Buzz In: Who's Your Favorite Movie President?

Sometimes movie presidents are so much more fun than real life presidents. With a team of talented screenwriters and directors behind them, they often make the kind of grand, inspirational speeches that can be pretty rare in the real world. And they seem to get away with a lot of stuff, too.

Take Kevin Kline's character in the movie Dave, for example. He isn't even supposed to be president, he's just a doppelganger subbing in, which is totally against all the rules and stuff. But you know what? He has a good heart, and that's what matters in movie presidents.

Of course, things get all meta and mind warpy when you start to think about biopic movie presidents, but they count, too, for these purposes. So, who is your favorite movie president? Do you agree with a recent poll that Harrison Ford in Air Force One is the best? I personally like Jeff Bridges (pictured) as President Jackson Evans in The Contender. He nominates a - gasp! - female vice president and all hell breaks loose.

We Talk to Big Miracle's Vinessa Shaw and The Real-Life Woman She Plays

Vinessa Shaw had big shoes to fill when she signed on to play Bonnie Carroll in Big Miracle. As an adviser to President Reagan, Bonnie played a major role in the real-life whale rescue spotlighted in the film, and even met her late husband through their unexpected teamwork on the effort. We sat down with Vinessa and Bonnie at a recent press day for the movie, where they said they formed a quick friendship upon first meeting. Lock-Out Trailer: "Loose Cannon" Guy Pearce Goes to Space

For the worst criminals in the world, a maximum-security prison on this planet will no longer suffice. In Lock-Out, the worst of the worst get to go to space. For some reason, the president's daughter is on a "goodwill mission" at the place where the most dangerous dudes in the world serve their time. During her stay, the inmates have an uprising, and there's one guy in the world who can stop them. The gorgeous Guy Pearce plays the bad boy Snow who is (and I quote) "the best there is - but he's a loose cannon."

My first impressions when I saw that Lock-Out trailer? It's a high-tech Con Air in space: the inmates take over, and they're doomed to have an epic crash down to Earth. However, the movie does have the same producers as Liam Neeson's thriller Taken, which proved to be a decent film. In the same vein, the actress who played Neeson's kidnapped daughter in the film, Maggie Grace, plays the president's daughter in Lock-Out - looks like she's got the damsel-in-distress gig down pat. George Clooney Reveals an On-Set Injury and Talks Politics at Critics' Choice

A dapper George Clooney snapped up the best actor honor at the Critics' Choice Awards tonight before stopping to talk about The Descendants and his take on politics with reporters. George weighed in on his slightly dorky wardrobe in the film and an on-set injury he said he hadn't revealed until now. He also shared a sweet moment with his friend Viola Davis, who won best actress, as they hugged and posed for pictures together backstage.

On his on-set injury: "Amara, who is the younger child, had never been on a set before, and she went behind me, one day when were sitting in Kauai, so we're out in the middle of nowhere, and took her hand and smacked me on top of the head, because that's what she does. And it was funny, but it broke my two front teeth and I had to go shoot. So I had to go get Krazy Glue and take my pieces of my teeth and glue them in to finish the shot. And Alexander [Payne, the director] came in and saw me gluing my teeth in and made some joke about the fact that I really was from Kentucky."

On his wardrobe in The Descendants "That was almost ending all masculinity, the minute you pulled the khakis up about there, and the Hawaiian shirt tucked in down to there."

On the moment he realized the movie resonated with people: "The first time we showed it to . . . a critical audience and the first time we understood and heard people laughing. Because the funniest thing is, when you're doing it, there are a few moments in the film that we knew were going to be funny, but there were a lot of moments . . . that weren't necessarily there as the actors. The actors didn't know. So it was nice to hear some of the laughter, because that really set up some of the really rough stuff later."

On what he would do if he were president: "OK, I'm going to get right on that, because that seems like such a fun job, doesn't it? There's not much I could do there. There are very smart people around - much smarter than me - doing the best they can."

On using his fame for good causes: "As someone who's not in politics . . . I find that it's very helpful to find one or two specific things to educate yourself about and try to exploit that as much as you can. Exploit your fame or whatever that is to focus on that . . . I find that for people in my position that get an awful lot of attention - a lot of attention - it's nice to be able to refocus that on people who can't get any attention."

Matt Damon Shares a Youthful Smile, Talks Brad Pitt and George Clooney's "Charm" in GQ

Matt Damon posed for a playful spread in GQ's January 2012 issue. The actor donned shrunken shirts and showed off his carnival game skills in the photos taken by Ben Watts, which accompany an interview conducted at the Central Park Zoo. The location is fitting as Matt is in the middle of promoting his latest project, We Bought a Zoo, with his most recent appearance on the red carpet at last night's NYC premiere. He said he plans to take a break with his family for the holidays, but in the men's magazine, Matt was all about business. Here's more from Matt Damon in GQ:

On working with George Clooney and Brad Pitt in the Ocean's movies: "Look, if you want to try and GQ it up with George and Brad, good luck! That's pretty rarefied air, and you're not going to bring more charm than those two, so you've got to find something else."
On President Obama's joke about him at the White House Correspondents' dinner: “I have to say, it was pretty funny. Whoever came up with it, it was a terrific joke.”
Director Steven Soderbergh on Matt: "Probably the least vain person in his position out there. He has no interest in protecting any sort of idea of himself as an actor."

Jessica and Cash Hit the Pumpkin Patch With Baby Haven and Honor

Jessica Alba smiled as she cradled her infant daughter Haven Garner Warren in her arms on Saturday during a family trip to a pumpkin patch in Culver City, CA. Cash Warren and Honor Warren joined Jessica and Haven for the holiday outing, and Honor even got into the Halloween spirit a bit early, dressing up in a purple princess costume for the visit. After the foursome's day out, Jessica glammed up to attend former President Bill Clinton's 65th birthday party that night, along with Cash and stars like Rachel Zoe and Sofia Vergara. Jessica has been splitting her time between her daughters and red-carpet events all month. Not only has she been a frequent fixture on school runs with Honor, but she also stepped out for a party hosted by Giorgio Armani and Vanity Fair last week. Jessica has been taking a break from new big-screen projects while she focuses on her family, though her voice can be heard in the upcoming animated movie Escape From Planet Earth.

George Clooney Jokes About Picking Ryan Gosling to Star in Ides of March: "He Was Cheaper"!

George Clooney had a press-filled day promoting The Ides of March in NYC today ahead of this evening's red-carpet premiere in the city. George stopped off at the Time building for its 10 Questions Live series and paid a visit to David Letterman for a Late Show interview, which airs later tonight. George's latest directorial project, in which he also plays a political candidate, hits theaters this Friday after already receiving widely positive reviews at both the Venice and Toronto film festivals. George may not be interested in running for office in real life, but he's certainly a charmer, and he showed off his signature sense of humor as he joked about Ryan Gosling having a hard time finding work and why he's not on Twitter. On choosing Gosling for the part: "He was cheaper. He hasn't worked in awhile. I felt bad for him . . . When we were adapting the screenplay, from the very beginning, we had been considering Ryan all along. He and I had long conversations about film a couple of years before so I always wanted to work with him. I liked him. I thought he was smart . . . He's an interesting actor. He's now in sort of every movie, but for a long period of time he was sort of the reluctant star."
