A Full House Movie: Yay or Nay?

It's not official, but John Stamos recently revealed that he's conceptualizing a Full House feature film - "but it wouldn't be us playing us." So who would be playing the men in this beloved '90s family? I know you've weighed in on a Full House recast before, but here are Stamos's suggestions:

Jesse Katsopolis - James Franco
Danny Tanner - Steve Carell
Joey Gladstone - Tracy Morgan

Stamos added, "'I'm not 100% sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years' of the 1987-95 series."

How Candace Cameron Got in Shape

As a kid, I was such a huge fan of the show Full House. I loved the oldest daughter, D.J. Tanner, played by Candace Cameron, because of her cool clothes and awesome '80s hair. I was surprised to hear she had insecurities about her weight. In an interview with US Weekly she recalls, "I felt chubby. I didn't fit into a lot of my wardrobe. I know it showed on TV." Candace also said, "There were never comments for me to lose weight, even when I was a few pounds heavier than everyone else on TV." Her older brother, Kirk Cameron starred in Growing Pains, and his costar, Tracey Gold suffered from an eating disorder. Candace's parents didn't want her to feel that kind of pressure, so they didn't encourage her to lose weight.

read more. In the photo on the left of her and Joey Lawrence in 1994, at her heaviest Candace weighed 132 pounds (which isn't a lot at all for someone who's 5'2"). Things changed though when she married NHL player Valerie Bure in 1996. After having three children, she decided to lose weight. Without a personal trainer or surgery, she dropped down to 110 pounds by exercising and eating less. Candace counts calories, eats tons of veggies and proteins, and lays off bread, pasta, and rice in the evenings. She enjoys wine and dessert, but not every day. In the Summer, she exercises on the beach with her hubby, running 40 minutes five days a week. In the Winter, she works out four days a week, mixing it up between Pilates and kickboxing group classes, playing tennis, bike riding, and rollerblading. It's great to see a celebrity taking care of herself by eating right and staying active. I came upon this video clip from an old episode of Full House where D.J. is upset about her weight, overexercises, and faints at the gym. It's great that these sort of issues were addressed, even though the ending is pretty unrealistic. Issues with weight don't just go away because your Daddy tells them to. Source

TV Tonight: Roasting Bob Saget

What do you get when a raunchy, dirty, frequently inappropriate TV event meets one of the raunchiest, dirtiest, most inappropriate comedians of a generation? Awesomeness - and a stomach that aches with pain from too much laughter. And that's why I'm not-so-secretly looking forward to tonight's roast of Bob Saget on Comedy Central.

If you haven't heard yet, Bob Saget is a major dirty perv of a comedian. His shtick can be uncomfortable, but I've seen him do it live, and it's mostly pretty funny. He has the kind of mouth my grandmother would wash out with soap. It's hilariously strange given what a clean-cut father figure he was to those of us who grew up watching him as Danny Tanner on Full House, the role that made him a household name.

Anyone on Full House is a pretty easy target for a roast like this because the show was so wholesome. However, news spread this week that some off-color jokes about the Olsen twins may have crossed the line (Saget himself said those jokes went a little too far). But that tiny controversy aside (and, really, what roast worth watching doesn't stir up controversy?) the whole thing looks pretty hysterical.

Tonight's show will also be a bit of a twofer as "roast master" John Stamos does not escape ridicule either, as you can see in some of the preview clips I've gathered. The roast airs tonight at 10 p.m. EDT and PDT. To see the clips, including an absolutely wonderful bit from the legendary Cloris Leachman that literally made me spit my drink out in laughter,

I honestly don't know what to say about this clip besides that it's just one of those amazing gems you happen across on the Web one day and are somehow able to tie into what you're doing (in this case, wedding coverage on the Sugar network). As the screengrab above suggests, the video after the jump is of Jesse (that's Uncle Jesse to you) on Full House singing to his lovely bride Rebecca (or, Becky) on their wedding day.

Not only is he joined - oh, yes - by a gospel choir, but there's also a sentimental slideshow of the two lovebirds, starting with baby pictures. It's just so amusing. I mean, honestly, could you see something like this being pulled off today? Even 7th Heaven no longer exists for things like this.
