This Friday a new teen comedy hits theaters, this time starring Hayden Panettiere and Paul Rust. In I Love You, Beth Cooper, Rust plays Denis, a dorky high school senior who confesses during his graduation speech that he loves his popular classmate, Beth Cooper (Panettiere). Surprisingly, Beth responds by deciding to "show Denis the best night of his life."

If you've been harboring a crush on someone (or any secret thoughts or feelings), Hayden Panettiere wants you to know that the promotion for her upcoming high school romp I Love You, Beth Cooper is exactly the way to reveal it. In the movie, the class valedictorian declares during his graduation speech that he's in love with — yup, you guessed it — Beth Cooper (played by Panettiere). As a promotional tactic, Twentieth Century Fox is "inviting people to upload their confessional videos to ILoveYouBethCooper.com for a special event entitled 'Beth Cooper Moments of Truth'" in which "participants will tape a special message they've always wanted to express — to a friend, parent, love interest .

This movie's premise, based on a book by Larry Doyle, makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. On the one hand, there's a nerdy guy who builds up the nerve to declare his love for a super hot cheerleader while giving his valedictorian speech at high school graduation. On the other hand, there's the cheerleader (of course played by Hayden Panettiere who is totally not typecast at all) who, instead of being alarmed by the young man's public declaration, appears at his doorstep to show him the night of his life.

She's cheertastic?
For a third time, Hayden Panettiere will be putting on the little outfit and cheering her heart out, this time for a film adaptation of the novel I Love You, Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle. Doyle is a former writer for The Simpsons and now works for The New Yorker.
