Environmentalist extraordinaire and star of hit eco show Living With Ed, Ed Begley Jr. recently chatted with Green Muze about his ideas for green living. Ed also shared his ideas for the top five ways that people can go green. Many of them are surprisingly easy! Check out Ed's ideas below.

Get out of your car as much as you can. Walk, take public transportation, or ride a bike as much as you can.
Get energy-efficient lighting for your house. The earth and your wallet will both thank you.
Put weather stripping up around your doors and windows, making your home tight and efficient.
Start a compost container or pile, and use it for starting a home garden - it will deliver great food through a great pastime. If you live in an apartment, get part of a community garden!
Practice the 3 Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle.

It's Not Easy "Living with Ed"

When I heard Ed Begley Jr. was getting his own reality show, my first reaction was a slack-jawed "seriously?" Begley, the earnest "St. Elsewhere" star who makes me laugh even when he's not trying to be funny, wasn't high on my list of celebrities whose lives I'm dying to explore.

But "Living with Ed," Begley's new HGTV show, looks like it could surprise me. Begley's a totally committed environmentalist who's known for riding his bike to Hollywood events, and the show focuses on life at his little California house, where he powers his lights with solar panels and times his wife while she's in the shower.

Begley's fervent commitment to a green lifestyle has been a Hollywood punchline for a while - I mean, the man lent his name to a natural cleaning product. Basically, he's his "Six Feet Under" character, the outdoorsy, electric-car-driving Hiram - only more extreme. When I saw the dead-serious picture of him meditating on the "Living with Ed" site, I figured the show would be way too preachy. But the video clips actually made me laugh, so

The clips on the show's MySpace page are pretty funny, thanks to Rachelle Carson, Begley's wife, who keeps it real while her husband rhapsodizes about his lifestyle. He shows off his solar oven; she points out she has to plan her cooking days in advance. He gushes about how he can eat straight from his garden; she admits the apples are pretty sour.

Of course, green living is serious business (see also An Inconvenient Truth), and I'm all for finding ways to make a difference - even if Begley's model is a little extreme. "Living with Ed" looks like it could make me chuckle while also giving me a few environmental tips, so I might have to check out an episode or two. What about you? Ed Helms will swing by Saturday Night Live this weekend to take the stage as host for the first time. I'm expecting greatness from the funny man, who seems to have no trouble bringing the laughs on The Office and on the big screen. If these promos are any indication, he should fit in seamlessly with the rest of the cast - watch as he and Fred Armisen banter back and forth, hug it out, and do their best to complete a high five.

Leighton Meester Hangs With Blake, Ed, and a Royal Prince

Leighton Meester was on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC this morning walking arm in arm once again with Hugo Becker, the actor who plays Blair Waldorf's royal love interest. The actress has been busy in the Big Apple since she was off promoting The Roommate last month, but things in her personal life have become complicated - her mother, Constance, was recently accused of making death threats against a woman and her son in LA. Leighton still has been all about work this week, and she had a fresh-from-London Blake Lively on hand to shoot yesterday with Ed Westwick. Ed's equally in-demand with his big- and small-screen projects, as he plans to join Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer on the set of J. Edgar at some point next month.

Blake Lively Goes From Chanel to Filming Gossip Girl With Penn, Ed, and Chace

Blake Lively covered up a fancy gown with a warm jacket on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC yesterday. She returned to the East Coast after a quick trip to Paris where she shopped with Christian Louboutin and celebrated as the face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbag line. Her first ad for the brand was just released, and it features the actress holding one of their famous quilted purses. Blake's taking a break from her Chanel duties as she gets back to filming, but she'll continue to be surrounded by luxurious clothing and accessories as her small-screen character, Serena van der Woodsen. Her costar, Ed Westwick, enjoyed his own dress-up day wearing a tux for the cameras while Penn Badgley chose warmth over style. Penn also shared scenes with Connor Paolo and Chace Crawford. Jessica Szohr rounded out the group, though there was no sign of Leighton Meester.

Almost four years after Sarah Palin told Katie Couric she couldn't recall the specific newspapers she reads, the two are going head to head again. This morning, Sarah and Katie are hosting rival morning shows. Liberal-media critic Sarah is this morning's guest host on NBC's Today, while longtime Today show host Katie is cohosting ABC's Good Morning America all week. No, this is not a leftover April Fools' Day joke. If you turned on your TV this morning to see Sarah Palin and wondered what she's been up to lately, here is a rundown.

Keeping up the heat on Obama. She may be out of politics officially, but you can still count on Sarah Palin to weigh in on the day's politics. Last week Sarah said, "President Obama will have ‘more flexibility’ to weaken us if he’s reelected in November."
Backing up Santorum. When GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum accused a New York Times reporter of "bullsh*t" Sarah had his back. She said, “Welcome to my world, Rick, and good on ya."
Handling the Game Change drama. Last month, HBO released its high-profile movie about the 2008 campaign, Game Change, with Julianne Moore playing Sarah Palin. In response, Sarah wrote to ABC News: “I believe my family has the right priorities and knows what really matters/ For instance, our son called from Afghanistan yesterday and he sounded good, and that’s what matters. Being in the good graces of Hollywood’s ‘Team Obama’ isn’t top of my list."
Keeping up with her Facebook friends. If you follow Sarah Palin's Facebook page, you can count on a steady stream of musings. On March 24, she wrote a Facebook note claiming that Alaskan women don't tolerate sexism, titled Last Frontier Women Don’t Tolerate Misogynists. "I personally do not seek an apology from these narrow-minded men. With a full family and productive 'to-do' list everyday, I just don’t have time for them. But I do feel sorry for them and for their obvious need to compensate for something that’s missing in their own lives, which compels them to belittle others in order to feel big," Sarah quipped.
Working for Fox. It's somewhat surprising Sarah Palin is going on NBC, considering she's been a contributor for Fox News. Just last week, she wrote an op-ed on Fox Nation, titled God, Guns, the Constitution – Still Clinging.
Being nominated for a Razzie. At this past weekend's Razzies, Sarah was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award as worst actress on account of her performance in the documentary The Undefeated, which chronicled her political career. She lost to Jack and Jill, which took home every single Razzie.

Last night, Gilt hosted a beautiful event at The Standard hotel in NYC to celebrate Brian Atwood's new collection, and not only did we get to check out the gorgeous clutch collection in person, but we also got up close and personal with the designer himself and chatted about his new line, his most memorable red-carpet moments, and his best friend, and Oscar nominee, Melissa McCarthy. FabSugar: What was the inspiration behind your beautiful new handbag collection?
Brian Atwood: It was about being surrounded by amazing women, seeing what their needs were. It was about taking that DNA and excitement from what I put into my shoes into a bag and thinking what would that bag look like, how do we make it cool, gorgeous, and showstopping? It's only the beginning, I'm having so much fun.

FS: What are some of your most memorable red-carpet moments?
BA: The first red carpet I had was with Debra Messing at the 2002 SAG Awards. I had no idea, I think she bought them, and someone told me she was wearing my shoes. That's when you really understand the power of the red carpet; it was pretty amazing. Cameron Diaz also wore [my shoes] at the Oscars with a dress which was short in front and long in back. I thought that was perfect. And now we have the shoe cam, I love the shoe cam!

Blake Lively and Crew Get Down to Business While Filming Gossip Girl in NYC

Blake Lively was layered up while filming Gossip Girl on the streets of NYC yesterday. The actress, who was spotted on set in Brooklyn last week, teamed up with costars Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, and Leighton Meester to continue shooting scenes for the show's fifth season. Blake kept warm in a black puffer coat, colorful scarf, and Ugg boots while waiting for her cue, then changed into a more Serena van der Woodsen-worthy peacoat and flats.

Recently on the show, Blair was forced to choose between two men, though it looks like she's still keeping in touch with Chuck Bass. Serena is at her own crossroads as well since she's now in possession of Gossip Girl's famous computer, though we have yet to see whether she embraces her new role. Gossip Girl stars Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick reported to set in NYC yesterday. Leighton, dressed in a floral frock, mary jane pumps, and a yellow coat, looked right on trend for the first day of Spring. Chuck Bass, played by Ed, arrived in character wearing a bold printed tie and perfectly tailored suit.

It's been a few weeks since we saw Blair Waldorf choose Dan Humphrey over Chuck, but when the show returns on April 2 there's sure to be lots of OMG moments to discuss. We'll also find out if Blake Lively's character, Serena van der Woodsen, betrays her closest friends and family by assuming the role of Gossip Girl.
