A few weeks ago, we saw lots of stars spicing things up with warm-toned cinnamon-stick lip shades, and now things have seemingly cooled off. Jena Malone, for instance, wore a bold burgundy at the Hatfields & McCoys premiere in LA earlier this week, coupled with a smidge of black eyeliner. Karolina Kurková and Li Bingbing, however, paired their cabernet colors with shimmery gold shadows on the Cannes red carpets. All wine-inspired shades were fine, but whose are you toasting to?

Katie Holmes and Gisele Bundchen shared a red carpet last night to celebrate the Beauty Culture exhibit, which opens tomorrow, at the Annenberg Space For Photography in LA. It's a collection of images from various photographers, including a snap of Gisele herself, designed to make viewers question the pursuit of beauty. More Hollywood stars came out for the event, including Halle Berry, Ali Larter, and Amber Heard. Supermodel Gisele wrote that she was home in LA after a quick trip to the Amazon, where she was able to do the environmental work that's close to her heart. She posted on her blog, "What a magical place the Amazon is, and so full of history and legends . . . I’m here, sharing my special experience and feelings so we can all think about it. We need and we want to develop, but not at the cost of damaging the planet." The visit was one of philanthropy and fashion, as there was a Gisele Bundchen bikini sighting in Sao Paolo when she took the runway for the Hope Valentine's Day special collection show last week. Katie, meanwhile, is back on the West Coast after a stop in Chicago to honor Oprah and a stint in Florida. She got some swimsuit time in as well when she hit the pool with daughter Suri at her Miami hotel, near where husband Tom Cruise has been working on Rock of Ages.

When we spotted Jena Malone out this weekend, we thought to ourselves, this is how you wear a midi skirt. The actress's spot on combination of a fitted, almost corset style top, midi skirt, and platforms is practically a no-fail formula for how to wear one of this season's hottest hemlines - the midi skirt. This is why it works:

The fitted bodice style top flatters your frame and defines your waist, while the full calf-length skirt floats away from the body and balances your top half.
It mimics natural feminine curves, and on a boyish frame helps to define and create those curves where the structured top meets the defined waistline of the skirt. You don't want to add bulk to your top half with a billowy blouse or one that covers your waist.
The length is generally an easy one to pull off, exposing the thinnest part of the leg. Adding a platform or wedge helps to elongate your legs and make you appear taller, which is key to executing this style. Especially if you're on the shorter side you'll want to avoid pairing the midi skirt with flats.

It was a star-studded evening at the MOCA in LA last night, as Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, and more attended the opening of the Art in the Streets, the first major retrospective of graffiti art in the US. Gwen and Gavin are longtime supporters of the museum and its director, Jeffrey Deitch, after stepping out for another event there last Fall. Drew Barrymore and her red hair also made a cameo after she debuted the new hue Wednesday night at a book party. Other celebs like Adrian Grenier, pregnant Pink, and Christina Ricci were on hand to toast icons like Shepard Fairey and Thierry Guetta, the star of last year's documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. Shepard and Thierry's work is represented there along with pieces by Banksy.
