Hilary Swank Buys Up Rights to Something Borrowed

Soon, author Emily Giffin will find something of hers borrowed for the big screen - her stories. Hilary Swank and her producing partner Molly Smith have bought the rights to Giffin's popular novels Something Borrowed and Something Blue, and they may end up being "starring vehicles" for Swank. We were just talking about these producing partners and another book-to-movie deal that may star Swank: French Women Don't Get Fat. That Hilary Swank! She keeps busy.

Variety explains that Something Borrowed follows "a Manhattan attorney who becomes involved with her best friend's fiance following her 30th birthday." Something Borrowed is my favorite of all of Giffin's books (it even inspired a Buzzworthy Challenge way back when) so I really hope they don't mess this up! Along the same lines, I don't really envision Swank in this role. At all. I might be on a Rebecca Hall kick after seeing her in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, but I really think she'd be a better fit. Or. . .anyone else. What do you think? Have you read Giffin's books?

Source and source

What's Buzzworthy? Wedding and Marriage Novels

Last week the USA premiered their summer series "The Starter Wife" which was based on the popular novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer about a woman who married into a hip Hollywood lifestyle that she's forced to leave behind when her husband cheats on her.

It makes me think of another marriage-themed book I read recently, Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin, in which the main characters' love triangle threatens to shake up an engagement. The book is funny and self-deprecating, and each of the characters learns something about him/herself in the end, which seems to often be the case in novels about weddings or marriage.

Thus, this week's Buzzworthy challenge is to bookmark the novels or memoirs specifically about marriage or weddings that you find most arresting (and no, they do not have to be happy stories). The tag to use when bookmarking your choices is wedding books, but please don't bookmark your favorite planners!

Using BuzzSugar's cool Buzzworthy bookmarking tool, find your favorite books on the Web and tag or title them with the phrase wedding books. Then, I'll post some readers' choices next week.

To find out how to create a Buzzworthy bookmark, read more

Don't worry: TeamSugar makes it easy to bookmark and capture anything on the Web that you consider "Buzzworthy." If you already have a "That's Fab" button on your browser's tool bar, you can use that to bookmark your Buzzworthy items. If you don't have the TeamSugar bookmarking button on your toolbar, you can learn how to get it by watching this video.
