I feel compelled to write about this movie news largely because it's one of the funnier titles I've come across in a while. This modern-day, high school-set re-imagining of The Scarlett Letter just cast Emma Stone in the Hester Prynne-type lead role. And the movie is titled Easy A.

Easy Virtue, a film adaptation of Noel Coward's jazzy 1920s-set play, pits the old traditions of Europe's landowning gentry against the brash modernity that America had come to symbolize. The old guard is represented by a wealthy British family led by the brittle matriarch Mrs. Whittaker (Kristin Scott Thomas). When her son, John Whittaker (Ben Barnes), marries a sexy race car driver named Larita (Jessica Biel) several years his elder, the entire family is thrown into a tizzy.

After a month-long hiatus for House (and a Cuddy-centric episode), the Princeton-Plainsboro team returns this week to shed light on another mysterious case. I waited in anticipation to see what they'd cook up after time off, but dare I say, I'm somewhat let down. Not that the night didn't have storyline gems, but the patient plot of an over-sharing blogger (Laura Prepon) feels like the show is trying too hard to tap into the 21st century.

When you're thrown into the middle of a Tim Burton film — opposite an A-lister like Johnny Depp, no less — it's easy to feel overwhelmed. It's easy to cast an odd couple in a movie, counting on their unexpected pairing for the initial draw. For Cop Out, that couple is Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, a seasoned action vet and a live-wire comic. It's an inspired pair, and though there are some laughs in this caper, there's also a lot of laziness that makes this movie .

These days, it seems like every actor in Hollywood is game to voice an animated character. And why not? It's easy (a lot of them even do it from their homes), it doesn't usually take a ton of time, and kids' movies usually make bank at the box office.

It's Tuesday, which means I've got lots of entertainment-related goodies to share with you. This morning I gave you some advice on what to add to your Netflix queues, and now it's time to make your ears happy with three new music releases.
Thrice as nice: Clocking in at over two hours and spanning over three discs, Joanna Newsom's Have One on Me isn't just an album — it's an undertaking.

Even though I love talking exhaustively about Lost and The Vampire Diaries, there are plenty of other shows I watch but don't get to do a recap on. Since so many series premiered this year, I'll be checking in periodically to chat about what's going on with those that aren't in my usual roster. Today's show: Cougar Town.
