Blake Lively Shows Her Soderbergh Support at the Haywire Premiere

Blake Lively was decked out in Dolce & Gabbana last night for the NYC premiere of Haywire. She's not in the movie, but leads Ewan McGregor and Gina Carano were there from the cast, along with director Steven Soderbergh. The picture hits theaters tomorrow on Jan. 20, and so far the Haywire reviews are great. Justin Bartha and Elizabeth Banks also rolled through to check out the screening, and joined the festivities at the afterparty, held at Sons of Essex.

Blake and Steven will work together soon, though. It was recently announced that Blake will star in Soderbergh's The Side Effects opposite Channing Tatum and Jude Law. For now, it's Gossip Girl that's Blake's main focus, as is her relationship with Ryan Reynolds.

Jewelry Brings Adriana Lima, Cate Blanchett, and Ewan McGregor Together in Geneva

Adriana Lima, Cate Blanchett, and Ewan McGregor were drawn to Geneva yesterday for the SIHH High Jewellery Fair. After browsing the watches and gems on display in the afternoon, the trio dressed up for the night's IWC Schaffhausen "Top Gun" gala. Adriana was decked out in Rene Caovilla shoes and a tight white dress that was met with approval from the guys - Ewan checked out Adriana, and was hilariously caught in the act! Adriana was happy to make the rounds with other stars like British actress Rosamund Pike, who will star opposite Tom Cruise in his upcoming One Shot. Also there was Brazilian author Paulo Coelho; Adriana tweeted about being particularly excited to meet him.

The Swiss trip comes just after an exciting week in LA for Ewan. He attended Sunday's Golden Globes, and was spotted making the afterparty rounds with wife Eve Mavrakis following the show. Ewan also attended last Wednesday's People's Choice Awards and did a great deal of press for his movie Haywire, which is out Friday. Ewan dished on the all-out fight scenes in the new Steven Soderbergh movie when we caught up with him at the junket one week ago.

Michelle Williams Toasts Her Big Win With "Punisher" Harvey Weinstein's Buddies

Michelle Williams clutched her best actress in a comedy or musical Golden Globe for My Week With Marilyn en route to the Weinstein Company's afterparty last night. She posed on the carpet withouth her best friend and date, Busy Philipps. The girls met up inside, though, and Busy later tweeted her happiness for Michelle. Busy wrote, "That was genuinely one of the most fun nights ever. So incredibly proud of my best friend!" Harvey Weinstein got shout-outs in mutiple acceptance speeches last night, being alternatively referred to as "the punisher," or in a memorable quip from Meryl Streep, as "God." Meryl was another winner who turned out for the company's event. She took home the best actress in a drama honor for The Iron Lady.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who's a close friend of Harvey's, caught up with his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman. Jason Statham, Rosie's boyfriend, was also there to share champagne with guys like Rob Lowe, Alexander Skarsgard, and Gerard Butler. Lots of stars and friends-of-the-famous rolled through the bash, including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and a Beverly Hills housewife. Nominees like Octavia Spencer, Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern, and winner Kelsey Grammer also stopped by - click through to see all the pictures!

Ewan McGregor plays a shady character in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, which is out next Friday on Jan. 20. He stars in the picture alongside MMA-fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano and happily got to exchange some jabs with her. His next movie out, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, pairs him with Emily Blunt. It's been a great year for the super hot Michael Fassbender, and 2012 is shaping up to be equally awesome. His next film to hit theaters is Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, which is out on January 20. Michael is one of the male leads, along with Channing Tatum and Ewan McGregor, in the picture about a rogue black ops soldier. Michael's also front and center in the new Prometheus trailer, which sees him and Charlize Theron teaming up for Ridley Scott's Alien prequel planned for a June release. George and Stacy Arrive Together For Michelle Williams's Big Hollywood Night

George Clooney had lady friend Stacy Keibler on his arm last night to attend the 15th annual Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The couple are fresh off a stint in Europe, where Stacy joined George for the Paris premiere of The Ides of March and a London screening of The Descendants. She represented her favorite football team with her purple Maria Lucia Hohan gown. Stacy tweeted, "Wearing my Ravens purple to the Hollywood Film Awards. . . Will have to keep checking the score on my phone." This was another big evening for George, who accepted the Hollywood Actor Award from his Descendants costar Beau Bridges.

Many more of George's fellow actors were honored, including Michelle Williams, who looked gorgeous in a black strapless Nina Ricci number. Michelle Williams accepted the Hollywood Actress Award once the show began, and later met up with her best friend Busy Philipps. However, Michelle was solo on the red carpet, and we caught a minute with her. She flew to California from the Michigan set of Oz: The Great and Powerful, and her daughter Matilda has been there to see the filming. Michelle said of the kid-friendly picture, "This one's for Matilda." Michelle shared room on the press line with other lovely ladies like a Pucci-clad Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Emma Stone in Jonathan Saunders, and Carey Mulligan in Bottega Veneta. Kate Bosworth Does a Fashionable Day Date With Her Man Michael Polish, Olivia Wilde, and Busy Philipps

Kate Bosworth, wearing Proenza Schouler's Spring/Summer 2012 collection, joined boyfriend Michael Polish, Olivia Wilde, Busy Philipps, and Dianna Agron at Vogue's 2011 CFDA Fashion Fund finalist celebration at LA's Chateau Marmont yesterday. Kate and Michael have been constant companions over the past few months, and in addition to their romantic trip to France he also recently accompanied her to a taping of Chelsea Lately. Olivia chose a flirty floral dress for the cocktail reception then changed into a sexy black Yigal Azrouël gown for her red-carpet arrival at last night's In Time premiere.

Busy selected a trendy mint wrap dress for the event and recently told us she's considering recycling last year's homemade Tinkerbell costume for Halloween for her big night of trick-or-treating with daughter Birdie. Fresh off her win at last weekend's Scream Awards, newcomer Chloe Moretz was also on hand for the soiree as were Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss and actress Michelle Monaghan.

Steven Soderbergh's new film Haywire (previously known as Knockout) boasts a cast of well-known actors like Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, and Channing Tatum, but its central character is virtually unknown - unless you follow the world of mixed martial arts. MMA star Gina Carano has her first film role in Haywire as Mallory Kane, a former black-ops officer who was betrayed by her colleagues and has to go on the run. In her personal mission to figure out why she was sold out, she gets to beat the living crap out of those who are trying to stop her, like Fassbender and Tatum.

The trailer is action-heavy, and though I'm not super into fight scenes, it's intense to see Carano getting to go head-to-head and best the boys. The trailer was revealed at Comic-Con, but you can get a look at it when you

Ewan McGregor and Mike Mills Tell Us the Lessons They Learned Filming Beginners

In the movie Beginners, out last Friday in limited release, we meet Oliver, played by Ewan McGregor, after the death of his mother and then again after the death of his father. His mother's passing prompts his 70-something father Hal (Christopher Plummer) to come out as a homosexual man determined to dive into LA's gay culture and experience everything he missed while in the closet. Soon Hal finds out he has terminal cancer, but he's set on continuing his new life like he never got the diagnosis. The movie follows in parallel Hal's final years, as well as his son Oliver's life after Hal dies. Once the father he was just getting to know is gone, Oliver is shrouded in a cloud of grief. He meets Anna (Melanie Laurent), a French actress, and we see him struggle to let himself fall in love.

I recently had the chance to interview Ewan McGregor and Mike Mills, the movie's writer and director. Beginners is based on Mike's experience with his own father, who came out of the closet after his mother passed away. Here's what they told me they learned while making a film about love, loss, and the promise of new beginnings.

Humor can help you break free from difficult circumstances. Mike describes what he learned through his parents' subversive sense of humor: "I think in my family humor has been used as a way to get out of different boxes. The box of being in a hospital, the box of being in a sad situation. It’s a way to dismantle the rules that are holding you down."

It's liberating to speak a different language. "For Melanie [Laurent] acting in English for the first time," Ewan recalls, "she said she felt this incredible sense of freedom because she wasn’t acting in French. She was like a live wire, all over the room. You never knew what she was going to do next."

You can still learn from and connect to your late family members. Mike said that his mother knew his dad was gay and was "a super complicated Humphrey Bogart of a woman." He says making the movie helped him unpack the complexities of both of his parents: "I really enjoyed writing from their perspectives. Sometimes when I watch the movie, I kind of feel my dad. I don’t think Christopher is my dad, but I kind of feel my dad or like I’m talking to my dad about what Christopher’s doing. And I cherish that."

Sexuality is only one part of what makes each person who they are. Ewan, who has appeared in various movies dealing with gay themes, explained, "I think there’s a mistake that’s made when you’re playing a homosexual character that you’re playing a gay character. No, you’re playing a character. That’s it. You're playing a character who likes to sleep with men. They’re whole human beings. So sexuality would be a part of that."

Anyone can surprise you. Ewan says Christopher Plumber "became a skinny jean connoisseur. He looked all right in them."
