As soon as the Emmy nominations were announced, I started thinking up my own list of top contenders - but you were very vocal about your favorites, too! So, I asked for your expertise in the category of Best Supporting Actor, Drama. Taking your opinions into consideration, here's the full breakdown of likely winners.

Are You Interested in Seeing Ray Romano on TV Again?

We were just talking about Seinfeld's upcoming reappearances on TV, and while most of you are looking forward to seeing Seinfeld again, some of you are over it. I was recently reading this piece about Penelope Ann Miller joining Ray Romano's new series, Men of a Certain Age on TNT, and it struck me that here we have another former comedian-turned-sitcom-star returning to the airwaves.

I wasn't as big a fan of Everybody Loves Raymond as I was of Seinfeld, so I'm personally feeling pretty neutral about seeing Romano on TV again, but I know he has plenty of fans out there who will be excited for his return.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing Romano on the small screen once more?

Ray Romano: Self-Appointed Fat, Neurotic Loser in TNT Drama

In case you've always wanted to see Ray Romano's more serious side, you're in luck: The formerly loved-by-everybody actor is trying his hand at drama for TNT.

The network has ordered a pilot for Men of a Certain Age, about three male friends approaching middle age together. Romano and Raymond producer Mike Royce wrote the pilot episode, and, as a surprisingly self-aware Romano said in a TNT statement:

"Mike and I have always had success writing what we know. What we know now is that we’re middle aged, neurotic and fat."

Romano's character, Joe, is a divorced father of two who wanted to be a professional golfer but runs a party supply store instead. One of his best friends, Owen, is a stressed-out dad who sells cars at a dealership owned by his own father; his other BFF, Terry, is offbeat, handsome, smart, and still incapable of making it as an actor. TNT is describing the show as a wry, character-based drama, and though it's just at the pilot stage, the gushing comments from network bosses ("Men of a Certain Age is a very special project for TNT," etc) make me think this is going to end up on our TVs before long.

11 Things Hiring Managers Won’t Tell You

Ever want to read your interviewer's mind? LearnVest shares a couple of secrets hiring managers don't want you to know.

The next time you walk into an interview, consider the following:

Your wedding or engagement ring? Can and may be used against you.

Those photos of kids on a hiring manager's desk? They may not actually be the manager's children - but the photo is designed to get you talking about your kids or whether you plan to have some eventually.

And then there's the trick that can land some applicants $20,000 more when they start negotiating their salary.

In fact, LearnVest got the inside scoop from hiring managers across the country. Many spoke on the condition of anonymity because their methods were so controversial - and not what you'd find in any company manual.

New research out of the United States Census Bureau shows that women still earn less than their male counterparts at every education level. Although women are outearning men in terms of college degrees and doctorates, our wages aren't keeping up. In fact, the gap only worsens at higher levels of education.

But armed with this insider knowledge - straight from the mouths of those who hire you - you can help improve both these statistics and your bottom line.

I leave pictures of kids on my desk. They’re not even my kids.

Legally, hiring managers aren’t allowed to ask if you have kids, just as they’re not supposed to discriminate against you on the hunch that your child might occasionally have a soccer game. But we spoke to one hiring manager who leaves pictures of her niece and nephew to find out (legally) who has kids. “I’m not allowed to ask about family situations, but if they bring it up, it’s fair game. Kids are a distraction to this job, which requires long hours and weekends. I won’t hire someone who has other priorities.”

How to handle this: it’s very easy to get nervous and resort to small talk. (“Oh, are those your kids? How old? Mine are 6 and 10 . . . ”) Commenting on kids’ photos is easy bait, especially if you’re a parent yourself, but avoid it if you can. Talk about the weather or find something to compliment your interviewer on instead.

I check for wedding bands.

One hiring manager told us: “This is an entry-level job, and the people we hire are usually fresh out of college. If I see a wedding band, there’s a good probability that candidate is going to start a family soon. If I hire her and she goes on maternity leave, I can’t legally fire her, but I still have to find someone else to replace her while she’s gone. When she comes back, I can’t fire her either, so now I’m stuck with two employees when all I needed was one. No thanks.”

This one is an easy fix: leave your wedding ring at home. You're not obligated to share any information about your relationship status, so try to avoid doing so.

Can you begin by telling us a little about yourself?

I am 27 years old and a Capricorn (yes, that’s the goat). I’m originally from Portland, ME (the first Portland), and I currently live in Bellevue, WA. I graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts with a BS in exercise science. I own CrossFit Amped, coach during the day, fight crime at night, and occasionally put down an entire jar of fresh-grind almond butter. Mmmmmm, fat!

What is CrossFit?

Textbook definition: it is constantly varied functional movements executed at a high intensity. CliffsNotes version: constantly changing workouts that involve body weight movements, gymnastics, aerobic and anaerobic training, Olympic lifting, power lifting, strongman movements, and anything else my twisted mind can conjure up! It is a universally scalable platform for exercise that allows any man or woman of any age and ability level to participate. I have worked with every walk of life and haven’t been stumped yet. In fact, I am currently coaching two men who are deaf, which was a challenge at first because of the amount of detail needed to comprehend and apply to certain movement patterns. Now it is no problem. In fact, I’ve learned some sign language because of it!

How to Live in Harmony With Your Parents

It's hard to find a job with no experience, so a lot of young people find themselves in a muddle with low job prospects and an empty bank account. This leads many of them to move in with their parents to save money. Our partner LearnVest tackles this topic and gives advice for both the kids and their parents.

40%(!) of adults aged 18-39 are moving in or have moved back in with their parents.

As much as we love our parents, this probably isn’t our idea of a good time (or theirs).

But hey, drastic circumstances call for drastic measures. And there’s a good reason so many are leaning on their folks right now: The unemployment rate for people under 25 is 18% - more than twice the national average.

This is despite the fact that the American unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest point in the last four years.

The Facts

According to a recent survey by the National Endowment For Financial Education, 40% of American adults ages 18-39 either live at home or did so in the recent past . . . and that's not counting students.

Meanwhile, according to The Wall Street Journal, young people are bearing the brunt of economy-wide wage decreases. Their pay has dropped steadily for the past decade, and men have suffered more than women: The average inflation-adjusted hourly wage for male college graduates ages 23-29 dropped 11% in the past ten years, as compared to the 7.6% decrease for women with the same criteria. In contrast, average hourly wages for the workforce overall have risen slightly in the same time period (although that may be simply because the workers with the lowest pay have left the workforce).

I’ve been watching Downton Abbey along with much of the rest of the country, obsessed with the World War 1 era story of class, heartbreak, and romance. The servants, of course, are a lot more interesting than the aristocrats. But in the end it’s all about whether or not Mary, the eldest daughter, will pick a suitably wealthy man. For a while she was matched off with a newspaper baron who was plenty wealthy, but in a new and flashy kind of way. Her destiny is with Matthew, who in a twist caused by the sinking of the Titanic, is the heir to her father’s fortune.

Polyamory: Nature or Choice?

Yeah, it's about the romance. But it’s also about the money. Her parents are trying to push, plod, and cover-up (a little indiscretion with a Turk that both took Mary’s virginity and the handsome young man’s life all in one bedtime romp) in order to get their daughter matched off properly. And save the family.

Watching all that courtship for money I had to reflect on 2012 and how many couples I know where a woman clearly married a much older man at least in part because of significant wealth. I can remember a time when that kind of thing was frowned upon but honestly I can’t remember anyone so much as mentioning it even in situations where it’s painfully obvious.

Am I totally out of my mind?

Men during this era would go out digging for gold, and once they struck it big, they would go into the nearby bars and celebrate by spreading the wealth around. When they got to these bars, beautiful women all dolled up to perfection, dressed in skimpy little outfits, would line up around the bar area, looking ever so available and waiting for the men who stuck it big to roll in. The men dug for the gold, and the women lived off the men and helped them spend it, giving birth to the most popular term gold digger." –History of the Gold Digger

Obviously it should be added that prior to the concept of the gold digger there was the concept of a "dowry" in which a wife came with money to compensate a husband for taking on the burden of supporting his bride (an equally insane and sexist practice IMO).

It seems to me that at one time women’s liberation meant that there was a certain amount of equality of expectation in terms of economic support being provided by both spouses. And in that context, marrying for money was frowned upon as selling out. Better to go to graduate school, get a real job, and come to family responsibilities equally equipped to make a buck, write a book, or change a diaper.

Obviously many, many women work their asses off. In fact more women than men are in the work force according to Hanna Rosin of End of Men fame. And more women are in college too. Which makes the gold digger phenomenon even stranger to me.

It seems that if you are young and beautiful and smart as a woman, it is totally acceptable - in fact almost expected - that you marry a guy a generation older than you with a boat load of cash. In a weird way it’s become a sign of liberation to use your sexuality to command the highest bidder.

Of course in each one of these equations there is a flip side. The much older, rich guy looking to settle down with a woman the age of his daughter, if he has any.

I’m not passing judgement on either side, only noticing that when it comes to mating practices at the upper end of the socio-economic spectrum we really haven’t progressed much beyond Downton Abbey, as much as we’d like to pretend that we have.

George Clooney brought his charming smile, sense of humor, and girlfriend Stacy Keibler backstage to the press room after winning best actor in a drama at the Golden Globes in LA this evening. His The Descendants also took home best dramatic picture, so it was a triumphant night for George. In between his typical funny quips and jokes, George chatted about going up against his friend Brad Pitt this award season and what he thinks fellow nominee Ryan Gosling is getting up to in Thailand. Check it out:

On any award season rivalry or wagers with Brad: I’ll tell you quite honestly: the truth of the matter is, Brad is my friend. I've never felt competition with him. I've only felt a great deal of friendship and support from him and for him. We don’t wager. We don’t bet. We just look at each other and slap each other on the back and wish each other the best because he's a friend.

On why people connect to this film: Alexander Payne knows how to tell a story. It's a coming-of-age film for a 50-year-old. A lot of us have dealt with issues or people like that. I have people coming up to me all the time. I think it touches a lot of people like that.

On Ryan Gosling being a no-show: He's in Thailand or something, and you know what you do in Thailand. He wrote me a nice email this morning and I found out that he wasn’t able to be here. It happens, you gotta work. He's gotta make a living, he's a struggling actor.

On adopting dogs: I've always had dogs. I've almost always had them out of the pound. Seems like a good place. They have a lot of them. It brings me a lot of joy to do it and they seem like the happiest dogs in the game. I only have one, but he eats for, like, four.

On the honor of being nominated: Both of these films [The Ides of March and The Descendants] being nominated, was three years of work and three years of things that mattered to me. What I really remember and what I do this for is filmmaking. I love being a part of film. I know film history. In 1976 there was All the President's Men, Bound for Glory, Network, Taxi Driver and there was Rocky, which won. But I remember all five of those films. The acknowledgement is unbelievably nice and complimentary, but that’s not why I do it.

Memorable moments from tonight's Globes: Here’s two moments that really struck me: I am in awe of Sidney Poitier. When he walks out on stage and he’s there to present, and he gets the longest standing ovation, earned, I found that to be very emotional to everyone in the audience. And the other is Jane Fonda in that dress. My god. She looked great, didn’t she?

On Ricky's hosting: I thought he did a great job. I think tonight was a much tougher gig because there's so much build-up to it. It's almost like how rough can you go at that point. I thought he handled tonight like a proper good host, again. It was fun. People were expecting a lot of trash talk. He did what he does, and he does it well. He makes me laugh.

On Mitt Romney's anti-gay stance: Well I’m not much concerned until there is an actual nominee, but I think it’s the wrong side of history. I think everyone understand it's the last leg of the civil rights issue. It's certainly not the wedge issue it was in 2004.
