YouTube Adds In-Site Video Editor

The website just introduced an

The service is intended for quick fixes to videos already on the site and not as a general video editing tool. It allows the user to make changes to a video without the hassle of uploading new content or losing pageviews and comments. Rotate a video, stabilize shaky footage, adjust brightness and color levels, and add basic lens effects, like lomo or comic book. In traditional YouTube/Google form, the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button provides one-click overall color correction. Should you not like the edits, just revert back to the video's original uploaded settings.

Popular videos beware. Unfortunately, this feature is only available for videos with less than 1,000 views. Follow the break for YouTube's video introduction to in-site editing.

Ask Your Job Interviewer This, Not That

You should be prepared with relevant questions about the company, the job at hand, and your potential future with the organization. Keep your interview on the right track, and your foot out of your mouth, by asking questions the right way.

Behind the Scenes: Children of Men

Yesterday Children of Men received a number of Oscar nominations, including Achievements in Cinematography and Film Editing, both of which I think are fully deserved. Director Alfonso Cuaron has been lauded for the complicated, highly-choreographed scenes in the film that were shot without interruption - particularly a battle scene in which Clive Owen and four others are riding in a car and an angry mob descends upon them.

So I was excited to find a very cool behind-the-scenes clip that explains how they pulled off the remarkable sequence. With the help of a complex device surrounding the vehicle and a pivoting camera inside, the entire scene was filmed without any cuts. The amount of preparation and cooperation required of the cast and crew to time everything just right is tremendous. You'll see what I mean if you watch the video, so

George Clooney Gets Comfortable to Talk Descendants With The NYT

It was George's latest press stop as he makes the rounds to discuss his, and the movie's, many Oscar nominations. George is up for a best actor statue at the Academy Awards, which will take place later this month on Feb. 26. The Descendants is also in the running for best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, and best achievement in film editing. It's likely to be a good night for Alexander and the gang if they win in any category. The ceremony will offer George another chance to hang out with his buddy, and fellow nominee, Brad Pitt, as well as hit the red carpet with girlfriend Stacy Keibler.

Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill Rise Early For The Today Show

He's in the running to take home a best actor statue, while Jonah's up for his first-ever Academy Award as a best supporting actor. The picture's additionally in contention for best film of the year, best adapted screenplay, and best achievement in film editing.

The guys reminisced about working on Moneyball, and Jonah reflected on a particularly awesome prank Brad pulled. They've mentioned before that Brad tricked out Jonah's golf cart with George Michael paraphernalia, but more details were disclosed to Ann. Jonah spoke about the cart, which was rigged to play the song "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" when it turned on. He revealed, "If it was just that, that would be crazy. That would be annoying for me. But he also had it shrink-wrapped bright pink, like neon pink. And he had superimposed a picture of me and George Michael on the front that said, 'I'm Jonah Hill and I love Wham!' And then it had wedding noisemakers under the cart. And so I'd have a meeting with someone and I'd drive up in this insane, absurdly Liberace-style [thing]."

Some of our favorite "kids" books - that are just as relevant and enjoyable to read today - feature strong, multidimensional heroines who persevered despite being overlooked because of their size, age, and sex. These adventurous young women hold a special place in our hearts and minds, so let's take a look at some of the most inspiring 16-and-under heroines in literature.

The iPhone is now the most popular camera in the world, partly thanks to its small, portable, and discreet form. While you don't have much fine-tune control while you're shooting, you have lots of options when it comes to postprocessing apps to tweak and share your photos on the go. Below, a few ways you can use iPhoneography to your artful advantage, and some apps to download now.

Let your creative instincts guide you - Think of iPhoneography as a daily practice. Keep shooting and keep perfecting your craft. Since you'll want to be shooting throughout the day, collect moments that move you - whether it's colors, images, shapes, or scenes. Then, study your work over a period of time to find your true vision. It's also a great way to document your daily life and keep you connected to the practice of photography.

Craft your toolkit - Don't be shy about loading up your iPhone with photography apps. Learn about some of Stephanie's favorite apps after the break.

Announcing the 2012 Oscar Nominations!

The 2012 Oscar nominations have been announced! Lots of award season regulars, like The Artist and The Descendants, got some love, but there were also a handful of surprises, like nominations for Nick Nolte, Gary Oldman, and Terrence Malick. Bridesmaids also scored big, with noms for best original screenplay and best supporting actress for Melissa McCarthy.

The Academy chose nine films for best picture, with lots of familiar titles in there, plus a couple that had early awards buzz but haven't necessarily had consistent attention, like Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and The Tree of Life. The films that racked up the most nominations were Hugo with 11 and The Artist with 10.

To see the full list of nominations, just keep reading.

Whatever your age, it's likely the story of warring galaxies battling an evil Empire with something called "the Force" served as initiation to a lifetime of science fiction fandom.

George Lucas, the master behind the epic saga of good vs. evil in Star Wars recently gave an interview to the New York Times, in which he discussed his feelings towards devout Star Wars fans, and more about the popular films that made him a legend.

Blockbuster Retirement - After decades of involvement with pricey studio films, George is committing his cinematic focus to the more art-house, experimental filmmaking he worked on in film school and the years before Star Wars changed his life.

Indiana Jones 5 - Despite putting the star character in a refrigerator during the most recent Indiana Jones film to the audience's horror, Indiana Jones will make one more appearance on the big screen. Before he washes his hands entirely of Hollywood razzle-dazzle, George is contractually obligated to the fifth installation of the Indiana Jones story.

Star Wars Revisited - Considered by many fans an affront on their beloved films, the director's revision of an early Star Wars: A New Hope scene where Han Solo shoots bounty hunter Greedo in self defense was a necessary change, because it didn't blend with his view of Han as the saga's lasting hero.

On Fanboy Outrage - Further edits to the original Star Wars trilogy during the 1997 special edition release of the films left fans casting George to be just as much of a villain as a science fiction character. He now counters their criticism: ". . . My movie, with my name on it, that says I did it, needs to be the way I want it."

As George himself admits he's drawn to stories with "corn" and heroes at the forefront, it will be interesting to see how his future films follow the same themes of his big-budget work. Will you miss his blockbuster films?
