What Do You Think About a Phantom of the Opera, Part II?

According to Wikipedia, The Phantom of the Opera's 20-year run on Broadway has been "the most lucrative entertainment enterprise of all time." Capitalizing on the beloved musical's major success, creators of the award-winning show now say a sequel is on the way.

Andrew Lloyd Webber confirmed that he has written a new score for a follow-up musical which will pick up where the first story leaves off, starting with "how the Phantom got away in the big fire and was taken to a thriving Coney Island in old New York."

Will it be called The Phantom of Coney Island? And will fans embrace this second installment from Webber? What do you think about this development? Are you keeping an open mind?

Opera Garnier's L'Opera Restaurant Blends Modern Design With Historical Architecture

Architecture firm Odile Decq Benoit Cornette recently finished Paris's Opera Garnier L'Opera restaurant, which is rumored to be the toughest reservation in the city. The restaurant, a beautifully designed, sleek space, occupies a mezzanine level and the ground floor at Opera Garnier, both of which create a sense of undulating movement, thanks to the curvaceous seating areas and architecture created by Odile Decq Benoit Cornette.

The Gifted Man Cast Talks Science, Faith, and Patrick Wilson's Own Gifts

This Fall, Patrick Wilson will be the face of one of CBS's new dramas, A Gifted Man. He plays a hotshot neurosurgeon who starts to rethink his arrogance when he begins seeing visions of his deceased ex-wife, played by Jennifer Ehle. Wilson and Ehle were both on hand to promote their show at the Summer TCA this week, talking about Wilson's musical talents and beyond. Here are highlights:

Producer Neal Baer was quick to point out that Ehle's character, Anna, isn't definitely a ghost, referring to her as "a ghost or whatever she is," and later quipping, "She's no angel."
On the show, Anna ran a clinic for the uninsured during her life, which will play a big role on the show. As Wilson's character, Mike, works in a fancy shmancy practice, the juxtaposition between the two environments will be one at the forefront of the series and a contrasting force between the two models of medicine.
Another big theme of the show will be the contrast between Mike being a "man of science" vs. a "man of faith." Wilson said that he loves playing a character who refuses to believe in ghosts or magic, and thus thinks he's going insane when he starts seeing Anna. He added "I want to play it as weird as it would be" and "that constant struggle will continue to be explored."
Wilson said he's excited about the show's Friday night time slot because it provides some "room to play" instead of worrying about completing against other shows. He also cited the show's NY location as one of the big draws, since he gets to go home each night and spend time with his family.
Wilson, who has showed his musical talents on stage and in movies like The Phantom of the Opera gets to show off his piano-playing skills in the pilot (which was originally not in the script). Baer joked that he'd love to show off more of Wilson's musical background, saying, "You all know he can sing and dance, so we'll have to give him some neurological case where a person can't stop dancing."

A girlfriend of mine recently shared with me one of the worst online dating experiences I've ever heard. After chatting with the guy for two weeks online and over the phone, things started to smell fishy close to their planned first date (which she ran out of before it even began). She has allowed me to share her nightmarish story in hopes that you will learn from her mistakes, the biggest of which was missing the warning signs prior to meeting. So straight from her lips I give you eight online dating red flags to look out for before the first date.

Job white lies: The night before their first date the guy asked my friend to be Facebook friends, and something didn't quite match up when it came to where he worked. "He talked about how how he is financially secure and loves his job, and the first status I see, I am not kidding, is 'It's Fourth of July . . . no job and I have $37 to my name . . . what should I do?'"
Outdated photos: She also realizes his online dating photos weren't what they seemed. "He tells me about how he only puts recent pics up because he doesn't ever want to feel like he is sending the wrong message out to people. I look at his pictures and the 'recent pics' on the dating site were from 2006, the first FB photos he put up."
Suspicious photos: Also on Facebook: "His pictures only showed half his face . . . every pic. Like, Phantom of Opera status!"
Cheap date: There's a difference between financially savvy and just plain rude. "We were trying to plan where we want to meet up and he's like, 'I have like $12 to free movie tickets I won at a picnic like four years ago . . . might as well use those.'
Passing on alcohol: I don't know which would be worse: drinking too much on the first date, or not drinking at all so you can "save up" for the weekend. "I was like, 'I was thinking of meeting up for a margarita or coffee?' and he's like, 'Well, I don't drink coffee . . . and I am planning on drinking a lot this weekend . . . so I'll just get juice or something.'"
Sketchy past experiences: If his past dating stories make you cringe, you probably should stay away. "He was telling me about how the dating site had been for him in the past and he was like, 'The past couple dates I had I took the girls to Applebee's and they totally wanted to have sex with me. It was weird, like I'm not a prude, but girls need to calm down. They were major skankopotimisses!'"
Derogatory jokes: "Then I am scrolling down his wall and I see comments from friends about fat girls, like really horrible mean things. And he was like, 'Oh I can explain that, it's a pretty long story. One time my buddies and I were hanging out, and this fat girl came and asked me for my number and all my friends made fun of me. That's the basic gist of it.'"
Crappy car: "So we meet for coffee and I hear this old, old, old, old, old impala clunking down the road, smoking under the hood, and it's HIM and the car stalls in the middle of the street! I literally ran away. I didn't even wait to talk to him!"
