdoor music festivals and costume parties - but after seeing the midriff-baring look on the runways at Dolce & Gabbana, Nina Ricci, Prada, and others, we inevitably changed our tune, and are officially smitten with the idea of unleashing our inner Kelly Kapowski. The trend is rooted in '50s-era screen sirens like Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, and Marilyn Monroe, but is also dripping with '90s nostalgia - calling to mind fashion-forward TV characters like Kelly Bundy, Donna Martin, and yes, Ms. Kapowski herself. If you're planning to try the trend this season, here are a few things to consider:

Find the right length for your body (and your confidence level). If you're proud of your tummy, don't be afraid to pick a piece that hits above the belly button. If you're less comfortable showing that much skin, you can still get in on the trend by opting for a top that bares just a sliver of your belly and comes in below your midriff.
Keep it sophisticated. Yes, this trend is inherently sexy and will veer on the side of flirtatious no matter what, but there are ways to go about it that will help you look more retro pinup than '80s video vixen. Wear your crop top with a high-waisted skirt (like we saw at Acne, Prada, and Emilio Pucci), or a navel-grazing pair of jeans or shorts (just see Preen and Proenza Schouler for stylish examples). You can also layer it up with a fitted blazer, sweet cardigan, or cool leather jacket. This will ensure that you keep things classy while staying on the sultry side of things.
Be prepared to turn heads. Whether you pair your bralet with hot pants or a maxi skirt, be forewarned: you will get attention - so be sure to throw your shoulders back and revel in it!

Sex and Hare Krishna: Mad Men's Mother Lakshmi Didn't Follow the Rules

This week on Mad Men, we get a visit from Paul Kinsey, who has gone from progressive, pipe-smoking copy editor to confused Hare Krishna devotee. The Hare Krishna movement was founded in NYC in 1966, the year that's coming to a close on this season, and attracted beatniks like Allen Ginsberg and Beatle George Harrison, one of its most famous followers. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, or the Hare Krishna Movement, as it is officially known, is based on Hindu traditions and got the attention of the city's hippies when it started. Ironically, it did not back free love.

On the episode, Paul Kinsey's Hare Krishna love interest, Mother Lakshmi, decides to seduce Paul's friend and former co-worker, Harry Crane. Showing up at the office, she lets Harry believe that sleeping together is not against the rules of the religion. You can't blame Harry for believing her, since the Hare Krishna meeting he attended had a strong counter-culture vibe. But in fact, "no illicit sex" is one of the four regulative principles of Hare Krishna consciousness.

Sexual contact is only OK between married couples for the purpose of reproduction, and sex is considered the most powerful connection to the material world, a bond Hare Krishnas want to break. The other three rules include: no eating meat, fish, or eggs, no gambling, and no use of intoxicants. Devoted Hare Krishnas would have disapproved of Roger Sterling's acid drop. But, of course, not everyone followed the rules in the '60s and high-profile members like Allen Ginsberg disagreed with the prohibitions.

Vegetarianism and yoga were part of what made Hare Krishna exotic back in the 1960s, while its negative attitudes toward premarital sex were conventional then. Today, things have switched around. Its rule against sex for pleasure seems extreme, thanks to the sexual revolution, while vegetarianism and yoga have gone mainstream.
