Taylor Swift Captivates Costars Zac, Ed, Danny, and Rob at The Lorax Premiere

The orange carpet was rolled out in Hollywood yesterday for the world premiere of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. Two of the film's stars, Zac Efron and Taylor Swift, in an Honor dress, shared a big hug before making their way down the press line. Ed Helms hit the event solo, but met up with the star of the 3D animated movie, the Lorax himself, for pictures. Danny DeVito brought his family along, and Betty White, who voices the part of Zac's grandmother, was all smiles.

We recently sat down with the cast at the LA junket, where Ed hinted about an Office spinoff starring Rainn Wilson and his friendly rivalry with Taylor. Zac touched on his other upcoming projects, The Lucky One and The Paperboy, before giving us his best Matthew McConaughey impression. It was Taylor's first movie junket, but she seemed like a total pro. She described for us the differences between making music vs. acting, and talked with great excitement about her upcoming album. Taylor couldn't reveal an exact release date for the record, but did say it will have a "different" sound.

Jeff, Who Lives at Home Trailer: Jason Segel Gets Sort of Serious

In Jeff, Who Lives at Home, the latest film from the Duplass brothers (the filmmakers behind The Puffy Chair and Cyrus), Jason Segel stars as Jeff, a philosophizing stoner who (quite literally) lives at home in his mother's (Susan Sarandon) basement. Jeff is constantly looking for signs from the universe, and on one particular day, he bumps into his brother (Ed Helms), who has a very different outlook on life. In a series of unexpected and unfortunate events, the two try their best to make sense of what's happening all around them.

Segel is playing his standard lovable goofball role, but in this case he's got such a strong, and perhaps warped, sense of self-awareness that it's debilitating. We're curious as to how he'll tackle this somewhat darker role. The ladies in the supporting cast, Judy Greer and Sarandon, are also amazing and taking on similarly heartfelt roles, so we can't wait to see where the Duplass brothers go with this one.

The Office returned for its latest season last week with a few changes, including Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) taking over the managerial position vacated by Michael Scott (Steve Carell). Helms joined Paul Lieberstein, who writes for the show in addition to playing human resources manager Toby Flenderson, to talk with reporters about why Andy was the right man for the job. The pair also filled us in on how Andy will deal with Dunder Mifflin's intimidating new CEO Robert California (James Spader), his on-again, off-again girlfriend Erin (Ellie Kemper), and his soon-to-debut brother, who will be played by guest star Josh Groban.

Why did you decide that Andy should be the new manager?
Paul Lieberstein: Well, there are a lot of aspects to the Andy Bernard character to make him extremely suited to manager. One, I think, it's that he cares about people more than he does about the product. Of course, he wants the place to run successfully. Andy is really caring and empathetic. Any little problem that anybody's having, he would feel very deeply, which makes him very suited to be a comic lead in the show. And his stories are a generator. One of the things we're most delighted about is how Andy manages upward - how both scared he is and courageous he is at the very same time when dealing with Robert California.

NBC Toasts Its Fall Lineup With John, Jenna, Rashida, and Many More Stars

The stars of NBC's shows, both old and new, gathered last night in LA to toast the upcoming season. Some actors from perennial hits of the network like Community and The Office welcomed the newcomers. Joel McHale horsed around with his costar Alison Brie, while John Krasinski and Ed Helms played together on the carpet. Rashida Jones will be back in Parks and Recreation, while Yvonne Strahovski and Zachary Levi will bring more Chuck. Christina Applegate is set to have her debut in just a few weeks when Up All Night airs, and another premiering program, The Playboy Club, was represented by its leading ladies Jenna Dewan and Amber Heard. Jenna and Amber were fresh from a TCA panel, where they discussed how The Playboy Club is different from Mad Men despite their sharing a '60s-era setting. Also, NBC's Fall premiere schedule was announced yesterday. Parenthood is the first to air on Sept. 13, with more debuts coming weekly until October. The Hangover Part II: A Less Funny Morning After

The expectations for the sequel to The Hangover really couldn't have been higher, considering how beloved the original is. Before you see the film, I advise that you severely lower the bar for The Hangover Part II, because it is, unfortunately, a shadow of its predecessor. In the second film, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Doug (Justin Bartha) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) are headed to a wedding and want to have one last bachelor party hurrah before one of them gets married. Sound familiar? It should. The plot is exactly the same as the first movie.

Sure, there are some tweaks. This time, it's Stu that's getting married, and the boys are all headed to Thailand for the event. When the guys decide to have a low-key night before the wedding, they toast their beer bottles . . . and then wake up the next morning in Bangkok with absolutely no memory of the previous evening. They spend the rest of the movie piecing together the details of the night so they can locate a missing member of their group.

The Hangover Part II is a retread that's so close to the original, you wonder if the writers doubted its audience's intelligence or were just too lazy to come up with something new. Either way, the movie and its signature wolf pack still get laughs, but it's lacking the magic that made the original Hangover an instant classic. To see what else I thought, just

I was eager to see the wolf pack reunite, but it would have been nice to see some character development. Instead, the sequel only exaggerates the personalities of the men. Phil is more obnoxious, Alan is even more awkward and eccentric, and so on. Chow (Ken Jeong) is the only character that's more entertaining the second time around. More of a friend than villain in this film, Jeong mercilessly steals every scene he's in. With everyone else stuck in the same mold, Jeong's distinction and nonchalant comedic performance make him the standout.

One way The Hangover Part II surpasses the first film is in the gross-out humor. Clearly the filmmakers felt pressure to top themselves, and in the sequel they succeed to the point of discomfort. That dirty feeling is pervasive. Where the first film was a bit dark, it was also balanced with some lightness - the guys could at least laugh a little about their antics. But in Part II, the more we learn about what they got up to the night before, the less we want to know. You feel as filthy as they do, and the grimy backdrop of Bangkok's more depraved establishments contributes to that effect.

The setting, the repercussions of the night before, and the stakes of the missing person all plunge you into a movie that doesn't always feel like a comedy. Everything gets worse before it gets better, and the "better" part, the ending, still left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Ultimately, it's just another sequel that tries for its predecessor's greatness and falls far short.

The stars and director Todd Phillips had their first screening event last week on the West Coast, and made a stop in NYC for another showing earlier this week. Bradley managed to swing by SNL during his stay in the Big Apple, and joined host Justin Timberlake for the afterparty with Olivia Wilde. Bradley and Olivia were spotted sharing an intimate chat during the soiree, fueling rumors that they're dating.

The Hangover Part II is out this week, and Warner Bros. has released these of one-sheets featuring the famous Wolfpack. The banners are strikingly similar to the posters that were released to promote the first movie, which doesn't come as a surprise considering the trailer for The Hangover Part II seems to be following the original formula pretty closely. Still, it's fun to compare and contrast, so check out how the guys look then and now!

The cast of The Hangover Part II got together with their director, Todd Phillips, for a screening of the comedy in NYC yesterday. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis made the trip east following the premiere of their film in LA last week, and they kept the fun coming with an afterparty at the Top of the Standard. Something Borrowed's Colin Egglesfield was there to show his support as was a pregnant Ivanka Trump, who tweeted that the movie was "hilarious." Also on hand were Victoria's Secret models Alessandra Ambrosio and Selita Ebanks, enjoying a funny break from their recent press for the lingerie brand. The sequel comes out on Friday, just in time for Memorial Day weekend, and early The Hangover Part II reviews seem to suggest that it's worth taking a trip to the theater between your BBQs and beach games.
