- Variety has the news that Paulo Coelho (author of The Alchemist) is asking for video submissions — via MySpace — of readers' interpretations of his novel The Witch of Portobello. Coelho then plans to "weave submissions into a 52-minute TV movie."
- Bravo has chefs on the brain: It's spinning off a series called Top Chef Juniors about teens in the kitchen and will also develop a show about the "world's sexiest chef," TV Week reports.
- Earlier this week, a stuntman filming John Woo's new movie was killed in what's being called "a bizarre fire," writes Reuters.

- Nicole Sullivan will star in a half-hour comedy for Lifetime called Rita Rocks, which will be Lifetime's first original comedy in a decade, Broadcasting & Cable reports.
- According to Hollywood Reporter, Robin Williams may join the cast of the political biopic The Prince of Providence, which already stars Dermot Mulroney and Oliver Platt.
- Francis Capra of Veronica Mars is headed to Heroes, TV Guide reports, while Jamie Kennedy will be the new guy on Ghost Whisperer.

In promotion of his comedy Semi-Pro, Will Ferrell will be setting out on a tour to do something you have probably never seen him do: stand-up comedy. The event is called "Will Ferrell's Funny or Die Comedy Tour Presented by Semi-Pro," and will feature Ferrell as the headliner for seven shows over three weeks in February, leading up to the movie's Feb. 29 release date.

Judd Apatow has joined Will Ferrell and Adam McKay to round out the team behind funny video site FunnyOrDie. The guys have been friends for years, so the collaboration only makes sense to them.

I so wanted The Box to be a worthy successor to Donnie Darko, director Richard Kelly's first film and much-appreciated cult fave. Unfortunately, I didn't exactly get my wish.
The Box is a highly stylized, good-looking thriller, from the retro 1976 Virginia setting to the Barbie and Ken looks of leads Cameron Diaz and James Marsden.

I knew it was going to be hard to top the koi pond incident (and those Halloween costumes), but I was glad to see this week's The Office return to the storyline with new paramours Michael and Helene. This time, Pam is actually coming around to the idea of her mother dating her boss, but per his usual protocol, Michael is ready with a few blunders to messy things up. We also had a friendly competition between Andy and Dwight and — naked photos?

This week's opening of The Office isn't necessarily a huge spooky surprise since we already got a peek at those costumed spoiler photos, but I still laughed through every minute of the intro. Jim's "Bookface" costume? A-ma-zing.

Just when Kanye West was defending "Single Ladies" as one of the best songs of all time, Glee swoops in with an entire episode dedicated to the tune. We've seen a ton of spoofs of the famous music video — Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg on Saturday Night Live, Joe Jonas — but I've gotta say that I think Kurt's version may be my favorite rendition so far.
This week was Kurt's magnum opus.
