Lauren says that she loves being on the move whether it's in spin class, at Pilates, or her recent ski vacation with boyfriend (and costar), Peter Krause.

It's Kind of a Funny Story: Kinda Funny, Kinda Slow

The Hangover put Zach Galifiankis on the map, thanks to his oddball character and hilarious one-liners, but It's Kind of a Funny Story lets him break out of that stereotype to show us something we haven't really witnessed before: his serious side.

Galifianakis stars as Bobby, a patient at a hospital's psychiatric ward who heads up a group of mental misfits. Bobby is the floor's unofficial host of sorts, so when he comes across Craig (Keir Gilchrist), he immediately takes the kid under his wing. Craig is a teenage boy with major anxiety issues (he projectile vomits whenever he gets stressed). After an all-too-real dream about suicide, Craig admits himself into medical care out of fear that he may be a danger to himself.

Did I mention this is a comedy? Gilchrist may be the movie's protagonist, but it's Galifianakis who keeps the film afloat. For more on what I mean,

Craig is more depressed than the average high school student, but the reason for his sad state is all too common: he's distraught over a girl (Zoe Kravitz). Add in pressure to perform well at school, and Craig's mind constantly races with thoughts of woe. As the viewer, we're let into his head as it jumps between teenage daydreams of starring in MTV's Cribs, flashbacks to childhood with his parents (Lauren Graham and Jim Gaffigan), and future worst-case scenarios. But as for the actual action of the film, not much happens.

While there are some sweet moments, the lack of plot paired with the often-depressing subject matter causes the film to drag, to the point where even the audience might feel a little crazy stuck within the hospital walls. Luckily, the cast musters up enough charm to keep interest. Gilchrist, Emma Roberts (who plays his love interest), and the ensemble of kooky oddballs (including Lost's Jeremy Davies) are quick to endear you to them. A daydream sequence where they bust out a rendition of "Under Pressure" in '80s glam costumes is a particularly fun highlight. But above all, the shining star of the project is Galifianakis.

From the moment that we're first introduced to Bobby in his fake ER doctor getup, it's hard not to chuckle at his hilarious deadpan. However, viewers will also be pleasantly surprised by how easily the comedian switches gears. Bobby isn't just your likeable loser with a screw loose; he has his share of personal problems. The film tries not to dwell too long on these darker subplots, but we get just enough to see that toned-down Galifianakis indeed has the chops to pull off the somber moments.

In the end, his performance is the major takeaway of this film, not its message of normality or the pursuit of happiness. He succeeds in carefully balancing the morose with the comedic, which is something that the film struggles with. Though it succeeds in instances, overall - like its characters - something is a little off.

It's Kind of a Funny Story Trailer: A New Brand of Galifianakis Crazy

Zach Galifianakis has made a name for himself playing offbeat characters, but his comedy comes with a heavy dose of realism in the upcoming It's Kind of a Funny Story. He plays Bobby, a patient at a mental facility who becomes a mentor of sorts to Craig, a teenager who is new to the psych ward. The subject matter isn't typical comedy fare, but the trailer puts a lighthearted spin on the neuroses of Craig and Bobby's fellow patients and the relationships between them. Translation: we're not talking about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest here.

In the midst of the jokes, we get a glimpse of the film's underbelly: a story about friendship, love, and just trying to fit in. CBS and NBC Collide For a Fun-Filled TCA Weekend

The TCAs kicked off this weekend in Pasadena with everyone buzzing about Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien's future at NBC. Before that news, on Saturday Peter Facinelli chatted about Nurse Jackie, Twilight, and Twitter. We also got to know the adorable new cast of Life Unexpected, followed by the hot Vampire Diaries - check out a sneak peek of what to expect next. The cast couldn't stop gushing about how much they love working together, and Nina Dobrev was even celebrating a very special 21st birthday. When asked about the rumors that we will see werewolves in the upcoming season, Paul Wesley told us he doesn't know but thinks it would be a fantastic idea.

On Sunday it was all about NBC - the Parks and Recs cast had the whole room laughing, joking about everything from Twitter to the show's critical turnaround in season two, and when asked about a possible crossover with 30 Rock, Amy said, "Well I want to do something with Lost, but they're not NBC." Jerry Seinfeld also took the stage to introduce his new show The Marriage Ref, which follows ordinary couples who need help solving arguments and already has celebrity guest lineups including Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, and Eva Longoria. Of course Jerry couldn't get away without questions on Jay and Conan, to which he said, "I hope Conan stays on NBC, I think he's terrific." We also finally got a chance to check out Ron Howard's Parenthood, which looks great despite cast changes and drama.

At night the stars from NBC hit the red carpet to celebrate the network. Amy Poehler, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Rashida Jones looked beautiful in black, while Community and Mad Men star Alison Brie added a little pink to her red carpet look. We spoke with Alison, who was excited to talk about Jack Black's appearance this Thursday's episode and what she hopes we see from Trudie in Mad Men's next season - more on that later from Buzz. The casts from The Office, Heroes, and Chuck also mingled with each other over cocktails. There's lots more to come, so stay tuned for updates on Twitter.

A Gilmore Girls Movie - Yay or Nay?

You may recall that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator behind Gilmore Girls, left the show shortly before its final season because of disagreements with Warner Bros - but now, she reveals in a recent interview that she'd like to bring back Lorelai and Rory to the big screen!

I hope that some Hollywood studios are listening, and take her up on her suggestion. While it's just a wish of hers (and mine) at the moment, I miss the pop culture quips and sweet relationship moments that the Gilmore women delivered each week. A movie version probably wouldn't be a box office blockbuster, but I'm sure it would help satisfy GG fans who felt disappointed when Sherman-Palladino wasn't around to tie up the show's loose ends when it was still on TV.

Movie Preview: Lauren Graham, Jeff Daniels in The Answer Man

Sometimes a sweet, endearing cast can't save a movie that's just destined to be a dud, but even if I know this is a possibility going into it, I am still too curious to pass up the chance to watch some beloved actors. Just this image of Lauren Graham and Jeff Daniels makes me want to see The Answer Man (also known as Arlen Faber), a little movie that will premiere On Demand June 26 and will have a limited release in theaters starting July 24.

The story sounds pretty straightforward: "A reclusive author of spiritual books, is pursued for advice by a single mother and a man fresh out of rehab." Lou Taylor Pucci plays the troubled man and Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby also appear in the trailer. To check it out,
