Louise Roe predicts Fall 2010’s top trends will fall into two categories: feminine or futuristic. In one camp, designers like Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, and Monique Lhuillier are taking cues from Old Hollywood silhouettes as seen on the red carpet from celebrities like An Education’s Carey Mulligan and Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks. In the other camp, fashion-forward thinkers Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Yigal Azrouël and Project Runway winners Christian Siriano and Irina Shabayeva are taking a more avant-garde, Avatar-inspired take on what’s to come.

The sixth season of Project Runway, punctuated by a network change and a long lawsuit, wrapped up this week, and the winner was finally announced. And I really mean finally - the collections were actually shown way back in February.

Last week, the majority of you predicted that Carol Hannah would take home the honors. Of course, she didn't win, though I did love her collection. It was Irina and her urban lady-warrior collection that took home the title in the end. Althea was complimented for her sportswear, Carol Hannah wowed with beautiful draping, but neither bested Irina.

Do you agree with the judges and Irina's win, or do you think it should have been Carol Hannah or Althea?

Project Runway Rundown: Episode 14, "Finale, Part 2"

All good things must come to an end, and last night that good thing was Project Runway season four. I'm certainly going to miss its bevy of crying fits, crazy hats, cackles, and fierceness. And while it may not have been the most dynamic season in terms of drama (really, I blame Jillian), the designers certainly had talent - as we saw during last night's runway presentation showcasing the final three designers.

After last week's showdown between Chris and Rami, Rami proved victorious and joined Jillian and Christian in the top three. I was sad to see Chris go, but I think Rami truly was on a similar playing field as Jillian and Christian. And, as Torrance Shipman says in Bring It On, "I define being the best as competing against the best there is out there and beating them." I couldn't agree more - and I absolutely think these three were the best of the season, so the winner truly had to bring it!

Before we get to the runway rundown, let's discuss the drama, or lack thereof, that happened beforehand. Really, there was the least amount of drama in Project Runway finale history. Season one had the Kara Saun shoe debacle, not to mention the Wendy Pepper feud. Season two had Santino Rice ('nuff said) and the surprise 13th look. And in season three, Jeffrey was accused of not sewing his own garments. Nothing especially exciting happened in last night's episode prior to the runway shows. In fact, it was pretty run-of-the-mill. Tim Gunn critiqued each of the designers and chatted about his or her collection. He was a little worried about the cohesiveness of Jillian's collection, and the over-designed aspect of Christian's collection, but he didn't have any criticism for Rami (that we saw, anyway).

If there was one iota of drama, it was with Jillian and her casting. She complained that she had never done it before and therefore ended up with models who lacked a consistent look. She tried to switch some girls out the day before the runway show but wasn't allowed to. Big deal. I preferred Christian's model interaction. I loved when his model was complaining about the shoes and he said "I worked it around my apartment in those shoes for like a week, and if I can do it these ladies can do it." Fierce.

As for the runway, the big news was that Victoria Beckham was the guest judge. The bigger news was that she actually smiled. Shock. Onto the collections . . .

Jillian: Jillian's collection was inspired by the last challenge at the Met, specifically around a theme of 15th century armor. That being said, her pieces were definitely current and, typical for Jillian, very wearable. The judges thought that her collection looked feminine and modern, but a little disjointed. I loved her collection, but I agreed that there was a lack of cohesion. Close but no cigar, Jillian's out. Although I'd buy that coat her ProjRun model was wearing in a second.

Rami: Rami's collection was inspired by Joan of Arc. Heidi loved his collection, especially all of the weaving that he did. Michael Kors agreed with the woven comment, but didn't love some of his "Brady Bunch" colors. I thought his collection was strong, as all of the designers' collections were, but just as Michael said, something about the bright pink, teal, and brown seemed a bit off. Also, I was missing his drapery - and who ever thought I'd say that? Nina said Rami's strength is in evening wear, and there wasn't enough of that. Not quite good enough, Rami.

Christian: Christian said of his collection that he wanted to create something hard and soft (did that remind anyone else of the end of this Ali G fashion show sketch?). And that's about all he could say. He was so nervous, which was so not like him! At one point, I actually thought he was going to vomit on Rami's shoes. His collection definitely had an editorial edge plus that wow factor on the runway. Victoria loved it, saying it was very much in her taste and style. She even called Christian "maja." I think major = fierce squared. Michael, Nina, and Heidi all agreed that Christian has a flair for chic drama. His only major criticism was that his palette had too much black. In the end, Christian went on to become the youngest winner of Project Runway. In all honesty, Christian's show gave me the chills, and I was rooting for him, so bravo, Ferocia. Bravo.

Mondo Guerra Takes Home the Project Runway All Stars Win - See All of His Runway Looks!

Last night's finale of Project Runway All Stars crowned talented and quirky designer Mondo Guerra as the winner of the show. The designer showed a six-piece collection, wowing the judges with his workmanship, knack for color, and mixing fabrics. So just what does Mondo have in store next? "I plan to stay in Denver as long as I can and do my own collection," Mondo told WWD. "I want it to be all about me just like [John] Galliano is all about Galliano. I was compared to him in season eight. Don't you remember? Michael Kors said so. I know it's a reality show, but I feel I have the chops to do it." As the winner, Mondo's prize includes a spread in Marie Claire magazine, a cash prize of $100,000 from L'Oréal Paris, and space to sell his fashion at Neiman Marcus stores across the US. With just four months of sewing experience before starting the show, not many would have predicted Anya Ayoung-Chee - check out her awesome short 'do - as the winner of this season's Project Runway. After catching the judges attention with her resort-inspired prints, the former Miss Trinidad and Tobago swept the competition in the final round with her sexy, fluid collection. The designer, who already has celebrities calling her to design some custom clothes, took time out to talk to us about her whirlwind experience, personal style, and future design plans. Listen up!

FabSugar: How did you celebrate after winning the competition?
Anya Ayoung-Chee: I slept a bit because we haven't slept in a while. My parents were in New York, and it was really special to have them there and enjoy it with them. Knowing they were so proud of me was my biggest reward.

FS: Give us three words that describes your style.
AA: Sexy, easy, and island style. It's an island vibe. Those three words describe the resort genre I'm in, but I am hoping to branch out and cater to a bigger market now that I am in the US.

She wasn't the only star to don a dress by the designer; Sarah Hyland also wore a custom creation from the Project Runway winner. Heidi was joined by her husband Seal, who made his own statement in a barely buttoned shirt and suit. Project Runway is up for outstanding reality show and Heidi just returned from NYC, where she hosted the final runway show for the series current season during Fashion Week. Cat Deeley Sparkles in a Strapless Monique Lhuillier at the Emmys!

So You Think You Can Dance's Cat Deeley stepped out onto the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in LA tonight wearing a metallic Monique Lhuillier gown. Cat tweeted, "We're never going to win. . . But definitely intend to have a bloody good time." She's already lived up to her promise! Cat kicked off the festivities earlier today from her hotel room and popped open a bottle of Dom Perignon while getting ready with her hair and makeup team. Her competitive dance show is up against The Amazing Race, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway, and Top Chef in the outstanding reality show category. It's a tough field of competitors, and even if the show doesn't go home a winner, Cat's still in the running for best dressed - don't forget to vote in our love it or hate it fashion and beauty polls!

Christian Siriano Spring 2012

With Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Elle's Joe Zee in the front row, former Project Runway winner Christian Siriano sent out his strongest collection to date, one that balanced his flair for dramatic dresses with easy, seriously wearable separates. Yes, there were frothy cocktail dresses and massive, tulle-laden gowns made for the red carpet. But the pleasant surprise came via sleek silk maxi skirts paired with t-shirts, and cropped silk pants with cape blouses. Done in brilliant color pairings like acid green and peach, it was impactful but subtle. With a covetable line of shoes for retail giant Payless (see the latest in the slideshow), it's clear Siriano is no flash in the pan, and this latest collection suggests his best work is yet to come.

Trends: Maxi skirts, tulle, long layering.

Heidi Klum Joins Her Project Runway Judges For the Fashion Week Finale Show

Heidi Klum had her front-row seat at the Project Runway fashion show in NYC this morning. The reality host joined Michael Kors and Nina Garcia for the presentation, which is the final challenge to determine this season's winner. The episode will feature guest judges Rachel Roy and Rose Byrne after Jessica Simpson had the honor last season. Heidi, Michael, and Nina headed off afterward to make the official decision, though they got held up when their car was pulled over by the NYPD. Malin Akerman and Jennifer Love Hewitt were in the audience today with Michael and Heidi, who were both busy yesterday as well with Fashion's Night Out fun. Heidi participated by debuting her Wildlife jewelry collection during a live QVC broadcast, while Michael worked on his high kick with the Rockettes.
