We are so excited that the first installment of Suzanne Collins's trilogy The Hunger Games hits the big screen today. The gripping series follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen in a postapocalyptic world, where she must fight for her own survival and the survival of the ones she loves. And while the action-packed plot keeps you on your toes, it's the will-they-or-won't-they love triangle between Katniss, Peeta, and Gale that really kept us turning pages. Even the actress who plays the girl caught in the middle, Jennifer Lawrence, told Seventeen Magazine she had a hard time picking a favorite: "I think I was [team] Gale until he started getting a little too trigger-happy. Or maybe first Peeta and then Gale or Gale, then Peeta? I went back and forth. I flip-flopped."

It seems some of the best stories on screen center around the complications of choosing between two love interests, from classic films, to '90s TV shows, to huge franchises like Twilight and Harry Potter. Today marks the 70th anniversary of the release of Gone With the Wind, the epic drama chronicling the Civil War from the point of view of Southern heroine (and, I would argue, reformed spoiled brat, Scarlett O'Hara). The most popular film ever made, it was adapted by Sidney Howard from Margaret Mitchell's novel of the same name. The film won 10 Academy Awards, and while it featured fine performances by Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable, its unexamined take on racism makes it rather hard for me to watch. The Results Are In: Recast Gone With the Wind

Wow, last week's Recast for Gone With the Wind proved both challenging and entertaining. It seems the hardest character to recast was Miss Scarlett O'Hara with her fiery and impetuous - yet needy - nature. I think perhaps the closest we might come is Reese Witherspoon, if she channeled some of her stubborn Election character and added a Southern touch.

I was smitten by UnaBellaSorpresa's picks for Ashley and Melanie: Orlando Bloom and Claire Danes, who was great as the sweet, sickly girl in Little Women. Yet I have to say that my favorite cast overall came from Intern07: Clive Owen would make an impeccable Rhett Butler, while S. Recast Special Oscar Edition: Gone With the Wind

Well, fiddle-di-dee, it's that time again! Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. In honor of the Oscars, this week's selection is one of Hollywood's greatest productions: Gone With the Wind.

This sweeping epic swept the Academy Awards in 1940; the picture was nominated for 13 awards and won 8, including Best Picture. What's more, Hattie McDaniel became the first black actor to win an Oscar when she won Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Mammy.

If Gone With the Wind were made today, who would you cast as spoiled Scarlett O'Hara? Who could play the dashing Rhett Butler and gentlemanly Ashley Wilkes? 5 Entertaining and Romantic Movie Dates

In honor of this year's Sundance Film Festival that just began yesterday, it's time to explore different movie date night options for you and your honey to warm up to this Winter. Beyond your average movie complex, there is a whole world of independent theaters and festivals to explore and attend to have a romantic and memorable date experience. Here are a few ideas to reinvigorate the ol' movie night standard.

Technicolor features: Films in technicolor have intensely vivid and dreamy hues. Usually independent and historical theaters will screen special technicolor features, and it's a unique and rare opportunity to see such amazing colors and classic films like Gone With the Wind on the big screen. Even if the film you see isn't a classic, it's still nice to curl up close and enjoy the romantic, sleepy quality of technicolor.
Historical theaters: Check to see if your town has at least one historical theater with a classic, blinking marquee and intricate interior architecture. Research the history behind the building before you go so you and your date can appreciate the theater's story and architectural details upon your visit.
Cult midnight movies: There is an entire culture that follows midnight screenings of B-rated films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The especially diehard will dress up, act out scenes, and sing along. Attending a midnight movie like Rocky can be a ridiculous yet fun way to bond and break any inhibitions.
Film festivals: Independent, horror, documentary, shorts, underground, and international are just a few of the dozens of film festivals that take place in North America. It's cold and dark during the Winter, so you might as well use the time to expand your film repertoire and have a dozen new stories and concepts to discuss with your date afterward.
Drive-ins: If you live in an area with a milder climate, you could drive out of town to go to a drive-in theater. The tickets are cheaper, you're in the comfort of your car, and you can bring your own food. Most importantly, depending on your parking spot, you might have enough privacy to engage in some high-school-esque backseat action.

Recession-era cupcake businesses have been all the rage lately (see: Bridesmaids), but shows addressing personal finances - or lack thereof - with humor and honesty is something we don’t see very often. Caroline and Max manage to plan for their future while hustling for their present - and survive on a shoestring with admirable grace. I know what you must be thinking, how in the world am I supposed to not spend any money this weekend? And no, you don't have to stay in all weekend, isolated, watching Law & Order reruns, and eating scraps from your fridge (although a leftovers party is a fun idea!). Here are some exciting free things to do this weekend.

Take a Hike: There's nothing like a walk to clear the mind and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Make plans to take a walk in a park or go to hiking trails nearby. It's also a great way to wind down from the hectic work week you had - scientists found that viewing bits of greenery is really good for relaxation. Having gone away on a weekend recently to greener pastures, I can truly attest to that!
Free Apps Galore: Use the downtime this weekend by exploring the apps world and taking advantage of all the free apps available. I'm seriously loving some I recently downloaded on the phone, and I'm going to use the free time to look for more. My favorite ones that help me save money include KiK Messenger for free texting, Tip and Split for easy tip calculations, and Cheap Gas!, an app that looks for the cheapest gas rates near you. My other freebie favorites: Casa's home decorating apps and Geek's top 10 free iPad apps.
Animal Time: I don't have my own pets here with me, but I love animals. I spend my days cooing over the adorable pictures over at PetSugar, but sometimes pictures aren't enough. Get your animal fix by either offering to pet sit for a friend or volunteering at an animal shelter.
