Since we're coming upon the time of year when lots of folks bring home that special someone to meet the family, I thought the Ben Stiller comedy Meet the Parents would be a fun movie to recast.

Away We Go starts with a sex scene. There's no nudity, it's not overtly graphic, but it's unexpected and a bit jarring. It's certainly not the overture I was predicting.

The networks have announced their Fall schedules, but which series will actually be worth watching? Throughout the Summer, as I watch the pilots, I'll be posting my first impressions. Note that a lot can change before a show actually makes it to air, so these aren't reviews, just quick thoughts on how the shows look now.

The CW wrapped up network Upfront week this morning by presenting its schedule for Fall 2009. And it's about what was expected, especially after the first photos leaked out yesterday: the three new series in the Fall lineup are Vampire Diaries, the Melrose Place reboot, and The Beautiful Life.
In terms of scheduling, Melrose will air on Tuesdays after 90210 (remake city!), while Beautiful Life gets the post-America's Next Top Model slot on Wednesdays (model city!).

On the heels of ABC's announcements, NBC has declared what its Fall schedule will look like, with some shows not returning to the network and new original programming coming in. We'd already heard much of NBC's news, but here are some interesting tidbits from today:
- NBC has dropped My Name Is Earl and Medium, though it's possible other networks may pick those up. CBS appears fairly likely to snag Medium while Earl could land at Fox or ABC.
- Chuck fans will have to wait until after the 2010 Olympics to get their fix, as the show won't return until February 2010.

I don't know about you, but I fell asleep with the images from the Lost season finale swirling in my head and woke up thinking about it, and my dreams were probably all Lost, all the time, too. I'm still confused — but almost in a good way — and feeling pretty satisfied. As far as season finales go, I think this one is pretty kickass.

NBC revealed a big chunk of its primetime plans for next TV season this morning, announcing six new dramas, four comedies, and four renewed series. But it left a lot of questions open, too — including the fate of Chuck and Law and Order and when all of these shows will fit on the new primetime schedule.
Those answers are supposed to come May 19 — the same week the rest of the networks will announce their schedules.

As pilot season continues in Hollywood, I've got a fresh round of casting news, including Scott Wolf's next TV job and some plans for the new Melrose Place. Check it:
- Scott Wolf has been cast in ABC's remake of V, which is about aliens known as "the visitors" trying to take over Earth. Wolf's role is as a TV newscaster who begins to spread the aliens' messages.
