Isle of Wight Festival and Festival Broadcast in 3D

There's no doubt about it — music festivals are a big deal around the globe. This year, fans who couldn't make it to the annual Coachella Music and Arts festival were treated to some live streaming via YouTube, which brought their favorite artists' performances into their living rooms. Similarly, the UK's Isle of Wight Festival will be broadcasting live thanks to Sky Arts, but with an extra Read more

2011 Coachella Pictures

All weekend long, I've been talking about my experiences at the Coachella music festival, but I was also there to check out Intel's Visual Life and Creators Project. Partnering up with some seriously talented visual artists, Intel (who sponsored my trip to Indio, CA by hooking me up with a hotel, transportation, and food) helped to outfit some of the Coachella stages with art installations, Read more

2011 Coachella Reviews and News

This weekend, I celebrated alongside thousands of others at the three-day Coachella Music festival. Held in Indio, California, it's one of the largest in the US with around 226,000 in attendance last year. This year, Intel sponsored my trip there — taking care of my accommodations, transportation, and nourishment — so that I could check out the Creators Project: a joint venture between Intel Read more

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival Announces Their 2010 Lineup

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival just announced their 2010 lineup. Jay-Z, Muse, and Gorillaz are serving as headliners, but the list of supporting acts is just as noteworthy with everyone from LCD Soundsystem to The Dead Weather to Phoenix. The big event isn't until April 16-18, but I'm already trying to figure out if I can swing it. I've been going to the Treasure Island Music Festival for Read more

2009 Outside Lands: A Beautiful Weekend

The first two days of this year's Outside Lands festival here in San Francisco were absolutely beautiful — almost (almost!) too warm. This rarely happens here in the chilly city by the Bay, so it felt like a nice surprise gift. By Sunday, the city was back to its cloudy self, but that didn't dampen the spirits of concertgoers. Overall, the festival was great — laid-back but still fun, and Read more

Playlist Inspired by 2009 Outside Lands Music Festival Lineup

Come fog or sunshine (probably fog), the Outside Lands Festival is invading San Francisco's Golden Gate Park this weekend, and I'll be hitting up the three-day fest. I barely made it out alive last year, but I'm hoping that since it's the festival's second year, everything will come together a little more harmoniously (pun intended). With a lineup running the gamut from Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Read more

Paul McCartney to Headline 2009 Coachella

Paul McCartney is making the rounds these days, what with promoting his latest album Electric Arguments — most hilariously on The Colbert Report, the uncomfortable video of which you can check out after the jump — and now there's news that he'll topline the the tenth Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this April. The question becomes, however, is Coachella a good fit for this former Read more

A Recap of the 2008 Treasure Island Music Festival

Last year's Treasure Island Music Festival was such a great time that I couldn't wait for the 2008 edition. The early-bird tickets went on sale in April, and though that translated into five months of anticipation, I was delighted to find my expectations matched — if not exceeded. The festival had an impressive and varied lineup of bands between the two stages, named Bridge (the bigger of the Read more
