Friday Night Lights Ends Tonight: Share Your Favorite Show Moments

Harry Potter isn't the only thing that's ending; Friday Night Lights is on its way out too, with its series finale airing tonight on NBC. Poetically, it finally nabbed that Emmy nomination for best drama series this week, but what I think is more meaningful is how passionate viewers of the show are. FNL's fan base is a devoted one, so to send the show off, I want to hear from you guys: what are your favorite moments and memories from Friday Night Lights?

Announcing the 2012 SAG Awards Nominees

The 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations are out this morning, and we're bringing you all the action - watch our streaming video of the SAG Awards announcement, which we're replaying all morning long. Judy Greer and Regina King were up bright and early in LA to do the honors, a few of which went to Judy's movie The Descendants. Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Leonardo DiCaprio are once again up against each other in the lead actor category, which should make for a fun race, though we were disappointed to see Ryan Gosling's name left off the list. Bridesmaids continues to rake in the early award-season love as well, with the cast and Melissa McCarthy both scoring nods. The Screen Actors Guild Awards air live on Jan. 29 at 8/7c on TNT.

In the TV category, we're excited to see the love for Game of Thrones, which is up against perennial favorites including Dexter and Breaking Bad. Steve Carell also has at least one more chance to win for The Office, and with tomorrow's Golden Globes nominations announcement, we'll see if he's recognized again.

At last week's Winter TCA, I checked out the panel for Shonda Rhimes's latest series Off the Map, about a group of young doctors who try to save lives in the South American rain forest. Afterward, I sat down with Friday Night Lights alum Zach Gilford, who plays one of the eager physicians, Tommy, a role that's a pretty far cry from football star Matt Saracen. We chatted about his new TV series vs. his old one, living in paradise to shoot Off the Map, and naturally, how often he'll be shirtless.

John Carter Trailer: Tim Riggins Is an Interplanetary Warrior

Friday Night Lights fans who have been missing the cast will be happy to see Taylor Kitsch starring in John Carter (formerly known as John Carter of Mars), an epic sci-fi adventure. Kitsch stars as the title character, a human Civil War veteran who gets transported to Mars, where the nations are warring against each other. He's initially a prisoner, but after impressing the alien locals with his considerable strength and talent for fighting fearsome creatures, Carter gets recruited to help fight on the side of the Martian nation of Barsoom, which happens to be headed up by Princess Dejah Thoris, (Lynn Collins), a scantily clad love interest.

Kitsch looks great with his bulging biceps adorned by very little battle attire, but the preview only manages to make the movie look like a knockoff of other films in the genre. From the plot to the appearance of the alien people and giant monsters, there's very little that seems original about John Carter (and come on, there's no way you can cover yourself in blue paint and not force a reference to Braveheart). Still, I'm happy to see Kitsch in the starring role of anything, and Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" playing over the trailer does make it feel a bit more exciting. Announcing the 2012 Grammy Award Nominations

For the second year in a row, the Recording Academy has given a hip-hop artist the most Grammy nominations. Last year, it was rapper Eminem with eight, and this year, Kanye West leads the nominees with seven chances at the golden gramophone, including a song of the year nod for "All of the Lights." West is also nominated twice in the rap album of the year category for his collaboration with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne and his own album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brit crooner Adele wasn't far behind Kanye, picking up six nominations for her album 21, as well as a shot at song of the year with "Rolling in the Deep."

Bruno Mars also did well, racking up six nominations (that's down one from last year for those keeping track), while newcomers like Nicki Minaj and dubstep artist Skrillex are up for the best new artist category. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Show PDA While Exploring Paris

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes shared a romantic Saturday wandering around Paris. The duo explored the city's Pere-Lachaise cemetery, where Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, and other notable figures are buried, and also checked out the underground Catacombs. Ryan and Eva continued their loved-up sightseeing later that night as they admired the Eiffel Tower lit up before eating at its second floor restaurant, the Jules Verne.

Ryan traveled to France on Friday to meet up with Eva, who's been filming Holly Motors in the City of Lights. They shared a few hugs between takes during his late night set visit. Ryan wrapped up his trip yesterday, and he was seen at the city's Charles de Gaulle Airport with Eva.
