Who doesn't love a little ice cream? Rachel Bilson certainly does, as she is starring in a series of Magnum ice cream videos shot by Karl Lagerfeld. And while we too were surprised by the A-list director and star teaming up for an ice cream commercial, we can only deduce that this ice cream must be REALLY DELICIOUS. The European brand will be debuting in the US this Spring; for now we'll tease you with a (non-edible, unfortunately) behind-the-scenes video of Rachel and Karl's dramatic collaboration.

Could You See Matthew McConaughey as Magnum?

According to EW, Matthew McConaughey has been offered the role of Thomas Magnum in a film version of the 1980s hit show. He's reportedly reading the script now and will make a decision soon.

Made iconic by the mustached Tom Selleck, Magnum is many things: a ladies' man, a former US Navy Seal who served during the Vietnam War, a best friend, a thorn in Higgins' side. Most of all, Magnum is not afraid to tango with the bad guys of Hawaii and drives a Ferrari.

Photography Lessons Learned From Eve Arnold

American photojournalist Eve Arnold passed away last week at the age of 99. A Philadelphia native, Arnold spent her life traveling, bringing back images from remote and dangerous parts of the world for Life magazine (among others), which earned her the title of the first woman to join famed Magnum Photos agency in 1955. Arnold didn't want to be known as a "woman photographer" though, and just as well, she may be most renowned for building quite the rapport with her subjects. She told BBC in a 2002 interview that "if you're careful with people and if you respect their privacy, they will offer part of themselves that you can use." It's this attitude that helped her capture some of the most intimate images of Marilyn Monroe to date, which she compiled into a book dedicated to the actress.

Ice Cream Inspires Minx Manicures at Fashion Week

Ice cream and manicures might not seem like a natural pairing, but they were just that at yesterday's Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference in New York. Dozens of style bloggers (including yours truly) were treated to manicures inspired by the brown and black colors of Magnum ice cream. Nail guru Lisa Logan, who's decorated the digits of stars like Beyoncé and Eve, had nearly run through her supply of patterned Minx. Why was the crowd melting for the look, we wondered? "People like something different and fun for Fashion Week," she said of her fish-scale design customized with Magnum's colors. "And let's face it, people like ice cream, too." Can't argue with that.

Welcome to our new series A Day in the Life, where we examine at what it's like to be a professional in the food industry. In honor of the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, we look at a day in the life of Kate Krader. As the magazine's restaurant editor, Kate is a girl about town and friend to many chefs. Here's what she did yesterday, Thursday, June 15.

Disclaimer: This is not a normal day in my life. This is the first day of Aspen.

6:30 a.m.: I woke up at 6:30, which is earlier than normal for me at my house in Brooklyn. There was a car waiting to take me to the Westchester airport. I don't normally go to this airport.

7:30 a.m.: I was in the car for one hour, which is too much time to be in the car. Last year for the Classic, we got two private planes that flew direct from New York to Aspen with a bunch of chefs. This year it was the same, so I boarded a Bombardier Global with Michael Symon, Jonathan Waxman, Daniel Boulud, Paul Grieco (he's a sommelier at Terroir), Michael White, Danny Meyer, Marcus Samuelsson, and a bunch more people.

10:30 a.m.: Wheels were up at 10:30, and the plane was super deluxe. This is going to sound obnoxious, but it's true: the Krug wasn't chilled, so we had to wait for it to chill. They had these great vegetables and dip and an awesome caprese salad with burrata. The tomatoes were really ripe. You can do whatever you want on a private plane. You can watch TV or hang in the bedroom. The cool thing about the Bombardier plane is that they can change the pressure in the cabin so that the food actually tastes really good. When you fly in a normal plane, the cabin pressure changes the way things taste; food tastes duller, bad. But in a private plane, they can change it so it tastes good.

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen had a laugh over lunch today in LA, as they grabbed a casual bite from a food truck. They're back in LA following a romantic getaway to the Caribbean late last month. Rachel Bilson wore a bikini during their Barbados vacation, which came hot on the heels of the couple's trip to NYC. Hayden was by Rachel's side as she headed east to debut Karl Lagerfeld-directed Magnum ice cream ads at the Tribeca Film Festival. They took advantage of their opportunity to spend some time beachside and in the Big Apple before Rachel gets back to work this Fall. Her new TV show, Hart of Dixie, will debut on the CW, and she got a head start promoting the fish-out-of-water series with her network costars at the upfronts last week.

Rachel Bilson, Blake Lively, and Vanessa Paradis were among the beautiful women who fêted Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld at a dinner on Saturday night in France. Rachel was recently directed by Karl in a series of short films for ice cream company Magnum, which the duo debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival. She joined Chanel Mademoiselle's latest spokesperson, Blake, at the event. Blake was also on Karl's arm for the Met Gala in NYC last week, where she wore a couture design from the line. The Gossip Girl star may be one of his latest inspirations, but he also had plenty of old friends join him for the weekend's festivities. Vanessa Paradis, Johnny Depp's longtime partner and another frequent face of the fashion house, was also in attendance. Johnny was around the world the same night for the international premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at Disneyland. The actor spent lots of time signing autographs for fans, and even hugged several of his admirers, before the entire cast headed in to watch the movie on a massive 3D screen constructed just for the big debut.
