Apparently, BuzzSugar readers love Clive Owen. He's neck and neck with Leonardo DiCaprio for the Hottest Actor Oscar, and he filled the Humphrey Bogart role in our Casablanca recast.
Apparently, we're not the only ones to draw a comparison between Bogie and the British hottie.

The same guys who brought us the Ice Age franchise are back to create another potential hit with the 3-D CGI Despicable Me. Seems like every animated movie nowadays wrangles A-list names, but the Despicable roster is even starrier than most. Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Mindy Kaling, Jack McBrayer — it's like a laundry list of my favorite comedy people.

Today's sequel news sort of makes my eyes roll: Men in Black 3 is coming, and Sony is bringing fresh blood to the franchise. The studio has roped in Etan Cohen of Tropic Thunder to write the script — even though neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones have signed on yet to star.
Not to be cruel, but the second MIB came out seven years ago — isn't Agent K getting kind of old to chase aliens?

Matt Damon is officially a Hollywood juggernaut. Not only does he have a ton of movies in the works (a Liberace biopic, an Eastwood film, and as of today a new project with the Coen brothers), and here's a peek at his upcoming thriller Green Zone. Even though I've been anxiously awaiting a fourth Bourne installment, Green Zone looks like a worthy substitute for the time being.

This week's Gossip Girl is all about public relations: good, bad, free, and the kind that costs you your relationships. It's a pretty entertaining episode, what with the characters decked out in their '20s Halloween finest for Chuck's new club Gimlet (which we sneaked a peek at last week) — not to mention seeing a clip from a vampire franchise that felt very familiar. Is this week's episode as good as last week's?

Talk about a shocker! The low-budget underdog Paranormal Activity has been riding its growing popularity all the way to the top — even upsetting the reigning king of horror, the Saw franchise. Paranormal took in $22 million in its first weekend with a wide release, which has execs talking about a possible sequel.

Last week I heard that Charlize Theron had dropped out of the spy thriller The Tourist, but the actress may already have something new up her sleeve. Apparently director George Miller has Theron in mind to take the lead in his fourth installment of the Mad Max franchise.
That's not the only news about the upcoming sequel — since Mel Gibson's supposedly too old to reprise his role, Miller has his eye on British actor Tom Hardy to take over.

Rumors have been swirling for the past week or so that Johnny Depp isn't as excited about Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides now that former head honcho Dick Cook has left Disney studios. Depp is still attached to the project for now, but supposedly Disney is already preparing to search for his replacement if necessary.
The character wouldn't be recast, but the new challenge will be finding an actor and fictional pirate worthy of Depp's Jack Sparrow.

Oh, Gerard Butler, what were you thinking? You might be able to forgive the 300 actor for starring in this horror flick disguised as a meaningful thriller, but he also served as producer to help finance the train wreck. Did he not even read the script?

It's Tuesday, which means your Netflix queue is about to get a bit fresher and longer. I've gone through today's new DVD and Blu-ray releases and have some recommendations for what you should rent next.
The Proposal
This Summer's super successful rom-com, The Proposal, stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in a pretty predictable scheme (you know, girl proposes to boy to avoid deportation), but I enjoyed this surprisingly funny movie.
