Shia Breaks For a Global Press Tour to Talk About His Girlfriend, Spielberg's Advice, and Tom Cruise

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon cast was busy over the weekend, with Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in silver Naeem Khan, kicking off a string of premieres and photo calls at a Berlin event on Saturday. The whole gang was together in Germany, with Shia and Rosie joining Michael Bay, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson at the city's Cinestar theater. They split up afterward, though, with a Burberry-clad Rosie and Michael heading to London to walk a blue carpet yesterday, Patrick saying hi to French fans, and Tyrese tackling Madrid. They'll be together in NYC in just a few days, so Shia, Rosie, and Michael can do more interviews. It's the third press tour for some of the guys, and Shia recently touched on the evolution of his friendship with Michael. Shia LaBeouf's girlfriend Karolyn Pho was another topic of conversation in an interview with The LA Times, and he shared some advice he's received from mentor Steven Spielberg. Shia said:

On Michel Bay: "[He's] sort of my big brother . . . We're both very game, very passionate people. Sometimes it's not actor-director. Sometimes it's two dudes yelling over explosions. Sometimes it doesn't sound like the friendliest conversation. But we love each other."
On his girlfriend Karolyn's influence: "Pâté? A cheese plate? That's a very 25-year-old deal. I can get down with some fig jelly and some cheese on a cracker . . . She's having me try different things. I was scared of fish, 'cause of my upbringing, being Jewish. Gefilte can ruin your entire seafood life."
On advice from Steven Spielberg: "The way Steven described it to me was, 'When Tom Cruise walks outside his house, he doesn't pick his nose. From the minute he leaves his door to the minute he comes back home, he doesn't pick his nose.' Now that's a certain way to live your life that I have no ambitions toward."

Sienna and Channing Rise and Shine in Seoul

Sienna Miller and Channing Tatum were up earlier today in Seoul to keep on promoting their film GI Joe. They joined costar Lee Byung-hun for a press conference and photo call, which came right on the heels of their appearance in Tokyo on Monday. Sienna smiled as the cameras snapped away, but apparently she's not loving her character's action figure. Sienna said, "My doll is cross-eyed and has the biggest chin you have ever seen. . . She looks sort of possessed." While Sienna's not one to keep her opinions to herself, she can at least take comfort in the fact that she's rocked some fab looks on her worldwide press tour.

Marky Mark's Marine Training Made Him Tougher

Mark is on a world tour to promote Shooter and this time he stopped off in Berlin. Marky Mark is still looking buff these days but he apparently didn't love the real Marine training he had to go through in preparation for the film. He said, "I didn't enjoy it at all. I pretended to enjoy it, I acted like I was going to like it, but I'm pretty lazy and it was very intense. Once you're on their turf they like to push you around a little bit. They like to test you and see if you're man enough to handle it or they'll call your agent - so I toughed it out."

Somehow we can't imagine that he's able to look that good and still be lazy. Besides this is the man who was hanging on my wall in his underwear all throughout my high school years (and then some). I guess being a father of two has made him want to be lazy when he can. Can't blame him, especially if he still looks as great as he does today.

Movie Preview: Shooter

Earlier this week I brought you the awesome news that Mark Wahlberg may star in a movie based on the GI Joe cartoon series. First, however, he has to promote a little film called Shooter, which had its Hollywood premiere last night.

Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura - who will also produce GI Joe, by the way - Shooter is an action/thriller that follows an ex-military sniper with a ridiculously manly name: Bob Lee Swagger. Swagger's living in exile when he learns of a plot to assasinate the president and reluctantly returns to service. He's framed for the attempt, however, and has to elude the authorities while seeking revenge on the people who double-crossed him.

Check out the trailer for Shooter, which opens March 23. My favorite part about the trailer is the fact that Swagger taught his dog how to bring him beer. To watch,

Marky Mark: A Real American Hero

Rumor has it that Mark Wahlberg might play a lead role in a live-action film based on the "GI Joe" cartoon series. Popular with children of the '80s, "GI Joe" brought to life Hasbro's toy line. Wahlberg would play Duke, or First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser, one of the American soldiers fighting against terrorist organization COBRA.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura just completed production on Shooter, another film starring Wahlberg and has already approached Marky Mark about the GI Joe project. For all the details,

IESB quotes Wahlberg as saying: "I'll do whatever Lorenzo wants me to do; it really depends on the script, obviously, but it's a cool idea. He says it's going to be kick ass, so yeah."

Perhaps di Bonaventura has '80s cartoon hits on the brain: He is also producing the upcoming film version of "Transformers." What's next a "Jem and the Holograms" movie? Wait a minute, that would be awesome! I'd cast Kirsten Bell to play Jem. Who would you pick?
