The Wire's David Simon has told Broadcasting & Cable that he wants to make a movie about Donnie Andrews, the real-life Omar who robbed drug dealers.
Reuters reports that Bill Clinton will be among the first guests on Elvis Costello's talk/music show.
The Osbournes are headed to Fox for a new variety show that might be paired with American Idol next year, TV Week reports.
According to Billboard, the Flaming Lips are showing their Christmas movie, Christmas on Mars, at the festivals they're playing up until the movie is released on DVD later this year.
E! reports that Jamie-Lynn Sigler will join the cast of Entourage for a few episodes, playing herself.
The Hollywood Reporter has the news that the Sundance Institute has established a submission deadline for the 2009 festival: September 8, 2008.

2012 Golden Globe Nominations: Snap Judgments

Congrats to all of this year's Golden Globe nominees! Now that we've had the chance to digest all the nods, it's time to analyze the nominations and both sing the praises and decry the snubs from this year's list of honorees. Check out our snap judgments of the Golden Globe nominations, both good and bad, below.

One huge yay for the movies and actors we're happy got recognized: 50/50, Midnight in Paris, Jonah Hill, Charlize Theron, Kristen Wiig, Albert Brooks, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Owen Wilson.
The Hollywood Foreign Press seems to have as big a crush on Ryan Gosling as everyone else does; the actor scored two best actor nods: one in the drama category for The Ides of March and one in the comedy category for Crazy, Stupid, Love. We're all about the Gosling love, but we're wondering why he was passed up for Drive, a stronger, more interesting (if quieter) role for him.
Speaking of Gosling, the best actor in a drama category might as well just be retitled the Handsome Men's Club. With Gosling, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, and Leonardo DiCaprio, we're not sure if this is an acting competition or a measure of who's better looking. Not that we're complaining.
As if we needed any other confirmation that new TV has been fantastic, the Golden Globes nominations really drive the point home, recognizing tons of new series like Homeland, Game of Thrones, Episodes, New Girl, and more.
Some SAG snubs that the Golden Globes made right were the nominations for Michael Fassbender for Shame and Rooney Mara for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Brad Pitt Screens Moneyball as Angelina Jolie Does 60 Minutes

Brad Pitt joined his Moneyball costar Jonah Hill in LA last night for a special screening of their film. It was a rare domestic viewing for Brad, who in recent weeks has taken the movie around the world, from the Tokyo International Film Festival to a short South Korean tour. Brad and Angelina are currently on the West Coast with their six kids, and he took the oldest four out for a special Thanksgiving weekend theater trip to see Hugo.

Angelina, meanwhile, is prepping for the release of In the Land of Blood and Honey. As part of her press efforts, she appeared on 60 Minutes last night and revealed a unique career ambition. Angelina once wanted to direct funerals, and is surprised that her career's taken the path of making movies instead. She said, "It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do, but in fact, I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral . . . How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn't work out, that was going to be my path."

Harry Potter's James and Oliver Phelps Talk Playing the Weasley Twins and Reveal Their Favorite Potter Scene

The Harry Potter films may have come to an end, but the legacy certainly lives on - and the stars of the franchise are still celebrating. The cast headed to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida over the weekend to commemorate the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on DVD, which is in stores now. I caught up with James and Oliver Phelps, who play the mischievous twins, Fred and George Weasley in the series. The brothers shared some of their favorite scenes and fan moments, and revealed one very strange prop that they swiped from the set.

BuzzSugar: Now that the last movie is coming out on DVD, does it feel like Harry Potter is really over?
Oliver Phelps: Not really, no. There's always something else that's happening with Potter. There's this one, then there's the Warner Brothers studio London tour where you can go see the sets and everything, which opens at the end of March. And there will probably be other stuff.

Buzz: What do you miss the most about making the movies, and what do you miss the least?
OP: Miss the least is getting my eyebrows bleached, definitely. But miss the most? I think just the regularity of it. You knew where you were going to be, for a couple of months a year filming Potter, and knowing that that was coming up. [Not having that] takes some getting used to.

JP: What I miss the most is hanging out on someone else's credit card [Laughs]. We are all good friends, so it was just hanging out with your mates. So I'll miss that, but we still keep in contact. What I'll miss least? Maybe the traveling. I'm not a big fan of the traveling. People ask, "If there's one spell you could take, what would it be?" A port key, definitely. Because then I could easily be back in England, and that kind of thing.

Buzz: How surreal was it to film the scene in the final movie where Fred dies?
OP: It wasn't nice. It wasn't nice at all, because one thing we do with [director] David Yates is try to get into the moment, try to relate to something. Which I did, and it came over really well, I think, on camera. But it was weird, not only seeing your pretend brother in the film, but your actual brother, all pale and stiff. I'm glad we didn't have to do that too often.

Buzz: Would you say it was easier to do the scene with your real brother?
OP: It made it easier to do, but probably harder as well to keep it together.

Buzz: Did you get to keep any props from the set?
OP: I wish we did, I really wish we did. I'd love to take the wand, because each wand is individual. They're very strict on having that back, but that would have been great if we were able to keep those. I don't know what I'd do with it. I'd probably put it in a case, put it on my wall or something, but it would be nice to have that piece. I did keep the prosthetic ear, because George loses his ear, which looks really odd. It's at the back of my script. When you open my script, it's stuck there, which looks pretty disgusting.

read more. Buzz: What was it like following the trajectory of your characters from pranksters to young men? JP: It was cool because normally when you do a film, the emotion of the character is the same all the way through. But what's the joy of playing [Fred and George] is that you can show they're predominantly pranksters, they love to have a laugh, then you see that they're entrepreneurs, and then you see they've actually got a softer side as well, like in Deathly Hallows Part 1 when George has his ear blown off, you see the softer side of Fred. We were able to take the characters from one extreme to another, yet still be in the same character, and everyone is still able to understand them. Buzz: What lessons did you learn as actors making these films? OP: It was certainly a learning curve along the way. We learned so many things like, acting-wise, just watching all the older guys in the cast do their thing, and you can pick up so many tips. The best is that you can go and talk to them about it, which is absolutely great to be able to do. Buzz: What's your favorite scene that you guys were in? JP: For me, it would be the Marauder's Map scene in The Prisoner of Azkaban. Because that's like the first time you see Fred and George, as like, you always know they're pranksters or whatever, but they actually have stuff of importance they're willing to pass on. But on a personal level, our grandfather read the book, and said to us, "This will be good. You've got to get that scene, get that scene and you'll be sorted." So that was kind of it, but unfortunately he passed away a couple of weeks before we shot it. But on an emotional side, that means so much to me because it was him who came up with the idea initially of cutting each other up, and it became our trademark all the way through. Buzz: Is the fan mania bigger here in the states, or overseas? James Phelps: It's big everywhere we go, which is quite a special thing. I guess it's just the cultures in general, and how different cultures are different. In the Far East, for example, they'll cheer and everything, but as soon as you wave, everyone stops talking and just waves back. Over here, you can kind of work them into a bit of frenzy. I'm not flogging my ego or anything, they're just very passionate about it. Buzz: Can you tell me about one of your craziest fan moments? OP: When we were in London, people were crying and everything. They saw it as the end of their childhood. But I think when it all comes to a head, it's over for them as an audience, really. There's no more new premieres and stuff. That was quite emotional for a lot of people. Buzz: Do you guys want to continue working together or are you ready to go your separate ways, career-wise? OP: Both. Originally, we were going to do something totally different from each other, but listening to the older guys, they said, "No, you should use that. You've got something different from the competition. If you have anything different from the competition, then use that." JP: It would be good to work apart for a little bit, because we'll probably kill each other if we keep doing this [Laughs].

Harry Potter's Rupert Grint Shares His Red-Headed Role Models

Rupert Grint has been busy over the last few weeks doing press for the final Harry Potter film ahead of its release Friday. He spent the weekend at the junket for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which came just before Monday's NYC premiere of Harry Potter. So far, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 reviews look great. Rupert spoke about the experience of making the final film, and also revealed some fun personal information like who his red-haired role models are and just why he bought an ice cream truck. Rupert said:

On his favorite red-headed role model: "I get a lot of kind of people from the ginger community shake my hand. I’ve always been a proud ginger. I don’t know about in America but in England it’s not the coolest thing really having ginger hair, get quite an unfair hassle. It's nice Ron is quite a respected ginger guy and Prince Harry as well is pretty cool."
On getting any secrets on Ron's back story from J.K. Rowling: "Not really. Whenever J.K. Rowling came to the set and we were kind of chatting, we rarely ever spoke about the books or the stories, just kind of general chat, but I remember she did tell fill us in on the epilogue, kind of where the characters go, what they do for a living, I think she had kind of written the rest of their lives really, so that was quite interesting to hear what we all became. I think Ron, I worked in the Ministry doing something and I forget what everyone else was doing. . . it was cool."
On the scene in which he kisses Emma Watson: "It was a tricky one to do, I think. I’ve known Emma so long we mutually both were dreading this scene, slightly. It was a moment that was not in the book obviously, sort of something [producers] David [Yates] and Steve [Kloves] came up with. Yeah, it was a challenge to make it believable, the romance of it, cause like you said it’s been built up for so many years now and we wanted people to think we actually wanted to kiss each other 'cause in reality we really didn’t. Yeah, it was fine. It was a nice moment and, hopefully, people believe it."
On how many takes it took to get the kissing scene down: "We did about four takes. I find it hard to recall, remember anything about it, it's kind of been erased from my mind. Yeah, we had a laugh about it, it was fine."

Super 8 Trailer: Super Promising, Super Spielberg-esque

Finally, some satisfaction! JJ Abrams's Summer movie Super 8 has been shrouded in mystery, but now we have the full trailer! The Super Bowl spot didn't give away that much, but this clip affords us much more of the story. In the late '70s, a young kid passes the time in his small town by making Super 8 movies with his friends (including Elle Fanning), much to the chagrin of his father (Friday Night Lights' Kyle Chandler). When a freighter derails in town, the mystery begins - strange happenings start up, and the kids find themselves in the middle because they've accidentally captured footage of the incident. Though no one actually mentions the word aliens in the clip, you know that whatever was in the crashed freighter is probably not just some large circus animal.

After being teased for so long, I'm happy that this trailer doesn't just look interesting, it looks downright great. Abrams appears to be really mining his influence from producer Steven Spielberg, from the youthful main cast to the heartfelt-sounding score. The movie comes out June 10, and it's already making it to the top of my most anticipated Summer blockbusters list.

Britney Spears Is "Back and Better Than Ever" in a Sexy, Colorful V Magazine Spread

Britney Spears made a splash on the cover of the Spring V Magazine, which is out on newsstands tomorrow. She was photographed by Mario Testino in multiple skimpy ensembles for the spread, which is in the same issue that features very sexy Gisele. Britney's promoting Femme Fatale, which is one of BuzzSugar's must haves for March, following the success of her first single, "Hold It Against Me." She opened up about working on the "best album" she has ever made, her boys, and fame. Here's more:

On if she thinks she was destined to be a star: "If not, then God definitely has a strange sense of humor."
On what she'd do if she stopped making music: "I'd be a full-time mom which would be cool. I'd miss my fans and all of the love the most, but I definitely would not miss having my picture taken everywhere I go. I wouldn't miss showering in arenas either. So gross!"
On her legacy: "Two amazing boys and a lot of music that hopefully brings a lot of people a lot of happiness."
On her other interests: "I love to cook, especially for my boys. I also make a mean southern sweet tea from a recipe my mom passed on to me. It's really good. I love it. I make it for my boys all the time."
On fame: "I don't think I thought about 'fame' when I was a child. I knew I wanted to perform and I knew I wanted to be on stage but I don't think I ever thought about fame or what comes with being famous."

Announcing the Winners of the 2011 Grammy Awards!

There goes another staple in award season - the Grammys are a wrap! The night was chock-full of performances from standouts like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, but there were a few statuettes passed out between songs.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy took the opportunity to thank his "beautiful pregnant girlfriend" Kate Hudson while accepting the trophy for best rock album, and Lady Gaga gave props to Whitney Houston in her acceptance speech for best pop album. Lady Antebellum scored big with five golden gramophones, but it was Arcade Fire that won the biggest award of the night, taking home the accolade for album of the year.
