May 19 2009 - 12:00pm This week's season finale of Gossip Girl is everything I've come to expect from this show in terms of the way it ties up loose ends. It ties them, and then it unties them, and then it ties them again. All in an hour.
I thought the majority of the episode was slow and dragging. But the last scene made it all worth it. I am sooooo happy about Chuck and Blair, LOVED IT. Definitely think Jenny dresses/looks
like she hasn't slept and had one too many. My friends and I thought Nelly Yuki could be Gossip Girl as well. Seems to make sense...or mind games at their best. Cannot wait to see the
disastrous pairing of Blair and Georgina as roommates, NYU will never be the same!
Serena's mission to find Gossip Girl was so stupid. (Sidenote: I really wish Blake Lively would enunciate instead of clinching her jaws when she talks.) The whole premise was ridiculous -
I've never thought of that group as being a close one, but now all of the sudden, Serena wants to try to "band together" (seriously, I grimaced when she said that) to stop Gossip Girl?
Please! Why now? Why not any of the other 200 times she's posted stuff about them? Because, truly, it's insignificant.
I winced - a lot - during this episode. Chuck and Blair's rendevous was so awkward (all I could think was, "she's supposed to be 18 & is far less inhibited than I am!)! And then their
reunion at the end! They have horrible chemistry when they're not being snarky...those kisses were painful to watch. And I don't buy Chuck as the doting boyfriend for one second. They're
better when they're passive aggressively trying to win each other over.
And I agree with you about Jenny's ensemble. Though I did think the fact that the girls accessorized their graduation caps and gowns was hilarious. OH, and that Serena was too cool to
actually wear the cap. She pinned her tassel into her hair.
well - there was a LOT going on - that's for sure.
i have to agree that i still think that it's nelly yuki - that's too easy of a connection to make in my opinion.
as for the whole half brother stalker thing - well there's a lot that will come of that i'm sure - i just hope that it's not all that bad next season.
i'd say "jumbled mess". but of course, i still loved every second. is it me or does blake lively get worse and worse every episode??? the tassle in her hair killed me!
I wish that they would have gone more with the Poppy/Georgina story, i feel like it would have been fun to watch. In general, I found that there were a bunch things to wrap up in such a short
amount of time. - Georgina, Graduating, rufus/lily, Chuck/Blair, The crowning of the next Queen Bee, Rufus/Lily Sun, etc etc etc.
As much as I would have loved to see Chuck declare his love to Blair a little differently, I still loved that he finally said to Blair I love you! Yay! Chuck and Blair makes me happy and I
can forgive the rest of the episode... well more or less. Cannot wait till next season - Though those two still better be together and not have some stupid 'they broke up over the summer'
story.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! I spend half the episode with my mouth agape and the other half saying "OHMYGOD."
There were moments of extreme lameness (banding together, etc.) But I pretty much loved it all. I actually clapped and squealed when Chuck was giving Blair the gifts and then said I love you.
I was not originally team Blair/Chuck, but now I love them.
And the 1/2 brother? Called it! Awesome. I am DYING to see how that plays out. Do we think the kid has been searching for his half bro? Or really just likes Dan's writing? I hadn't thought of
the first option, but that's what it seems like now.
Was anyone else EXTREMELY annoyed that Serena was wearing her tassel in her hair with no mortar board. Really S?
I hope they recover some of the darkness and glamour of season one and lose some of the campiness of this season. I don't want to watch insanely wealthy, scandalous Upper East Siders be
silly, I want them to be dark and glamorous. And I need some realistic emotion/ character development. Can't do all of this bipolar 'We're dating --> we're breaking up --> whatev I have
amnesia and forgot about you' stuff.
lmao I liked the episode, very entertaining .. very slow, I laughed so hard when Blair said: "Do you like my headband?" .. sigh but OMG Chuck and Blair at the end was really sweet, going to
each country to get her fav things .. oh Chuck .. can't wait to see how they will do in college .. seeing as how Georgina will be with Blair and Dan .. they've all got their individual lives
now, very interesting especially with Dan's half brother on board ..I really don't
like Serena for some reason ..
I agree with sham28 about the darkness and glamour
If I could just draw your attention towards the cardigan Blair is wearing in the picture with Jenny. It's the same one Ugly Betty (uhm, just for emphasis: Ugly Betty!!) is wearing in
the picture Buzz put up for ABC's Fall Plans. I'm not entirely sure how that makes me feel...
I'm glad Chuck and Blair got together at the end. Although what they did with Chuck's character is really weird, and they didn't explain it. Why he was suddenly so cowardly, why he was acting
like such a drama queen (besides the fact that they wanted to draw it out), etc. It seems pretty clear that they only did it so the story would be more compelling, but it annoyed me because
they pushed and pulled around the character.
I agree with everyone about Serena's tassle-in-the-hair. UGH. She's just too cool to wear a graduation cap?
1. I can't wait for Serena and the new half-brother to almost hook up. It's too Gossip Girl not to be done!
2. Best. Thing. Ever! Chuck bringing Blair Pierre Herme macarons from Paris!! I might've swooned more if he had brought her Laduree macarons, but, really, I'm not picky.
3. You'd think Johnathan might've given Eric or Serena the heads up about having hacked GG.
4. Vanessa is just plain silly. She took Nate back after the older woman, she took Nate back after Jenny, now she's taking Nate back after Blair AND after he completely and publicly blew off
their (already made) plans to go interrailing. Here, Vanessa have some spinal cord growth pills. You sure need them.
5. Are we really meant to believe Blair would stay in a dorm room? And even if she did, she'd have a little Excel spread sheet with plausible roommate material, which she would choose
from.
6. I had completely forgotten Dan was in jail with Chuck.
- Jumbled mess AND lots of fun. And I'm with you on Nate - I actually completely forgot about the sex for money until he mentioned it, and just assumed that were talking about the fact that
he's a big man slut.
- I'm looking forward to the family drama with Dan's brother next season. It'll be nice to have something new - this season's drama was about to get boring.
- Blair and Chuck forever!
I was hoping for more from the season finale. It was just o.k. Luckily there was a good deal of Chuck Bass on the screen. Little J does NOT look like a girl who likes to play board games for
her b-day. I am thrilled to see what happens with Georgina, Serena + Eric's dad, and Dan's stalker brother.
Anyone think it could be Penelope? The girl is not dumb. And seriously why did no one know about Jonathan's GG hacking activity? That was weird.
Lastly, if any people choose to wear their graduation tassels in their hair in the next few weeks they deserve to be taunted in public for being tools.
I thought this episode was a jumbled mess.
-uncovering Gossip Girl's identity on season 2 finale? seriously.
-My favorite part was when Blair & Serena left lunch & Blair stopped & posed for the photographers before getting
in the limo.
-I hated the tassle in Serena's hair as well.
-Vanessa & Nate? Again? But how else would she be on the show next year.
-I like Blair & Chuck together but if they keep doing this, on again, off again thing, it's going to get old. Fast.
Regardless, this is still my favorite show, I hope that next season is more like the first, or better than all the rest. Lots of room for improvement.
I hate that Serena did not wear a cap just the tassle. That cap is like every young person's rite of passage into the real world. It looks bad on everyone and its tradition come on!
i loved it. it was sweet. true they crammed in a bunch of junk, but hey, i finally got what i wanted.
i don't think the characters will ever find out who gossip girl is, but we might.
serena was very annoying last night, although she said one of my favorite lines. "It's not like we stay up braiding each others hair."
& once again, can the writers please kill off Nate. vanessa too.
I'm so happy. He told her he loved her. That's all i wanted. I mean they probably will have a bad summer, but it was a very loveydovey moment, in a good way.
I liked the episode. It reminded me so much of my high school graduation because we were a group who weren't really buddy buddy but we got together and got suspended the whole last week of
school. It was like you know high school is over so its your last chance to make terrible decisions and not really face any consequences so you just do it. I guess because we were a small
graduating class of like 50 so leaving made us want to do things together since we never got the chance. Serena never cared about gossip girl posting stuff because it was high school and you
wanted rumors spread about you. Leaving you realize that it was wrong and you want to put an end to it.
i might be the only one who doesn't want chuck and blair together.i was happy to see them together but chuck is suppose to be a playboy.i just couldn't stand his crying and being all
emotional.i just don't see chuck like that.i also don't like jenny being the queen bee.she is just a mess i just can't picture her popular and she is definitely not someone i would look up
to.
This episode made me feel wayyy to old for it.
I was kind of embarrassed while watching it haha
but of course i will continue, its the closest thing left to the O.C - R.I.P
Oh Buzz, I had so anxiously waited for your recap. Great remarks and have to go with jungled mess.
So many thoughts as well.
- As many of you agreed, the tassel on the hair S, seriously?! Even celebs wear graduation caps when receiving a diploma.
- Just like Sham28 mentioned above. Hopefully GG has the dark twisted glamorous plots that the first season had, given that there were fewer episodes last season (strike).
- Little J annoys the hell out of me, good to see B being nice to her though.
- The Chuck-Blair part was a little predictable, off course he was going to say I love you. I was never a Chuck or C&B fan for that matter, but hopefully their plot line stays hot unlike
the Don & S's drama lost somewhere between Georgina and Gabriel...
- The intro to the "Lilly Show" prevented the Poppy/Georgina story to be further explored. I still believe that they robbed us our prom episode! not fun at all.
- One of my favorite parts last season was seeing the four of them (B,S,N and C) team up against Georgina. We got a little taste of that when they wanted to take down GG, ha! Sure it's going
to happen at the end of season TWO.
Overall pretty good and as you said Buzz, very predictable GG material. All I really hope for is that the show doesn't start taking wrong turns and eventually end up at a closed street, the
OC dilemma that is.
i agree ... little j kinda looks like a drugged up scarlett woman
loved blair and chuck at the end .. it was very cute
does anyone know what the song was?
glad little j is queen
love the fact that dans half brother is stalking him .. thats coool
piglette33...Yes, you're correct. Ugly Betty and Blair wore the same cardigan on their respective shows. I tried it on around Easter at a store, and it was cute, but it is also way too
expensive. Interesting how the same piece of clothing can look so great on one person and so bad on another. Just proof that designers are creating clothing for the "ideal" body shape, and
not for everyone....
Oh, also! I don't understand why any of these kids would be living in student housing at college. I expected them all to move right into lavish condos furnished by their parents.
man im glad yall told me that the mystery dude is dans half-brother. while watching the show i was thinking... "omg a gay love interest?" - seriously, lol. im so dumb sometimes.
Seriously, these kids are living in dorms? These kids, who have private drivers at their beck and call, who jet off to Paris for macaroons just because? They have incomprehensible amounts of
money at their disposal, and they're going to live in dorms? That's just silly.
The half brother of Dan An Little J, Is So Hott!! In Mexico The Last Episode Was Last Thursday So I Really Loved The Episode, But I Used To Like When Blair And Chuck Hated Each Other, Or At
Least They Pretended To, And Its Goinf To Be Cery Interesting When Rufus And Lilly Find Out Of Their "dead" Sonn, I Can't Wait To See Next Seasonn.
P.S.-Sorry if I Had Mistakes On My Writing But I'm Still Learning How To Write And Speak Englishh...
haha your points made me laugh, it thought Jenny looked skanky at graduation and also winced at the chuck/blair sex game and i also thought it was strange how the stranger just butted in to
their conversation i enjoyed the episode though and im looking forward to series 3

4As far as graduations go this one was pretty sad. I have to say I liked the OC's better. That one at least embraced the happiness of the moment.
Poor Don...I mean Dan. I didn't realize that was Dan's half brother at all until you posted it.
Georgina's at NYU next year too? Wow are they making everyone go there. You would think Blair would be rich enough to afford a single room though.
Finally cute Blair and Chuck moment at the end! Hooray!
5I wish that they would have gone more with the Poppy/Georgina story, i feel like it would have been fun to watch. I am happy that Chuck and Blair are together. The last scene was great. I thought Serena challenging GG was bold. I still hope that GG is Doroda. lol
Jenny will make a good queen bee. She will really shake things up. I loved the scene where Blair told off her old crew.
23"because the way college housing works is anyone can walk into an office and request a room with anyone else and it shall be done."
haha well, actually ... yes, it is.
24we all know gossip girl is kristen bell!
25The voice of Gossip Girl is Kristen Bell. She's not actually in the show as a character...

31IT WAS A HOT MESS ... but unlike other shows that are have obvious plot lines and vomit inducing dialogue i cannot get enough of gossip girl.
when serena waged war on gg & ...
blair : ill gather intel
chuck: ill run some stats
i had a hysterical laughing fit.
32LMAO....A HOT HOT MESS

It makes sense.
