Though he's had an amazing film and TV career and an incredible run on Dexter as Professor James Gellar, geeks everywhere will know Edward James Olmos best as their beloved Commander William Adama from Battlestar Galactica. The Commander always gave insightful advice, even if he didn't always make the best decisions in the eyes of the fleet. In celebration of EJO's 65th birthday today (and his portrayal of one of our favorite sci-fi characters), we're taking a look back at some of Adama's wisest words. So say we all.

Eva, Salma and Selena Are ALMA Awards Beauties

Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria and Selena Gomez were three of the gorgeous women dressed in their best for the 2009 ALMA Awards in LA last night. Eva Longoria showed off tons of costume changes as she played host for the third year in a row and this time was joined by George Lopez. Selena Gomez took home a statue for Television Comedy Actress and twittered about her fun night. Salma Hayek, who totally looked like a blast from her past in the headband and short sexy dress, was honored with the Anthony Quinn Award for General Excellence. Salma's BFF Penelope actually won as well but wasn't in the house to accept. The show airs tonight featuring performances from David Archuleta, Nelly Furtado and more.

Another Trailer for Your Consideration: Beverly Hills Chihuahua

We've discussed some of the big trailers that premiered over the weekend, and now I would like to point your attention to another little summer movie preview hitting the Web.

I think there are several ways to approach the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua (previously known as South of the Border): with excitement (singing dogs!), dread (what the heck is going on in Hollywood?), or wonderment at the jaw-droppingly ridiculous fact that this thing is happening. I've chosen the last approach because this thing is just so funny to me.

Not that you'll get any of this from the preview, but the movie's plot is summed up by IMDB as such: "While on vacation in Mexico, Chloe, a ritzy Beverly Hills chihuahua, finds herself lost and in need of assistance in order to get back home."

There are a bunch of celebrities lending their voices to this canine bonanza, including Drew Barrymore (Chloe), Salma Hayek, Edward James Olmos, Andy Garcia, and Cheech Marin. Of course, I'd only subject you to something like this on Cinco de Mayo, as you're probably more likely to be in the mood for this little song and dance number on a holiday. Dexter Premieres Tonight - Get a Peek at Season Six

Dexter returns for its sixth season tonight, bringing along a couple of new faces. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) had some close calls last season, and this time around he'll be protecting his identity from the likes of Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos along with the usual crowd.
