Hope Springs Trailer: Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones Spice Things Up

As she's proved time and time again, Meryl Streep is a pro. Just ask her cabinet of Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes. But in the new trailer for Hope Springs it appears her character Maeve has lost her touch, or at least she has with Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones), her hubby of 31 years. After concluding that their marriage has lost its spark, Maeve and Arnold head to Great Hope Springs for an intensive couples therapy retreat, led by Dr. Bernie Field (Steve Carell). Along the road to reconciliation, the two encounter roadblocks, hijinks, and a banana.

Many Meryl Streep fans might be excited about this movie, but if this trailer were a person, I would be like "TMI, man." I know Jones was hot back in the day, but I do not want to picture him having a threesome with Streep and their neighbor. Having said that, the non-sexy stuff does look pretty cute, and given that it's being directed by David Frankel, who was behind 2006's The Devil Wears Prada and 2008's Marley & Me, it might be one of the feel-good movies of the Summer. Hope Springs comes out August 10, so watch the preview after the jump.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Put on a Steamy Show For the Rainforest Fund

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan stole the show at last night's concert for the Rainforest Fund, held inside NYC's Carnegie Hall. The hot couple took the stage for a dance routine, with Jenna looking hot in a red wrap dress and Channing dapper in a porkpie hat. They shared the stage with singing legends like Elton John, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, and James Taylor. There was another special duet in store for Channing - Channing and Elton gyrated together for a rendition of "Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend."

Meryl Streep also lent her voice to the show, teaming up with Sting and Elton for The Wizard of Oz's "If I Only Had a Brain." President Bill Clinton even emerged to say a few words. The Rainforest concert is an annual event organized by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. Sting and Trudie led the celebrity guests to an afterparty at the Pierre Hotel that featured an auction, where someone paid $26,000 to have Tom Hanks record their voice mail message.

Andrew Garfield Gets Opening Night Support From Emma, Maggie, Meryl, and More

Andrew Garfield took the Broadway stage of Death of a Salesman with his costars, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, in NYC yesterday. It was a big opening night for the play with plenty of famous faces stepping out to show their support. Meryl Streep and her husband Don Gummer held hands on their way into the theater while Julianna Margulies and Julianne Moore both posed with their men before heading inside. Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is pregnant with her second child, covered her bump in a cape for the occasion with Peter Sarsgaard by her side. Andrew's girlfriend Emma Stone, in Lanvin, arrived solo to watch him perform after the duo were seen arm in arm on the NYC streets over the weekend. Andrew even got a nod in the form of flowers from Reeve Carney, who plays Spider-Man in the Broadway adaptation, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with a note reading, “Happy opening, from one Spidey to another.” We'll get to see Andrew's turn in the superhero role when The Amazing Spider-Man, which also stars Emma, hits theaters this Summer.

When it comes to acting and love, Meryl Streep has staying power. The Iron Lady winner has been married to sculptor Don Gummer since 1978. He accompanied her to this year's Oscars, and she touchingly thanked him in her acceptance speech, saying "I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives you've given me."

So how did they meet? After her partner John Cazale, of The Godfather and Deer Hunter, died of bone cancer in 1978, Meryl got an offer to move into the vacant apartment of her brother's friend, Don Gummer. Don was traveling in Europe, so he didn't mind if Meryl stayed. When he got back, she didn't move out, and within six months they got married. They now have four kids together. Meryl Streep pulled out a major upset at the Oscars tonight when she beat out Viola Davis for best actress. It marks Streep's third Oscar (and 17th nomination!), but being a seasoned veteran didn't stop her from showing her excitement backstage in the press room. Streep joked about The Academy being sick of her, gave advice for young women, and talked about why she doesn't take anything for granted.

On what went through her mind when she won: They call your name and you just sort of go into a white light. And it was just thrilling. And it was like I was a kid again - and I was a kid the last time I won. Two of the nominees were not even conceived the last time I won!

On whether or not she got to meet Margaret Thatcher: No, I didn't, but I studied her and I studied. And then the challenge was to imagine her present life, and that was completely on active imagination. There was a lot of freedom in that, but also responsibility to a real person and to history. It was really, very, very satisfying as an actor, as an artist, to make a film that starts out about Margaret Thatcher and ends up being really about all of us.

On how she makes time for personal relationships: It's the juggle and the challenge that we [women] have, but honestly, in my life, because it's in the arts, I don't go to work every day. So my day has been more flexible than other working women, even when I was young and broke. I was only ever working for four months at a time and then I was unemployed. So my children never knew when I was going to be home, which was very valuable [laughs]. It was a struggle. Women have to do it all.

On how it feels to have won three times: I read a poem yesterday, and it had nothing to do with this, but one of the lines jumped out, and it said "It's as strange to be here once as it is to return." So that's true. The whole thing is strange. If you're a human being, it's weird. If you're not, I don't know. Probably fine.

On if she worried that she'd never win again: No. I have everything I've ever dreamed of in my life. I think there's room for other people, and frankly, I understand Streep fatigue. And it shocked me that it didn't override this tonight. I was really, really happy but I don't take anything for granted, that's for sure.

On advice for young women: Never give up, don't give up, don't vie up. Many girls around the world live in circumstances that are unimaginably different. Show business is a golf game compared to the way most kids grow up in the world. But I would say never give up.

On how it felt to see herself as Margaret Thatcher: By the time we had achieved the right amount of less and less and less, I had become acclimated to not looking at Margaret Thatcher in the mirror, I thought it was me. And that was important to me, that I wasn't looking at rubber, that I wasn't looking at me. At that point in creating that character, I had already morphed, in a way, in my head and in my heart with her. And her concerns, and her interests, her zeal, her mission, her sense of rightness, and all that. But honestly, when we first had the old-age makeup on, I saw my dad. Maybe my dad looked like Margaret Thatcher.
