James Van Der Beek and Roy From The Office Cast in Fox Pilot

Ever since Joshua Jackson found his way back to television, I've been waiting to see where James Van Der Beek would land next. Here's our answer: He's been picked to star on Fox's pilot Eva Adams. David Denman, maybe best known as Pam's ex-fiance from The Office, will costar.

The description of the pilot sounds . . . well, I'll let The Hollywood Reporter take it:

The hour-long project, from writer/executive producer Kevin Falls and Sony TV, is set at a sports agency and centers on Adam, an egotistic sexist agent who, under a witch's spell, turns into a beautiful woman so he can endure the harassment he's been dishing out.

Yeah, you really got to watch out for those sex change witches.

Anyway, Van Der Beek will play Connor, an agent, former frat boy, and good friend of Adam's. Denman's character is Paul, "a single dad reeling from a devastating divorce."

It's the second sports-themed pilot in a row for Van Der Beek; ABC's Football Wives wasn't picked up a couple of seasons ago. Don't think there were any witches in that one, though, so maybe that will make all the difference. What do you think?

Check Out the 2012 People's Choice Nominations Before the Show Airs Tonight!

The People's Choice Awards are tonight, so now's your chance to get a good look at who's up for the trophies. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is dominating the movie categories, especially since there was no Twilight film eligible for this year's awards (though Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson still earned nods because they appeared in other movies). Vampires are still big at the PCAs, at least for the TV categories - The Vampire Diaries and its stars are all over this list. On the subject of the small screen, the awards have brought in another distinction for television: network shows and cable series are now separated (and fan favorite Game of Thrones pops up for its first season).

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling got flirtatious as they shot The Gangster Squad yesterday in LA. Emma kissed Ryan and played coy under a parasol as the pair filmed the period piece. Ryan got some love from a four-legged bulldog costar as well. Emma and Ryan are teaming up for the second time on the big screen, having already played a couple in Crazy, Stupid, Love earlier this year. Ryan and Emma looked every bit in love when they were in character yesterday, but when the cameras stop rolling, it's another of his costars that Ryan seems to be pursuing a real romance with - Eva Mendes. Ryan and Eva were spotted hiking in LA over the weekend after taking a romantic date to Disneyland earlier in the month. The two have been linked since they worked together on The Place Beyond the Pines, and Eva isn't the first costar that Ryan has dated. He was also with his The Notebook leading lady Rachel McAdams for several years, and struck up a love affair with Sandra Bullock after they worked on Murder by Numbers, both of whom Ryan has gushed about in recent interviews.

Ryan Gosling puffed on a cigarette with the pack tucked into his pants as he shot a scene on the set of The Gangster Squad in LA on Friday. He was joined by his costars Josh Brolin and Michael Pena for the day of work on their new mob drama set in the 1940s and '50s. Ryan has been going nonstop this Summer between promoting Drive, The Ides of March, and Crazy, Stupid, Love and shooting new projects like this one and The Place Beyond the Pines. This film will bring Ryan back together with Emma Stone, though he's rumored to be currently romantic with another costar, Eva Mendes, who he was spotted with at Disneyland earlier this month. Ryan's gritty, violent movie Drive is out this weekend to a largely positive reception - check out BuzzSugar's Drive review - and while doing press at TIFF, Ryan revealed his sweet side.
