Emma Watson Gives Her Costar Johnny Simmons a Big Kiss!

Emma Watson wasn't afraid to indulge in PDA over the weekend in LA. She gave her Perks of Being a Wallflower costar, Johnny Simmons, a big kiss before lunch in Santa Monica Saturday. Emma and Johnny were seen on a walk together earlier this year shortly after meeting on their film's set in Pennsylvania. Sparks must have started flying then between Emma and Johnny, a 24-year-old actor who was raised in Texas. His movie with Emma isn't the first time he's been on the big screen - Johnny's also starred in pictures like Evan Almighty, Hotel For Dogs, Jennifer's Body, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. It was a big weekend all around for Emma. She didn't step out for the Teen Choice Awards, but Harry Potter nonetheless won big. Harry Potter received seven honors at the ceremony, and Rupert Grint and Tom Felton were on hand to accept the prizes.

Tom Hits NYC With Katie and Possibly Preps For a Les Grossman Movie

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes stuck together this afternoon to pick up treats at the ready-for-Spring Magnolia Bakery in NYC. It's one of the couples favorite Big Apple spots, along with the Serendipity sweets shop where Suri found her "penis gummies." The Cruise family is in between projects at the moment, as Tom recently wrapped up Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and Katie just did promotional work for her The Kennedys miniseries. Tom's also got the Rock of Ages movie coming up, and his friend Bill Hader revealed that a movie based on Tropic Thunder's Les Grossman is in the still in the works after it was green-lighted last June. The script has already been written by Scott Pilgrim vs. the World's Michael Bacall, though Tom has to find free time in his busy schedule to commit to the movie fully.

Captain America: Red, White, and Surprisingly Emotional

Chris Evans is no stranger to playing characters with superpowers, playing a cocky Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four franchise, and arrogant Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but his turn as the leading man in Captain America: The First Avenger is decidedly more endearing. Set against the backdrop of World War II, where men from all across America are lining up to serve their country, Brooklynite Steve Rogers is rejected from enlisting in the Army again and again due to his tiny stature and long list of physical ailments. Steve has lots of problems: asthma, social anxiety, and a tendency of getting beat down by bullies because he stands up for common decency. Thankfully, these same characteristics are what get him drafted into a secret government project called the Strategic Scientific Reserve run by Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci), and assisted by the technological genius of Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) that will turn ordinary humans into super soldiers to fight Hitler's army.

The plot also centers around Johann Schmidt, the leader in Hitler's own scientific project called Hydra, who is tasked with obtaining an artifact called the "jewel of Odin's treasure room," which will undoubtedly give a wartime advantage to the Germans. As it turns out, Johann was actually the failed first test subject for Dr. Erskine's super solder project, and once he learns that the American project has been successful, he gets a giant chip on his shoulder and breaks off from Hitler to turn Hydra into an army dedicated to destroying the world with the power of the gods he now possesses.

Chris Evans Talks About Why He Almost Turned Down the Captain America Job

Captain America star Chris Evans is no stranger to comic-book movies, having already appeared in The Fantastic Four and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. However, Chris admitted at a recent junket for the new movie in Beverly Hills that he repeatedly turned down his latest role. Chris does double-duty in the film, playing scrawny, 90-pound recruit Steve Rogers as well as buff war hero Captain America, the man Steve becomes after signing up for a transformative military experiment. During the interview, Chris talked about how he whipped himself into shape to play one of Marvel's classic characters and his past as a tap-dancing theater geek. Here are highlights:

On why he initially turned down the role: "The two main reasons I was apprehensive were, one, the commitment. It started out as a nine-picture commitment and it dropped down to six. If all of a sudden my passion changed, if I wanted to write or direct, or leave the career - go live in the mountains, get married, have kids, lead a normal life - you can't. And I guess I just wasn't 100 percent positive that my end game was to be a gigantic movie star. The second part was just about the lifestyle change. I can still go to a ball game and I can still go to the grocery store and lead a pretty normal life. There's a difference between dealing with [fame] sometimes, dealing with it most of the time, and dealing with it all the time. All the time is something you can't conceptualize until it happens, and once you're there, you can't turn it off. There's no rewind."
On why he finally said yes: "I was not doing the movie because it was terrifying to me. I do believe you can't make decisions based on fear. I think that's a big mistake, and I think you'll end up regretting a lot more of the things you don't do than the things you did. And then it kept coming back, and I kept talking to more friends and family about what I should do. I had some really good friends of mine who said, 'You know, Chris, if you are scared of something then you should push yourself right into it, for better or worse. No life obstacle is more clear-cut than this.' And I just did a 180. All of a sudden it made perfect sense that this is exactly what I wanted to do."
On whether he relates more to Steve Rogers or Captain America: "I grew up doing theater! I grew up, half my life, in tights and tap shoes. You gotta see pictures of me from birth to 18. I mean, it's a sight. It was a bumpy road for me growing up, and I was a very skinny guy. I went to acting camp, you know? That'll give you an idea of where I'm coming from."

Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Tons of Funny People Line Up For Hand Job

What if NBC's Thursday night comedy block had a baby with Saturday Night Live? You'd get the movie Hand Job, a comedy written and directed by Bill Hader's wife, Maggie Carey, that's quickly assembling a cast that includes so many of my favorite funny people. Community's Donald Glover and Andy Samberg have just signed on to appear in the movie, along with Hader and Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza, who has the lead role.

Plaza plays a Type A high school senior who worries that she hasn't had enough sexual experience before going away to college, so she sets out to get some (pardon the pun). Also lending support to an already amazing cast are Alia Shawkat, Connie Britton, and Plaza's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World costars Mae Whitman and Johnny Simmons. I'm already totally seduced by the idea of this movie, in part because it's usually guys who are trying to pawn off their virginities (e.g. Superbad). My only qualm: can Plaza, who usually shines as a supporting character, handle a leading role?
