HBO's movie Recount is on tonight at 9 p.m.! Is it watchable? Heck yes! Liberty, Buzz, and I watched it (at my house - I concocted a drink called a "Hanging Chad" - let's just say it wasn't any more palatable than the original.) Want to know what we thought before you commit to two hours? Here you go!

Will Liberty and Citizen have it out over Warren Christopher? Will Buzz strangle them for not stopping talking the entire movie? To find out,

To watch or not to watch? I'd vote for it. It's a well-done movie that will - mark my words - be up for awards when the time comes. Plus it's, you know, important and stuff.

Who Wants to Watch HBO's Recount With Me?

Everyone I've heard talk about the upcoming HBO movie Recount about the aftermath of the 2000 election has loved it, including and not limited to Slate's John Dickerson who's the non-grumpy man on my beloved Slate Political Gabfest.

So I'm hotly, hotly anticipating this flick. It stars Laura Dern as Katherine Harris, and Tom Wilkinson as James Baker - Kevin Spacey, Ed Begley Jr. and Denis Leary star as well.

"This is a street fight for the presidency of the United States." Hot. I know it was real, with all kinds of historical ramifications. . .but it seems like a great movie too? Can it be both?

It airs Sunday, May 25 at 9 p.m. I'm sending out a little butterfly ballot of my own - I'm thinking of throwing a little virtual viewing party. . . complete with "Hanging Chad" cocktails - who's in?

Tomorrow Chaka Khan will release her first album in ten years, Billboard reports.
The Hollywood Reporter writes about a study that shows the number of gay characters on primetime TV has dropped for the third year in a row.
Justin Timberlake led the MTV Europe Music Awards nominations, People reports.
Hollywood Reporter has news that Ben Kingsley will play William Shakespeare in Will, a movie about the playwright's deathbed meeting with his lawyer to discuss his last will and testament.
Kevin Spacey, Laura Dern and Denis Leary headline the all-star cast for "Recount," HBO's movie about the 2000 presidential election, Variety reports.
Variety reports that "Sex and the City" writer Cindy Chupack will co-write a romantic comedy series for NBC.

"Gossip Girl" will premiere earlier than originally planned, Zap2it reports, getting a boost by following the season premiere of "America's Next Top Model" on Sept. 19.
Singer-songwriter Lee Hazlewood, best known for writing "These Boots are Made for Walking," has died at 78, Billboard reports.
Four presidential candidates will visit "The Daily Show" in the next three weeks as Indecision 2008 kicks into high gear, Variety writes.
Cat Power is planning a second album of covers, to be released in January, NME reports.
"America's Got Talent" and "Last Comic Standing" both will be back next year, and the Futon Critic has the details.
Sydney Pollack won't direct the HBO movie Recount because of health problems, writes the Hollywood Reporter; Jay Roach of the Austin Powers movies will direct instead.
Fox has bought a concept drama called "The Oaks" about three generations of families living in the same haunted house, writes the Hollywood Reporter, while Variety reports that CBS is planning a medical drama and a comedy about a couple vacationing with their in-laws.

Bachelorette Breakdown: The Week's Biggest Whoa!-ments

Week two on The Bachelorette brought plenty of action, and I'm not just talking about the chemistry between Emily and Kermit - though that was slightly uncomfortable. No, I'm referring to the first one-on-one dates, the first group date, and all the poolside drama. It looks like we've got a veritable Real Housewives of Charlotte on our hands, only in this case the housewives are men and Botox is replaced by Muscle Milk.

I'm recounting the good times, and the especially bad times, from this week's episode when you

When Emily told Ryan they'd be baking cookies for her daughter's soccer team on the show's first one-on-one date, I was like, Whoa. No doubt this guy thought the only food preparation he'd have to do on The Bachelorette would be stomping his own grapes when producers flew him and his date to the scenic Napa Valley, and even then it would all just be for show and they'd get to drink perfectly aged Merlot by the fire while staring into each other's eyes. Not this season, buddy!
When Ricki showed up in the audience of the group date, I was like, Whoa! Wasn't the whole purpose of bringing the show to Charlotte so that Emily could still maintain some semblance of normalcy in her daughter's life? First she brings Ryan to soccer practice (but makes him wait in the car mere yards away from her daughter) and now this? (Side note: I kept thinking they should have rolled up the tinted window, lest Ricki see the strange man in her mother's car, but then it occurred to me that he might suffocate in the South Carolina heat.) Actually, come to think of it, watching your mom be the ringleader in a variety show starring the Muppets and a dozen suitors (one of which will be your new daddy!) is pretty commonplace nowadays.
Whilst lounging in the hot tub, Kalon let slip that he thought Doug "put being a dad on hold" to be on the show, and Doug was all, Whoa. Despite the fact that Kalon is coming off like a tool and clearly making no friends, Doug overreacted a touch and told him to "check it," but in a much more serious way. Kalon tried to interject, and again Doug was like, "Check it." I believe the phrase he's looking for is actually "Check yourself before you wreck yourself, bro." It also appears that Kalon is no longer "Helicopter Guy" and has now been given the nickname "Chopper," which the guys think is derogatory, but which is actually really cool and something I might try to get my friends to call me.
Meanwhile, Emily went on her date with Joe. The two dined at her local cotillion venue and put their hopes and dreams in the "love clock." After laying out his wishes to come back to Charlotte to marry her, Emily told Joe he wasn't the guy for her, and Joe was like, Whoa. It was brutal, but it was necessary.
After the loads of private time he got with her this week, Ryan still thought it would be kosher to monopolize Emily's time before the final elimination. He did this by writing her a seven-page letter and then making her read it to him out loud. It took 15 minutes, which is about two weeks in Bachelorette hours. This wouldn't be quite so bad if Taylor wasn't awkwardly waiting in the wings, caught in the unfortunate position of either backing down or breaking mid-letter-read. All the guys who were watching from outside were like, Whoa.

According to reports, Lauren Conrad's dating William Tell, an LA-based law student at the University of Southern California. The out-of-town trip came following a busy week for Lauren. Lauren shared her schedule on her personal blog, recounting how the last few days have been full of work. She shot the holiday lookbook for her Paper Crown line, and even started Bikini Boot Camp! Lauren still managed to fit in some fun with friends and hours catching up on sleep.
