Katherine Heigl to Produce Adaptation of Lost and Found

Katherine Heigl is apparently not content to rest on her laurels after taking home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama last Sunday. Today we have news that Heigl has optioned the rights to make the novel Lost and Found into a movie. Variety has more:

Jacqueline Sheehan's novel, published by HarperCollins imprint Avon A, focuses on a widowed psychologist who moves to a remote Maine island and works in an animal hospital after her husband dies.

Heigl is said to have contacted the author's agent after reading the book. It's not yet known if she may star in the pic.

Heigl is producing the movie with the company that she heads up with her mother Nancy Heigl. Yes, this is the same mother that Katherine joked didn't think she'd win the Emmy, and then backpedaled and assured us her mother was very supportive while the camera caught Nancy Heigl looking overwhelmed. Well, they're producing another movie together, so all's well that ends well, I guess!

Katherine Heigl and her mom, Nancy, went out to lunch in LA with baby Adalaide yesterday - see the first pictures of her cute face! Katherine and her husband Josh Kelley recently welcomed the little girl into the family and announced her adoption earlier this month. The new addition joins big sister Naleigh, who is 3 years old. Katherine and Adalaide have been out and about a few times in the past few weeks, including on Mother's Day, which was Katherine's first as a mom of two.

Josh Kelley kissed his wife, Katherine Heigl, yesterday during their PDA filled lunch date in LA. The couple joined her mother, Nancy, at Little Dom's for the midday bite. Katherine's been busy with a new line of work lately: crafting. She's the latest star to join Pinterest - are you following PopSugar on Pinterest yet? Katherine's been pinning things left and right, and Tuesday night, Josh shared a photo of a skirt she made for their daughter, Naleigh.

Katherine hasn't limited her projects to sewing. She recently tweeted a photo of a DIY project that required lots of spray paint and old picture frames. Her next film, The Wedding, is scheduled for a Fall release, so Katherine has a few more months of arts and crafts before duty calls her back before the cameras.

Katherine Heigl spent yesterday afternoon with her mom, Nancy, in Pasadena. The ladies headed off to take in a matinee, but animal lover Katherine couldn't resist stopping to play with a puppy first. Katherine enjoyed an afternoon at the cinema, but her next project takes her back to the small screen - she's lined up a role in the HBO movie Knitting Circle. Nancy was able to go along with Katherine and her husband, Josh, on a recent Florida vacation, where the actress showed off a range of bikinis. The Kelley-Heigl gang got back to California last week, as Josh had to do interviews to support the release of his new album, Georgia Clay. He spoke about the musical atmosphere in his household and Naleigh's evolving tastes, saying, "She loves it when I sing - if I'm playing the piano or guitar, she'll come over and sing with me . . . She's a really smart girl. She'll come over and strum my guitar and even sing in the right key."

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley had little Naleigh by their side as they boarded a flight at an airport in Merced, CA on Friday. Josh has been making the promotional rounds lately to support his new country-tinged album Georgia Clay, and he had his guitar in hand as the family made their way across the tarmac together. Katherine has been taking a bit of a break from work since filming New Year's Eve late last year, but will be back on set shortly as she begins filming opposite Robert De Niro, Amanda Seyfried, and Topher Grace in Gently Down the Stream, a family comedy about a divorced couple who pretends to be married for the sake of their newly engaged son. She's also signed on for a role on the small screen in HBO's upcoming The Knitting Circle, but for the moment has been enjoying lots of outings with Naleigh, as well as her mother, Nancy.
