The story being told in
Agora is so interesting, it would be a shame if the movie itself turns out to be lame, but so far I feel kind of lukewarm about the trailer. The film
is set in Roman Egypt in the fourth century A.D. and stars Rachel Weisz as "astrologer-philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria, who fights to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world. Her slave Davus ([Max] Minghella) is torn between his love for his mistress and the possibility of gaining his freedom by joining the rising tide of Christianity."

I really like Amenábar and Rachel Weisz so I have hopes for this movie too.
1I love Rachel and I love this sort of period piece, but the trailer isn't amazing me either. I'll probably see it though.
2Will watch the trailer soon. I love Rachel and ancient Rome, so I will try to see this
3I don't like Rachel Weisz. She's another beige, boring actress that hollywood is forcing down our throats.
4however I did a project on person like Hypatia in middle school, and would be interested in seeing an actual film about her.
hmmm....the story is interesting. the trailer makes the movie seem so slow.
