Both of Fox's mega-hit reality competitions, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, have capable hosts at the helm.
Ryan Seacrest is a pro at steering a live broadcast and keeping the Idol judges panel on track. He sometimes veers into the lame joke territory, but mostly it's good fun.

So far, most of what Ryan Seacrest has touched has turned to entertainment gold — but will that be the case for Momma's Boys? The Seacrest-produced reality show, which is basically The Bachelor if the guys' moms were in the house, too, starts airing Dec. 16.

NBC might have made most of its big programming announcements early, but that doesn't mean the network is staying out of the spotlight entirely at this year's upfronts. Today, the network announced it will team with Ryan Seacrest for a dating show called Momma's Boys, in which a group of mothers will attempt to choose the appropriate mates for their eligible-bachelor sons.
According to NBC, the show will pose the ultimate question: "Who is really the most important woman in every man's life?"

It has been rumored that Denise Richards would get her own reality TV show for a while now, most notably back when Charlie Sheen was fighting her in court to prevent her from putting their kids on television. Well, apparently she won that battle because the reality show will move forward on E!, with Ryan Seacrest producing.
The show "will focus on Richards' life as a single mom (and tabloid staple) following her high-profile divorce."

The 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards are officially underway! We heard rumors that host Ryan Seacrest might be performing a little song-and-dance routine, but so far, the only singing on stage has come from the animated cast of "Family Guy." Still, all eyes will be on Seacrest tonight to see how he makes the transition from hosting "American Idol" to hosting the Emmys.

I think it's safe to assume these days that if there's an event on Fox, Ryan Seacrest will be hosting it. Fox announced today that Seacrest will be the host of September's Primetime Emmy Awards. The news came just days after Fox tapped Seacrest as the "entertainment host" for the Super Bowl in February.

Seacrest, you've been silenced! Super-hostess Ellen DeGeneres will lend her talents to "Idol Gives Back," this week's special "American Idol" charity episode. Granted, it seems like a bit of an odd step for her after the Oscars — what's next?

Why is Ryan Seacrest famous? No, really. Why is this short man with the funny haircut and the cheesy smile hosting the most-watched TV show in America, doing red carpet coverage at Hollywood's biggest events and generally making his presence inescapable?
