John Lennon's life looks like it's heading for the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter writes that a biopic called Nowhere Boy is in the works, to be directed by visual artist Sam Taylor-Wood and written by Matt Greenhalgh, who most recently wrote the Ian Curtis biopic Control.
According to the Reporter, the movie will film in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool and focus on his early years:
Greenhalgh's script details the story of Lennon as a lonely teenager growing up as his aunt and the mother who gave him up fight for his love.

According to the AP, Jared Leto gained 60 pounds to portray John Lennon's assassin in the upcoming Chapter 27, which I've been patiently awaiting ever since Sundance 2007. Physical transformations like Leto's are often the sign of a serious, committed actor. However, Leto's off-screen press has left a sour taste in my mouth (he even slipped off Pop's manjoyment radar).

This is interesting: According to music blog I Am Fuel, You Are Friends, between the years of 1973 and 1975 (a period of time known as The Lost Weekend), John Lennon wandered around working with all sorts of various musicians, like David Bowie, Elton John and Mick Jagger. According to this blogger:
The track he laid down with Mick Jagger was, for a long time, just mythical. In 2003, a London record store owner put an unlabeled record up for auction which he claimed had come originally from Ronnie Wood (guitarist for the Stones) and contained a collaboration cover of Jagger singing the old Willie Dixon blues song, "Too Many Cooks" with Lennon on guitar.

I can't let it go unmentioned that the launch date for BuzzSugar, Dec. 8, also marks the anniversary of the death of John Lennon, one of the world's great musicians and one of my personal favorites. To mark the occasion, I just found a very fitting tribute on Music Like Dirt.
