Jessica Biel Mounting Kilimanjaro Today

Keep your thoughts with Jessica Biel today as she sets out on her trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. Biel won't be alone, though - Lupe Fiasco, Emile Hirsch, and Isabel Lucas are just a few of the notables joining her on this fundraising climb for Summit on the Summit.

Summit on the Summit is hoping the celebrity-filled trek will raise money, as well as bring awareness to the growing need for clean drinking water worldwide. Folks are encouraged to sponsor the climb via the Summit on the Summit's interactive website, which will also be tracking the progress of Biel and the rest of the team as they trek 20,000 feet up the Tanzanian mountain.

The journey is expected to last a week, with each team member carrying about 30 pounds of supplies in their backpacks. Training began months ago, and though it's not a hard climb in terms of technical expertise, the altitude and low temperature of the climb can make it extremely difficult - shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue are not uncommon in these kinds of environments. Every record label hopes its latest discovery will be the next big thing. But Downtown Records might be right about Kevin Michael. After all, this is the label that brought us Gnarls Barkley and "Crazy," so we know Downtown has a knack for turning ultra-catchy songs into ubiquitous hits.

Kevin Michael is a 22-year-old R&B singer from Philly who takes his cues from Wyclef Jean and Stevie Wonder. He just released his first EP, Ya Dig?, on iTunes, complete with an addictive lead single called "We All Want the Same Thing" featuring Lupe Fiasco. It's been stuck in my head, happily, for days. Kevin's debut album won't hit stores until August, but another one of his songs will be featured in an upcoming episode of "Entourage." Announcing the 2012 Grammy Award Nominations

For the second year in a row, the Recording Academy has given a hip-hop artist the most Grammy nominations. Last year, it was rapper Eminem with eight, and this year, Kanye West leads the nominees with seven chances at the golden gramophone, including a song of the year nod for "All of the Lights." West is also nominated twice in the rap album of the year category for his collaboration with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne and his own album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brit crooner Adele wasn't far behind Kanye, picking up six nominations for her album 21, as well as a shot at song of the year with "Rolling in the Deep."

Bruno Mars also did well, racking up six nominations (that's down one from last year for those keeping track), while newcomers like Nicki Minaj and dubstep artist Skrillex are up for the best new artist category. Announcing the 2011 MTV VMA Nominees

MTV has released its list for this year's MTV VMAs, and there are a few staple artists with multiple nominations, like Eminem, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, but there are lots of newer musicians blowing up the list this year too. Take Adele, who's up for best female video, best pop video, and video of the year for her hit "Rolling in the Deep," and Nicki Minaj, who broke into the best female video and best hip hop video categories for "Super Bass."
