This New Hong Kong Spa Really Gets You High

Hong Kong's newest luxury spa might not be so relaxing if you have a fear of heights. The new ESPA just opened in the city's Ritz-Carlton International Commerce Center, the third tallest building in the world. ESPA sits on the 116th and 118th floors, making it the highest spa on Earth.

Don't worry if you're only slightly acrophobic, though. The architects, HBA, gave the space rounded edges and curved walls to create the illusion of insulation and protection from the world below. And in the relaxation room, the custom-designed lounger pods are curtained to create private, safe-feeling cocoons. The treatment we're coveting most? Their 90-minute Lava Shell Treatment ($191 USD), where heated shells, warmed aromatic oils, and deep-tissue-massage strokes will (hopefully) melt away any stress you may be feeling from the hotel's dizzying height.

Oh. My. GOD! This architect in Hong Kong created 24 rooms out of a 344-sq.-ft. apartment with unbelievable sliding walls, the most creative combination of spaces, and gorgeous use of mirrors and light. I've never seen anything like this! Guy Kawasaki posted a video of it, but I've grabbed it so you can check it out here. I mean, if I could do that in NYC, I'd live like a queen!

Hong Kong Teens Sell Sex For Shopping Money

"Compensated dating" is a growing and frightening trend among Hong Kong's teenage girls. The term refers to the practice of requiring a man to pay a fee for a date that more often than not includes sex. Shockingly, many teenage girls engaged in "compensated dating" are not selling themselves just to get by - they're reportedly doing it for extra shopping money.

CNN tells the story of Sze, a young woman who would charge $350 for dates when she was 16.

Sze said she started compensated dating because many of her classmates at an all-girls school were doing it. She says she became jealous when she saw the designer clothes, bags and cosmetics they bought with the money they earned through compensated dating.

This story - which sounds a lot like, well, prostitution - is especially troubling because the girls are so young. But, assuming that a woman is of age and that everything is consensual, do you see anything wrong with women using dates, and potentially sex, as a means of income?

Can Jessica Change Her Image With The Eye?

I tend to think of Jessica Alba as one of those actresses who's just famous for being hot. Apparently, Alba knows that and wants to lose the label, starting with her role in The Eye, a remake of a 2002 Hong Kong film. In the thriller, Alba plays a blind violinist who gets a eye transplant that gives her special powers.

Quite a departure from Honey, and from the sound of her recent interview with MTV News, she's relieved to be playing a role that's a bit deeper than her usual fare:

"I totally appreciate the stuff [I usually do]," the "Sin City" stunner said last week on the set of her latest movie. "But you know what? It's a lot more interesting for me to play someone who is blind and a classical violin player than someone who is running around in the rain wearing a white T-shirt."

The Eye is being produced by Tom Cruise, and Alba's co-stars include Rachael Leigh Cook, Parker Posey, and Alessandro Nivola. According to MTV News:

For obvious reasons, the film seems destined for comparisons to such imports as "The Ring" and "The Grudge," but Alba's leading man insists "The Eye" will give American audiences something unique to look at.

"The challenge, anytime you're making a movie in a tried-and-tested genre, is to bring something that feels different about it," ("Jurassic Park III") said of the mission facing himself and Alba.

Well, Jessica Alba being cast as a blind violinist definitely feels different. But judging from these photos of Alba on set, it's not like she's pulling a Charlize Theron in Monster or anything. What do you guys think: Can Alba be a serious actress?

Victoria Beckham and the Boys Go Along For David's Big Night

Victoria Beckham wore a dress of her own design to accompany her husband David to the annual Sports Spectacular benefit at LA's Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The gala raises funds for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Institute, which researches genetic birth defects. The couple brought their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, along for the event, while baby Harper stayed at home. It was the latest fun outing for the Beckham boys, since earlier in the afternoon, David, Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn checked in at the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Kings take on the Phoenix Coyotes.

David was honored at the evening event for his work. On the press line, David spoke about his future with soccer. He said, "People always ask me what I want to do when I've finished playing, and they say, 'Do I want to go into management?' To be honest I've never wanted to go into management. I love coaching kids, I love working with kids. They're amazing people. They're amazingly truthful, young people, and that's what I love doing."

The entire Beckham clan is together on the West Coast after a busy period of travel for both David and Victoria. He stopped in Washington DC for an event with the president and first lady to honor the MLS-winning LA Galaxy team. David was then off to Athens and proudly helped transport the Olympic flame to London ahead of the Summer Olympics. Victoria returned for a long tour of Asia on behalf of her namesake collection. Things keep growing for Posh's business - Victoria Beckham will open her first store, possibly in Hong Kong, but more likely in London.

Victoria Beckham carried her daughter Harper Beckham today as they prepped to jet out of Hong Kong. The girls went through airport security together, surrounded by Posh's entourage and her hairstylist pal Ken Paves. The last week has been a busy one for Victoria. She stopped first in China to attend a couple events on behalf of her namesake fashion line and to promote her collaboration with Range Rover. Then she was off to Hong Kong with Harper, and donned one of her own dresses with a Miu Miu cardigan for a Victoria Beckham Collection event at Lane Crawford. Victoria was finally able to put her feet up last night. Victoria donned a robe and fluffy slippers in her latest Twitter picture, writing, "So much fun in Hong Kong, thank you!"

Victoria and Harper Beckham jetted to Hong Kong yesterday after a brief stay in Beijing. Victoria's visiting Asia to unveil Range Rover's Evoque in addition to showcasing her upcoming Autumn/Winter 2012 Victoria Beckham collection to international buyers. Today, she modeled one of her own designs, a chic white dress paired with an embellished cardigan, for a promotional event at Hong Kong's Lane Crawford boutique.

The trip hasn't been all about work. Victoria's managed to squeeze in some fun with Harper and her close friend, hairstylist Ken Paves. Ken's been keeping her company and snapping photos of their wild adventure across China. He's also styling her hair for media events. Ken gave Victoria a baggy braid in Beijing and a similar style for today's photocall. Back in the States, Posh's husband David Beckham and his LA Galaxy teammates are prepping for a home game on Saturday against FC Dallas.

David Has a Sporty Weekend With the Boys Following Victoria's Return From Asia

David Beckham took the field at LA's Home Depot Center on Saturday to play with the Galaxy against Dallas. It was an unusually exciting game, as the Galaxy eeked out a tie with a late-in-the-game goal. David's sons Romeo, Cruz, and Brooklyn were up in the stands cheering on their dad. It was only Brooklyn, though, who accompanied David to last night's Lakers game. The father-son duo were courtside to watch as the Lakers beat the Nuggets 103-88. Victoria Beckham sat out the fun after a busy week in Asia. She attended events in China and Hong Kong on behalf of Range Rover and her Victoria Beckham Collection. She swung through Hong Kong's Lane Crawford to show off her designs. While there, Posh spoke about all the celebrities who wear Victoria Beckham. She said, "So far I've had such an exciting mix of celebrities, including Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts . . . They really go to prove how versatile the collection is and how each person can make the dress unique."
