Turtles Are Tortoise-ly Awesome!

The sight of a sea turtle gracefully gliding through the ocean or a tortoise contentedly munching on greens warms an animal lover's heart. But these visions may soon be distant memories. Today's World Turtle Day seeks to create awareness of the animal's vanishing habitats around the world and to draw attention to the inhumane treatment of turtles as pets and food sources.

Whether you're considering a turtle as a pet or simply encountering these shelled critters in day-to-day life, American Tortoise Rescue, the sponsor of World Turtle Day, hopes that we can all help in preserving and promoting our reptilian friends by observing a few easy guidelines.

Don't buy a turtle or tortoise from a pet store, as it increases demand for wild animals. Instead, contact a local animal shelter or turtle rescue to adopt a turtle in need.
Don't remove a turtle or tortoise from the wild unless it's sick or injured.
If you see a turtle or tortoise crossing a busy street, then pick it up to help it across, but point it in the same direction it was originally heading. Turtles are headstrong creatures: even if you point it in the opposite direction, it will eventually return to its previous course - and straight back into danger!

You're Fired! 20 Signs That a Pink Slip Is Coming

If something feels off at the office, you may want to brace yourself for the worst. Wise Bread shares signs to look for when a pink slip is coming.

There are two types of employees. One has a good idea of what they do, who they are, and what position they play in the company. They are savvy. They know the score. They are under no delusions, and will no doubt leave for another job long before they are ever considered as cannon-fodder.

And then there's the other kind. The guy who could get Gandhi to hate him. The woman who spends most of her day chatting on the phone to friends or doing online shopping. Or the nice chap in sales who is completely oblivious that the recent merger means his job is now obsolete. They all have Ostrich Syndrome. They couldn't see a pink slip coming if it was 8ft tall and glowing in the dark, screaming "you're fired!"

You want to avoid being in that second category at all costs. So I've compiled a handy list. If you can answer yes to THREE or more of these questions, you may want to think about sprucing up your résumé and dry-cleaning your best interview attire.

1. Are you no longer in the loop about, well, anything?

This is a huge telltale sign. Suddenly you're finding out about company news from the cleaning lady or the new girl in accounting. If you were formally in the know about all things business related, but now suffer from "the company's doing what??!" disease, the writing is probably on the wall.

2. Did you recently screw up big-time?

We're not talking a minor faux pas here. Did you lose money on an account that was previously bulletproof? Oh dear. Were you caught having sex on the boss's desk with the boss's spouse? That's probably not a career-enhancing move. Unless you're a real dope, you know if you have screwed up. And if you know, HR knows. It may not be the final nail in your coffin, but it's a nail in the coffin nonetheless.

3. Are people avoiding you at all costs?

Eye contact is difficult to make with someone if you know his or her head's on the chopping block. Small talk is just as tough. It's best just to avoid that person altogether. So if people are no longer doing that fun "stop 'n' chat" in the hall, or the coffee room empties when you arrive, then guess what . . . you may be a marked man or woman.

6 Tips to Nix Jealousy in Your Relationship

There's nothing quite like the green monster to zap the romance right out of your relationship, so do yourself a favor and ditch the jealousy. It's easier said than done, of course, but acknowledging the issue is half the battle. Worried that jealousy might wreck your relationship? Follow these tips to nix the negativity:

If you're jealous . . .

Be sure to focus on your own schedule. If you're regularly stressed about what he's doing, where he's going, or who he's seeing that probably means that you need to be busier yourself. Next time he heads out for guys' poker night, invite over your pals for a wine tasting.
Recognize where your feelings are coming from. Before you lash out or say something that you may regret, take a step back and see what the true issue is - boredom? Loneliness? Try to solve your own problems before you create a new one in your relationship. Join a class to meet new people or pick up a new hobby that makes you feel better about yourself.
Create more time for your relationship. Truth is, you may just wish that you were spending more time together. If that's the case, go ahead and pencil in a romantic date night for every work event or family day. When you amp up the romance, you'll feel more secure, so your jittery, jealous feelings can finally calm down.

If he's jealous . . .

Whatever you do, try not to get defensive right away. The more you try to fight back, the more heated he'll become. Instead, acknowledge how he feels and try to put yourself in his shoes. Chances are, he may just want to feel understood.
Try to make him feel special. If he's upset over your friendship with a co-worker or another guy, consider easing up on how much time you spend with that person. If he feels like you're growing distant, get back to the little things. Write him notes, surprise him with a date, or cook up his favorite dinner to remind him how much you care.
At the end of the day, be willing to compromise. Relationships are a two-way street, so accept the fact that you may need to make some lifestyle changes. Even if your intentions are good, if something is making him uncomfortable, you need to have an honest, sympathetic conversation to see how you can make it better.

The Spring 2012 runways were awash with striking hues of mint green - and after perusing the Fab Community, it looks like you guys are getting in on the trend, too. Designers like Tory Burch, Vera Wang, and Rodarte all showed a fresh seafoam shade, offering a pretty, unexpected new hue to play around with for the season. We love how these street stylers have put their own spin on mint, and we can all agree it's a perfect look for Spring. See below for some of our editors' tips on how to inject a minty fresh burst to your look.

Obviously adding a dash of mint will perk up any of your neutral basics, but don't be afraid to pair the cool hue with another bright, like yellow, pink, or orange.
Keep in mind that mint (like all brights) will draw instant attention to the part of your body you're wearing it on. Want to highlight your legs? Go for a pair of skinny mint pants or pencil skirt. If you'd rather keep the focus on your face, opt for a pretty mint-hued sweater or silky blouse.
Don't underestimate the power of accessories. If you're feeling timid about trying the mint trend, just pick up a seafoam-colored clutch, statement necklace, or pretty pair of flats.

Fab reader StefaniSterjovski's ultraverdant ensemble made us both green with envy and pretty darn excited for tomorrow (read: St. Patrick's Day - the one day a year that an overload on green is more than acceptable). We love how she paired dark kelly green skinny jeans with a simple white tee and minty-hued cardigan. The juxtaposition of the two shades created a cool colorblock combo without seeming cheesy.
