The sixth season of Project Runway, punctuated by a network change and a long lawsuit, wrapped up this week, and the winner was finally announced. And I really mean finally — the collections were actually shown way back in February.
Last week, the majority of you predicted that Carol Hannah would take home the honors.

All good things must come to an end, and last night that good thing was Project Runway season four. I'm certainly going to miss its bevy of crying fits, crazy hats, cackles, and fierceness. And while it may not have been the most dynamic season in terms of drama (really, I blame Jillian), the designers certainly had talent — as we saw during last night's runway presentation showcasing the final three designers.

Michael Kors disappeared from the judges panel on this week's Project Runway, so season two alum Nick Verreos and actress Kerry Washington took his place. The challenge was to craft a companion look for each contestant's best look (not winning look, sadly, because Logan hadn't won a challenge). The winner and loser didn't necessarily surprise me, but the whininess of Althea and Irina irritated me to no end.

This week's challenge on Project Runway put the contestants to the test of recycling a wedding dress from women who were divorced (by the way, did Tim Gunn repeatedly referring to the women as divorcees just seem so very . . .

This week's Project Runway brought on a legendary stage costume designer who loves to use sequins and glitz (Bob Mackie) and a star who loves to wear them (Christina Aguilera). It also marked the triumphant return of Nina Garcia on the judging panel, who's been mostly absent this season. Her judging and critique are such a comfort to hear (and I would have paid Tim Gunn to tell someone "Don't bore Nina!").

The challenge was all about blue on last night's Project Runway. The remaining designers were teamed up in groups of two to create a pair of blue looks for Macy's Ink — so the real challenge was about being commercial friendly — and the winner gets to design a dress for the actual line. Everything being variations on the same shade made for an even playing ground for the contestants, unlike last week's all-over-the-map movie genre challenge.

This week Project Runway embraced its new LA surroundings with a movie genre-themed challenge. From sci-fi to period pieces to film noir, the designers each have to embrace a type of film in their design. John Varvatos, Zoe Glassner, and costume designer Arianne Phillips are the guest judges alongside Heidi in her sequin leggings.

- In case you haven't heard, a little movie called New Moon came out this week. I showed you where you can find them next, and I gave you my review of the movie, quizzed you on the book, as well as an exclusive interview with Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.
- Robert Pattinson continues to make non-Twilight waves at the movies: the trailer for his drama Remember Me debuted, and news that Uma Thurman has been cast as his love interest in Bel Ami surfaced.
- This week was a trailer treasure trove: there was Nicholas Sparks adaptation and Miley Cyrus vehicle The Last Song, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bridge's surefire Oscar bait Crazy Heart, and Edward Norton taking on a dual role in Leaves of Grass.
- At least you'll save on tissues: Oprah announced that her talk show will go off the air in 2011.
- I interviewed some of the funniest men in prime time: Eric Stonestreet gave me the scoop on Modern Family, while Joel McHale and Ken Jeong bantered about Community.
- The reality TV winners were crowned! Irina ruled Project Runway, and Nicole is America's Next Top Model.
- The holidays are here!

This week's episode of Project Runway was the first installment in the sixth season's finale, which means that we got to jet around with Tim Gunn to see the final contestants at home, working on their collections. Next week, we'll see the fruits of their labor strutting down the catwalk in Bryant Park, completing Lifetime's first season with the reality show. The winner — of Irina, Althea, or Carol Hannah — will also be crowned.

Project Runway guest judge Milla Jovovich teared up at the end of this week's episode when the losing contestant was eliminated, and it was just one of the many bright spots of this week's destination-as-inspiration challenge. For one thing, Micheal Kors and Nina Garcia were up on the judging panel together, at the same time! I wasn't really blown away by the winner's look, but the losing outfit — and its maker — were more than ready to get the boot, in my opinion.
