Take a Look Back at the House Series Finale

House came to an end after eight seasons this week, and the series went out as unpredictably as the curmudgeonly doctor himself. The final episode also saw the return of several original cast members, and whether you watched or not, it's fun to see actors like Jennifer Morrison, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, and Sela Ward back on the scene. Check them all out as you say your final farewell to House.

House Comes to an End After Eight Seasons

Rumors have been circulating for a while now, but now it's official: Fox is canceling House at the end of the current season. The Hugh Laurie medical drama has run for eight seasons, but has lost steam lately, due in part to Lisa Edelstein's exit from the series. House will wrap up with its final episodes later this Spring; will you be sad to see it go?

Fox Renews House, Family Guy, and The Cleveland Show

No shockers here, but here's some relieving news for House fans: Fox has just picked up Hugh Laurie's drama for an eighth season, along with animated hits The Cleveland Show and Family Guy. The news follows the network's pickup of Bones last week.

With upfronts just a week away, you can expect to hear a lot more news about the 2011 Fall season (both good and bad), so stay tuned for the latest on your favorite shows - plus, a preview of what new programs are headed our way after the Summer!

Love It or Hate It? Perforated House

I hate to say it, but modern townhouses have begun to look all the same to me. I see plenty with rich wood siding, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and sleek white façades, but I rarely pass by one that really wows me. But I just discovered this house in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal by dIONISO LAB with a façade made of aluminum shutters that have been perforated with graphic symbols, and I'm kind of in love.

It's definitely one-of-a-kind. I like that the shutters simultaneously offer privacy and light when wanted, and the house still has those big glass sliding doors that so many homeowners love. What do you think of this wild house?

Pets can increase the appeal of your apartment, and it turns out that the other little details count as well, according to The New York Times. And you don't have to spend a lot to get a better price; there are tons of little tricks you can do. You can even use a few of these simple tips to upgrade your apartment even if you're not trying to sell your apartment. Here they are:

Bigger Space: Use smaller furniture to make your apartment space look larger. For example, get a smaller-sized bed or smaller tables for your living room to make it seem like your apartment is larger than it really is.
Lighting: If the lighting in your apartment is dim, get some extra lamps to brighten up the rooms.
Smell: The article pointed out that a rainy, musty smell in the apartment can turn off potential buyers. Tackle that problem with a dehumidifier.
Cleanliness: A good hygiene of a residence can add a lot to the price tag of the apartment. Make sure you have fresh towels and pillows out, as well as clean rugs. Clutter should also be cleared, and here are some tips to do so.
Expensive shoes: Apparently having an expensive shoe closet will snag you a better price. "You can buy 25 pairs of designer shoes, put them in your closet, and they're going to get more than you spent on them," according to Michele Kleier, the head of a high-end real estate agency. "People want to step into your life." This is one of the more extravagant upgrades, but a savvy alternative can be to display your cutest shoes and hide the old ones.
Replacement: Spending a little to fix or replace broken tiles, fixtures, appliances, lighting, and cabinets can go a long way in increasing the value of your home in the buyer's eyes.

Coat Hanger Abortion Ad: Actress Lisa Edelstein Goes There

Maybe pro-lifer du jour Justin Bieber would favor safe and legal abortions after watching this ad. House actress Lisa Edelstein stars in the new spot from MoveOn.org that's taking on new legislation attempting to limit access to abortion.

In the ad, Lisa's voice-over says: "Decades ago, women suffered through horrifying back alley abortions. Or, they used dangerous methods when they had no other recourse. So when the Republican Party launched an all out assault on women's health, pushing bills to limit access to vital services, why is the GOP trying to send women back . . . to the back alley?"

She's then seen reaching for a coat hanger in a closet. Nancy Pelosi has called the bill disrespectful of the judgment of American women and "the most comprehensive and radical assault on women's health in our lifetime." Do you think a powerful commercial like this one can change people's minds?
