Ever since Precious (previously known as Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire) took this year's Sundance Film Festival by storm, I've been waiting anxiously for this trailer. The movie stars Mo'Nique as a mother who constantly berates and emotionally abuses her daughter, played by newcomer Gabourey Sidibe.
The trailer makes this movie look absolutely brutal and emotionally intense — but Oprah and Tyler Perry teamed up to help get it distributed, which makes me hopeful that there's some uplifting content along the way.

Those funny ladies of GoFugYourself recently used a phrase that cracked me up. In describing From Justin to Kelly, the amazingly bad movie starring the first American Idol winner and her trusty runner-up, they said it was one of the "best terrible movies ever made."
Of course this got me thinking about all the terrible movies out there and my mind zoomed straight to the cinematic train wreck that is Mariah Carey's Glitter.

Here's the good thing I can say about Tennessee: The effort behind the film is commendable. "A" for effort. "D" for most everything else.

- In addition to ABC's Thursday night lineup returning from the strike-induced break, the CW got its teen (and slacker) drama on with the return of Gossip Girl and a new episode of Reaper. One magazine even crowned GG the best show ever, but what show do you think reigns supreme over all teenage dramas?
- Guess what? I'm off to the Tribeca Film Festival and am so excited and curious to see some of the movies I've been previewing all week, including a film with Mariah Carey in it.
