Skyfall Teaser: Daniel Craig Is Back Again as Bond

Ready or not, James Bond is back! The first teaser for Skyfall is here, and while there's only a small bit of dialogue and not a lot of hints about the plot (though a word association game makes it sound like the title "Skyfall" is a mission that Bond has no problem completing), there is enough of star Daniel Craig looking slick and sexy to get me excited about this installment.

The ominous music and images we do see - including a shadowy figure I'm assuming is the villain played by Javier Bardem - make Skyfall seem more intense and high-stakes than the last film, Quantum of Solace. That's good news, since I didn't love that Bond movie. I can't wait to see if this movie is as good as his first outing, Casino Royale, when Skyfall comes out Nov. 9. The collaboration is fitting, as the James Bond franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary the same year as the queen celebrates her 60th year on the throne with Diamond Jubilee celebrations. And this isn't Queen Elizabeth's first 007 encounter, over the decades she has met with several Bonds, including Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, and Roger Moore - the latter two of which she knighted! Say hello to the newest women to join the ranks of iconic Bond babes! French actress Bérénice Marlohe and Britain's Naomie Harris have started training for their roles in Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond flick out Nov. 9. More details about the movie are currently being released; there's speculation that Adele will release a single for the film, and the queen herself might make an appearance in a James Bond short to be played at this Summer's Olympic opening ceremony. We'll count them among honorary Bond girls, too!

Last year the very first Bond girl, Linda Christian, passed away at 87. She played Valerie Mathis in the 1954 TV adaptation of Casino Royale before James Bond films hit the big screen. There have been countless Bond girls over the years, from Pussy Galore to Mary Goodnight to Strawberry Fields, and the most iconic 007 femme fatale would probably be bikini-clad Ursula Andress, who played Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film, Dr. No, in 1962. Hot Daniel Craig Brings His Best James Bond to the Set of Skyfall

Daniel Craig got serious in a gray suit on the London set of the new James Bond movie today. He's filming Skyfall after wrapping up a worldwide press tour for the thriller The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Daniel and his leading lady Rooney Mara traveled to Berlin, Paris, and more spots around the globe promoting the project. Rooney's style was the star of many photo ops, but heads also turned when Daniel's wife Rachel Weisz joined them on the red carpet in Madrid. It was the couple's first public appearance since tying the knot last Summer. Rachel recently made headlines when her L'Oréal ad was banned in the UK for being "misleading." Attention will be back to Rooney later this month though, when she hits the red carpet at the Oscars, where she's nominated for best actress.

Sure they're evil and sometimes scarred, but we're strangely attracted to them anyway. Maybe it's the sexy suits, foreign accents, and big guns? Shaken, Not Stirred: James Bond-Style Scents

Over the years, there have been several James Bond-inspired colognes and perfumes on the market. And although some are out of production, come 2012, a Bond-inspired cologne is launching to coincide with the release of the 23rd film in the series (it also happens to be the 50th anniversary of first movie's debut). No word on what the juice will smell like or its name, but until then, take a peek at a few Bond-like scents, such as:

A.B.R. Barlach's James Bond perfume ($23) - An oriental fragrance that has notes of citrus, sensuous flowers, vanilla, and musk.
Floris London's No 89 eau de toilette ($95) - This scent - which has notes of citrus, sandalwood, rose, orris, and oakmoss - is said to have been worn by James Bond in author Ian Fleming's novels.
Demeter Fragrance Library's Martini ($6 to $30) - OK, so it's not exactly a Bond scent, but we all know how much the spy himself loves the potent, classic cocktail.
Geo F. Trumper's Eucris ($65) - While also not a fragrance inspired specifically by the Bond books and flicks, this sophisticated, sensuous eau de toilette is also apparently a Bond favorite. Includes notes of musk, moss, sandalwood, jasmine, muguet, cumin, and coriander.
Avon's Bond Girl 007 Forever ($14) - A sexy cocktail of citrus fruits, florals, and smoky woods.

Javier Bardem rose to superstardom thanks to his bone-chilling role in No Country For Old Men, and now the Oscar winner may be taking on another bad boy. Bardem has been reportedly offered a role in the newest James Bond film opposite Daniel Craig. The studio is keeping mum on details of the part, but considering that the role of hero is already taken, Bardem will likely be playing a villain.

Sam Mendes in Talks to Direct Bond 23, Production Moved Up

Ride the Bond 23 roller coaster right here, folks: after reports that the latest installment in the James Bond franchise had been stalled due to MGM's financial concerns, it appears that the opposite is happening: Bond 23 (its current moniker until the real title is adopted) is being fast-tracked to begin production this Summer. What's even more exciting is that Sam Mendes is in negotiations to direct.

I'm a big Mendes fan and am curious to see how he'd tackle a big-budget action flick, especially one as high profile as a James Bond movie. As for details on the movie itself, there's not too much (no Bond girl cast yet), but one interesting tidbit - 23 is partly set in New York. What are your thoughts on Mendes directing - or Bond 23 in general?
