John Hughes' work is so far-reaching, he is still making news today despite having quit directing in 1991. The L.A. Times recently ran a story in which some of the most popular directors and actors today point to movies like Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and The Breakfast Club as movies that made an impact on them as artists.

What's almost worse than making remakes of beloved '80s films? Making sequels to beloved '80s films! Especially when it's a sequel to a John Hughes movie that might be made 21 years after the first one and probably won't be directed by Hughes himself.

Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie and the winner gets a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
This week's movie was clearly a beloved favorite for many of you — and it looks like you had a lot of fun thinking of new actors for Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Of course, nobody will ever be able to replace the mischievous Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, though I liked many of the choices, in particular the popular choice of Ryan Reynolds.
