Last night on Conan, Joel McHale dished on what it was like to film his naked pool-playing scene on Community. Joel got emotional talking about the revealing shoot, especially when discussing wearing the very flimsy "dance belt" in lieu of underwear. Community's Joel McHale Says Jeff's Relationship With Annie "Will Develop Further on the Romantic End of Things"

Community returns for its third season tonight on NBC, bringing along a few new characters - like John Goodman, who plays the vice dean. He joined Community star Joel McHale for an interview with a few reporters, where Goodman talked about his guest role and why he wanted to be part of the show. But what was even more exciting was McHale's juicy scoop about Jeff's relationship with Annie (it's so on) and what else is coming up for the study group.

How will Jeff's relationship with Annie develop?
Joel McHale: Well, I can tell you that that relationship will develop further on the romantic end of things, much to the chagrin of half the audience - at least who comments on message boards, and it’s divided right down the middle. They’ll be like, “Oh, so sweet,” [and the others are] like, “It’s disgusting.”

What other changes are coming for Jeff?
JM: I know that my father will become present in the series. Jeff has a lot of father issues, and so that will be dealt with. And according to Dan, my character’s [going] to kind of be put through hell, so I’m really looking forward to taking the journey.

Do you have a personal opinion on who Jeff should be with, Annie or Britta?
JM: No, wow. Wow, in my personal opinion, geez. That’s a good question. I had not thought about that. You know, when it comes to that I trust Dan implicitly and, with Jeff, he’s a very uncommitted and guarded man. He’s got a lot of issues going on, and you know he’s going to be more gravitated to Annie this year. But, if it’s my personal choice then I guess it would have to be - boy, I don’t know, that’s a good [question] - probably anybody from the WNBA.

Tell us about the musical number that we’ve seen in the preview.
JM: It is an over the top, very large musical number with crane shots and streamers and explosions, and the entire school is involved. I don’t want to say the reason for it, but let’s just say that I did pull a couple hamstrings and I was hoarse afterwards, but believe it’s going to - it’s the first thing you’ll see in the premiere episode, and if that doesn’t grab your attention then we’re in big trouble.

Of the new guest stars (John, Michael K. Williams, and Martin Starr) who is shaking things up the most?
JM: Oh, boy. Well, John is terribly disruptive. He parked his car on the stage and said, “This is my parking space."

NBC Toasts Its Fall Lineup With John, Jenna, Rashida, and Many More Stars

The stars of NBC's shows, both old and new, gathered last night in LA to toast the upcoming season. Some actors from perennial hits of the network like Community and The Office welcomed the newcomers. Joel McHale horsed around with his costar Alison Brie, while John Krasinski and Ed Helms played together on the carpet. Rashida Jones will be back in Parks and Recreation, while Yvonne Strahovski and Zachary Levi will bring more Chuck. Christina Applegate is set to have her debut in just a few weeks when Up All Night airs, and another premiering program, The Playboy Club, was represented by its leading ladies Jenna Dewan and Amber Heard. Jenna and Amber were fresh from a TCA panel, where they discussed how The Playboy Club is different from Mad Men despite their sharing a '60s-era setting. Also, NBC's Fall premiere schedule was announced yesterday. Parenthood is the first to air on Sept. 13, with more debuts coming weekly until October. The NBC upfronts were packed with TV's hottest celebs in NYC yesterday. Christina Aguilera, Tina Fey, Joel McHale, and more were on hand for the event, which announces the network's small-screen schedules for the Fall season. Christina was there, along with Carson Daly, to promote The Voice, and she sat down on The Today Show this morning to talk about what attracted her to the judging job. Jenna Dewan was on hand for The Playboy Club, which also stars Eddie Cibrian, and she hung out with his wife, LeAnn Rimes, before the big press day. Pregnant Tina celebrated the renewal of 30 Rock, as did Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari. Amanda Peet talked up her new comedy with David Walton and Jeffrey Tambor, Bent, and shared that she will most likely bring her two daughters to the set when filming recommences. Christina Applegate stepped out following the January birth of her first child to chat about Up All Night with Maya Rudolph and Amy's husband, Will Arnett. Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, and Lauren Graham represented Parenthood, and Nick Lachey made the quick trip to the Big Apple for The Sing-Off before heading back to LA.

The Community Cast Talks Pulp Fiction, Josh Holloway, and Season Three Hopes

Joel McHale and his Community costars were out in Beverly Hills last night for their PaleyFest panel. The cast recently finished wrapping their Pulp Fiction-themed episode and Gillian Jacobs told us that while she dons Uma Thurman's famous black wig, she sadly didn't get to parody the movie's classic dance scene. Gillian and the rest of the actors also gave us a few hints about the upcoming, two-part season closer. Lost star Josh Holloway pays a special visit to Greendale Community College in the finale and apparently everyone was enamored with the sexy actor. Daniel Pudi had high hopes to catch Josh using Sawyer-esque nicknames on set and Yvette Nicole Brown was distracted by his dimples. Joel even joked that their characters might share a kiss! The Hangover 2's Ken Jeong revealed that the highly anticipated sequel is "funnier" and "raunchier" than the first one, saying, "We upped the ante."
