Julianne Moore Is the Latest Liberal to Play Palin

I guess Tina Fey turned them down! Julianne Moore will play Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film Game Change. And just like Fey, whose satirical SNL portrayal betrayed opposition to Palin, Moore has a political persuasion that differs from Mama Grizzly. While I doubt it will impact Moore's performance, here are three major issues on which they publicly disagree.

Abortion: Palin's personal life is considered by some an embodiment of the pro-life principles; she decided to have her baby Trig, who has Down syndrome, and she puts her daughter out there as an abstinence advocate, no matter the irony. Moore, on the other hand, is not just a pro-choice citizen but also an activist for reproductive rights. She's long been a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood and urged Americans to "let it be known that we have a pro-choice majority in this country."

Political Party: Moore has donated to Democrats like John Kerry and Barack Obama, while Palin ran in the number two spot on the Republican ticket in 2008.

Same-Sex Marriage: LGBT straight ally Moore has graced the cover of the Human Rights Campaign Equality magazine, starred as a lesbian in The Kids Are All Right, and wrote a children's book that features a family with two moms. Although the former Alaska governor has previously opposed gay marriage and benefits for same-sex couples, this may be an issue where Palin and Moore can find some common ground. Palin recently retweeted a tweet criticizing Republicans for supporting don't ask, don't tell. Not quite a clear 180, but a suggestion that there's room for agreement.

Small screen stars came out in force last night for the NYC premiere of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. The show ranked among our five must-watch Fall series, and we're loving the eye candy to be shown on Sunday's debut episode. True Blood's Joe Manganiello showed some love for HBO during a break from his Fashion Week rounds with the girlfriend he's so fond of, and we grabbed a minute at a recent Alice + Olivia party to get the scoop on his next season. The Entourage crew was well represented with Adrian Grenier and Mark Wahlberg, who's front and center in the new trailer for The Fighter. Mark also stole a minute to catch up with Diddy. Steve Buscemi was the star of the evening, but he still managed to greet his old Sopranos costars James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, and Lorraine Bracco. Mick Jagger even made a cameo with his lady friend L'Wren Scott, while over in London, his bandmate Keith Richards grabbed a meal with Johnny Depp.

Scorsese and Jagger Reteam For HBO

Shine a light on this news: Martin Scorsese is teaming up with Mick Jagger again, only this time it's for TV. The Oscar-winning director and legendary rocker are reportedly developing a new series for HBO called History of Music, following two friends through the music biz over 40 years. Terence Winter, who wrote for The Sopranos, is also on board, and Scorsese would have a chance to direct the pilot if production goes that far. A behind-the-scenes look at the music industry would be a perfect fit for HBO (assuming it'll be a little grittier than Entourage), and considering how psyched I am for Scorsese's Boardwalk Empire, I'm on board with this one already too.

TV Tonight: Guy's Night on HBO With Hung and Entourage

The boys are back on HBO! Up first is the premiere of Hung, with more of Ray and his pimp/poet Tanya. The show is entering its second season, which means even more sneaky hotel sex for the, er, "talented" hero. Then, Ari, Turtle, Eric, Drama, and Vince return to Entourage for another round of Hollywood shenanigans. As I noted with the promo, it looks like we may be in for a more serious turn for the gang; Vince takes a big risk with his career and Eric settles down with Sloane. I wouldn't mind a little drama; it might even give the show some much-needed freshness (other than Vince's new haircut).

So, set your DVR! You have True Blood like always, followed by Hung and then Entourage (man, that's a lot of sex scenes for two hours). To go behind the scenes of each premiere,
