For this week's movie quoting challenge, I got inspired by Reese Witherspoon's Generations Award at last week's MTV Movie Awards. I love Witherspoon's movies, but I don't think I've ever been more entertained by her than in Legally Blonde. As Elle Woods, she's girlie, sassy, and smart - and totally quotable. What Do You Think About Movies Made Into Stage Musicals?

Earlier this week, Pop had pictures of some of the ladies from "The Hills" in New York for an event in which MTV filmed the Broadway stage musical production of "Legally Blonde". The show will air next Saturday, September 29. This whole thing got me thinking about the whole concept of making movies into stage musicals.

There have been plenty of these in recent years, from High Fidelity to Young Frankenstein and, soon enough in New York, Dirty Dancing.

What do you think about taking successful films and adapting them for musical theater?

What's Buzzworthy? College Movies

Now that we're easing into autumn, it's time for many folks to return to the hallowed school halls of and greenly college quads. For those of us who aren't returning to school, we can at least relive those bygone days by popping in a college-themed film and enjoying some youthful - and usually ill-advised adventures.

For this week's Buzzworthy challenge, tell me all about your favorite college movies. Some of my picks include the raunchy classic Animal House, the adorable Legally Blonde and of course, Old School.

Colin Hanks Joins Anna Faris in Playboy Comedy

It looks like the writers of Legally Blonde are returning to the subject matter they know quite a lot about: sorority life. But this time the untitled project written by Blonde writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith will focus on both Playboy bunnies and sorority sisters. Anna Faris was quickly cast as the central character, and now there are several more joining her, including Colin Hanks to play Faris' love interest.

According to Hollywood Reporter:

The script...centers on a Playboy bunny (Faris) who gets kicked out of the Playboy Mansion and becomes the house mother to the lamest sorority on a college campus.

Hanks is the male lead in the film, playing Faris' love interest. [Monet] Mazur ("Torque") will play an evil Playboy bunny, while [Kiely] Williams will play a member of the lame sorority, one who suffers from extreme shyness and communicates via notes and texts. [Tyson] Ritter is a frat guy who is more than he seems, while [Owen] Benjamin is a butler seduced by Mazur. [Beverly] D'Angelo ("Entourage") is the house mom of the bitchy sorority, of which [Rachel] Specter ("Lonely Hearts") is a part.

I was just wondering where the female-led comedies were, and here we have another one lined up. I think Faris and Hanks make an adorable, albeit goofy couple, and I can't wait to learn more about it like, you know, the title.

Awesome Opening Title Sequences

I recently came across this list of the top 10 opening title sequences in movies, compiled by laboratory101.com. Granted, many of them are truly awesome: I have a particular fondness for the opening scenes of Snatch. Yet, I couldn't help noticing that they are basically all crime, horror, or gangster movies: Casino, Dawn of the Dead, Fight Club, Seven, etc. It got me thinking: Aren't there good opening sequences to movies that aren't violent?

Here are some of my picks for really well-done or entertaining opening sequences. What others can you think of?

Love Actually
I know I’ve said this before, but the footage of real people greeting each other at the airport is as heartwarming as a Kodak commercial, and even more so because it’s real.

Drop Dead Gorgeous
One of my all-time favorite films, Drop Dead Gorgeous opens with the promotional video for the Sarah Rose Cosmetics American Teen Princess Pageant, featuring "last year's host," Adam West. I particularly enjoy the programmed robot voice inserting "beautiful Mount Rose, Minnesota" to personalize the video.

read more Little Miss Sunshine A fantastic introduction to each of the family members, starting with Olive carefully studying Miss America footage. The Wedding Singer Adam Sandler sings "You Spin Me Right Round" while wedding guests enjoy themselves. Legally Blonde Yes, that's right, Legally Blonde. It may not be the most life-changing of films, but I find this first sequence silly and entertaining: images of stereotypical sorority life intermingled with shots of Elle getting ready for her date, all to the tune of "Perfect Day." Note the bottle of blonde hair dye on Elle's vanity table!

Selma Blair Not Worried About Her Baby Weight

The pressure in Hollywood to bounce back and lose the baby weight sometimes seems like a competition, but one new mom is not playing the game. Selma Blair, known for the movie series Hellboy, my personal fave Legally Blonde, and her latest film Dark Horse, says she didn't have time to hit the gym after having her son, Arthur Saint Bleick, in late July. She told Us Weekly:

"I actually haven't lost any weight since the day I left the hospital. I still weigh the exact same number. I haven't really been focusing on that at all, because I've been running around to different things like Toronto [International Film Festival] and Venice [Film Festival]."

She still looks pretty darn amazing for having had a baby almost eight weeks ago. Her secret? The 39-year-old actress says, "I've been following Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet. It helps with my clarity and endurance. In a few weeks I think I'll start getting into [the gym] when things slow down a bit - it'll be Pilates in L.A.!"

I find Selma's attitude refreshing. I don't know about you, but this makes me feel better about wearing my maternity jeans until well after my daughter's two-month birthday!

Buzz In: What's Your Favorite Musical Based on a Movie?

Raise the stage curtain for another movie turned musical: Big Fish is getting the Broadway treatment. It's easy to see why the Tim Burton film would make its way to the stage, what with its fanciful scenes and larger-than-life story. Big Fish is hardly the first movie to inspire a Broadway production - in recent years, Elf, The Wedding Singer, even the documentary Grey Gardens have been adapted into musicals.

Films are an easy enough place to get inspiration, and often times it works; sometimes the show is just as good as the original. Such is the case with the last movie-turned-musical that I loved: Legally Blonde, which managed to make a cute movie an equally fun show. Now it's your turn - what's your favorite musical based on a movie?
