Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "Dance With Somebody"

This week's Glee kicks off with a goose-bump-inducing rendition of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" by Rachel, Mercedes, Santana, and Kurt, and it's just the beginning of an episode full of some of my favorite performances of this season. The kids are still grieving Houston's death, and Emma points out that it's partially due to the fact that they're having a rough time dealing with the impending transition of graduation. Schue suggests a Whitney-themed assignment, and we all benefit, getting some sentimental but hugely entertaining numbers.

A couple of relationships are tested, but I'm most pleasantly surprised by the blossoming of a new romance that seems to come out of nowhere. Let's talk about those moments and more after the jump.

Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Rachel Zoe Step Out For a Charitable Cause

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were together in LA for yesterday's John Varvatos Stuart House benefit, which raises funds for the rape treatment center at Santa Monica-UCLA hospital. Dave Matthews performed, and Leslie Mann cohosted a silent auction with husband Judd Apatow. The annual event also brought out Hollywood couples like a loved-up Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, as well as Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman. Rachel and Rodger made the rounds with their almost 1-year-old son Skyler, who celebrates his first birthday on March 22. Zoe Saldana also turned out during a break from shooting Star Trek, as did Harry Potter's Tom Felton with girlfriend Jade Olivia, and True Blood hottie Joe Manganiello. Joe spoke with us on the red carpet about his upcoming shirtless scenes in Magic Mike - make sure to check out PopSugar Rush later today.

Nina and Ian are in California during a break from working on The Vampire Diaries in Atlanta. The Vampire Diaries cast was at Paley Fast on Saturday, but yesterday's highlight for Ian was meeting Alice Cooper. He tweeted about the magnitude of meeting his former idol, writing, "What a weekend . . . I use to air guitar that dude when I was a youngster." Nina, meanwhile, had another connection to Rachel Zoe. At the Paley panel, Nina donned a black dress from the Rachel Zoe Collection. Nina told us that she was hopping on a plane right after the Varvatos event to return to her and Ian's Georgia set.

Black Swan

Natalie Portman stars as Nina Sayers, an uptight ballerina who gets cast as the lead in a production of Swan Lake. When she encounters a rival dancer (Mila Kunis) who possesses the sexuality that she lacks, Nina's emotional state unravels. Director Darren Aronofsky's thriller is a beautifully artistic albeit disturbing effort, but Portman is the star of the show. She swept award season - an Oscar included - and the film is worth renting for her performance alone. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and a look at the costume and production design for the film.

Tangled

Mandy Moore and Chuck's Zachary Levi put their voices to song in this fresh, fun spin on the story of Rapunzel. The Disney film tells the classic tale of the girl who let down her hair, except this time, Rapunzel (Moore) is more of a headstrong heroine than a damsel in distress. When she meets Flynn Ryder (Levi), a rebel on the run, the two bust Rapunzel out of her tower and form a friendship. Though it may be intended for the little ones, Tangled charms all ages with its sweetness. DVD extras include a retrospective montage featuring Disney's 50 animated films, deleted scenes, and a making-of featurette.

Fair Game

Naomi Watts and Sean Penn star in the true story of "Plamegate," when the government supposedly leaked CIA operative Valerie Plame (Watts)'s cover after her husband Joe Wilson (Sean Penn) wrote an op-ed piece against the Bush administration (check out the trailer again here). Even though some critics weren't sold on the thriller, Naomi Watts turns in a powerful performance as the lead. The bonus material includes a commentary with the real-life Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson.
