All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. Check out this week's picks!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
I admittedly wasn't a fan of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past when it came out in theaters, but it may be worth considering if you're in the mood for a romantic comedy that doesn't make you think too much. The premise: When playboy Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey) attends his brother's wedding, he runs into his first love Jenny (Jennifer Garner), setting off a Christmas Carol-like chain of events, complete with ghosts. Yes, the plot's contrived and Connor is incredibly smarmy, but I enjoyed the supporting cast of characters, especially Emma Stone as an 80's ghost with a bad perm and Michael Douglas as Connor's Lothario uncle.

Observe and Report
Observe and Report follows a self-important, semi-delusional mall security cop (Seth Rogen) who flips out when he realizes he may not become a police officer - or win over the makeup counter girl of his dreams (Anna Faris). When I first reviewed it, I was surprised by how dark the film turned out to be for a Rogen and Faris comedy. Still, it does have a few laugh-worthy moments, and Rogen fans will probably want to add this to their must-see list.

Lymelife
Set in the 1970s, Lymelife is an ensemble drama that follows two families in a Long Island neighborhood dealing with a Lyme disease scare. It boasts a decent ensemble cast, including Cynthia Nixon, Alec Baldwin, and Timothy Hutton, but Rory Culkin (yes, Macaulay's brother) is the heart of the film as a 15-year-old struggling in the midst of messed-up chaos. (Emma Roberts also turns in a memorable performance as his crush.) The reviews were mixed when the film released in theaters, but if twisted suburbia is your thing (i.e., American Beauty or The Ice Storm), then Lymelife is worth checking out. Click into any story ("look") on the Ghosts of Girlfriends Past section on CelebStyle.com.
Once there, under the picture, you'll find a series of tags and several ways to play: you can comment, send an email, become a fan of the look ("love this"), or add a look of your own. Click either "add a look" link to get started.

On the next screen you'll be prompted to create a look. First, click on the "add image" button.

Now a new window will pop up. Leave the tab in "Search ShopStyle" and type in a product description for the item you're looking for (e.g. if you're looking for a black turtleneck, type in "black turtleneck.").

Once you've found the perfect item, click on the product and it will show up on your look page.

Repeat for every item that you'd like to include in your look.

Sugardaddy: Matthew McConaughey

After spending years flashing his six-pack abs and antics in what seemed to be an endless parade of shirtless photos, Matthew McConaughey is creating a different type of stir as father to nine-month old, Levi. The ultimate bachelor, who will always hold a place in our hearts as stoner David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused, continues to play the romantic lead in hilarious movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and next month's Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. But, since he became a parent to his son with girlfriend Camila Alves, McConaughey is a laid back daddy who manages to incorporate his lil guy into all his daily activities from surfing to movie premieres to beach strolls.

Following Levi's birth, McConaughey said:

"Everyone talked about how, oh, you have a kid, life changes, it's like 180 degrees on a dime full stop, wow. And a lot of them had an insinuation under that like, you have to stop living your life as you live it. That hasn't been the case."

While he may no longer embrace his most famous line from Dazed and Confused, "I keep getting older; they stay the same age," his take on incorporating a lil one into your lifestyle and loving it can be heeded by all new parents.

The Vampire Diaries "The Hybrid": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries takes us on a little field trip to the Tennessee mountains, as Elena pursues her boyfriend-gone-bad Stefan. He's on a hybrid-making mission with Klaus, who may be a little closer to finding out that he never killed Elena after all.

Tyler comes clean to his mother about what he really is, but it's not enough to keep Caroline safe, who's in an interesting pickle with a shady new character. We also get to see more of Jeremy's dead girlfriend problem and a nice Damon/Elena scene. The Lincoln Lawyer: Hop In

After films like Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Surfer Dude, and Fool's Gold, Matthew McConaughey hasn't exactly had the best track record as of late. So can a movie about a money-grubbing lawyer with a license plate that reads "NTGUILTY" actually be the way to break his pattern of bad movies? The answer is yes: The Lincoln Lawyer is an entertaining thriller that does more than put the actor's charm on display.

Based on the novel by Michael Connelly, the film centers on Mick Haller (McConaughey), a smooth-talking criminal attorney who's a hustler to his core. He represents the underbelly of LA - bikers, prostitutes, druggies - and his methods of doing business are anything but conventional. Instead of an office, Mick prefers to work from his car (a Lincoln town car per the title) where he wheels and deals. As one character remarks, Mick would've done pretty well for himself on the streets; he knows whose palm to grease to get what he wants whether it's a photographer with valuable video or a local cop. That may make Mick sound like a two-dimensional sleazeball and sometimes he is, but there's also more to him than meets the eye.

Mick has run into his share of shady lowlifes over the years, but perhaps none has ever frightened him as much as his latest client, Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe). A playboy with deep pockets, Louis has been convicted of assault after being arrested in a beaten-up prostitute's apartment with blood on his hands. He swears he's innocent, and Mick believes him - at first. But after inconsistencies crop up in Louis's story, Mick starts to question the man he's dealing with and his own conscience. That's the thing about Mick; even though he represents some scumbags, he's actually kind of a good guy himself. The father to a young daughter, he's still on good terms with his ex-wife (Marisa Tomei) and his friendship with his detective (William H. Macy) is surprisingly sweet amidst their sarcastic back-and-forth banter.

Mick is a likable character thanks to the script, but it's McConaughey who really makes him work. From the opening scene when he flashes his white smile at the camera to when he's staring down Louis in fury, McConaughey embodies Mick's range of emotions and elevates what's essentially a popcorn flick. The rest of the actors turn in solid performances as well. Tomei plays tough but vulnerable, and Phillippe runs the gamut from a stuck-up but silly brat to downright psychotic.

There's a surprising amount of humor for a legal thriller, but some of the laughs are unintentional as a result of the dialogue. Mick is supposed to be a slick guy, and the script wants to knock you over the head to remind you of this fact, but in most cases, McConaughey pulls it off. With his Southern drawl delivery, he's still delightful to watch - and he doesn't even have to take off his shirt.
