What do The Hills, Fringe, and The Mentalist have in common? They've all been honored with spots at this year's Paley Television Festival in Los Angeles.
This year's lineup for the festival seems like an especially eclectic group of shows — there's reality, there's online (Dr.

I would have posted this yesterday when the first act of Joss Whedon's online musical series was available online except for the fact that it wasn't actually available for most of the day. All the fans (like me) who were lured in by the funny preview for the series were trying to view the first webisode, and too many curious eyes caused the site to slow to a halt.
Now it's working fine and it is my pleasure to announce that Act I of this funny, bizarre musical starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion is awesome.

Joss Whedon + Neil Patrick Harris + Nathan Fillion = awesome and hilarious. But of course, we already knew Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog would probably be great even back in March when we first heard the news.

So we've already heard the news that Joss Whedon, the man responsible for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is hitting television again this Fall with Dollhouse, a Fox series starring Eliza Dushku. The Dark Knight's crazy box office success translated into a whole bundle of People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night. The film took home the trophies for Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, and Favorite Cast, and Christian Bale also won Favorite Superhero and part of the Favorite On-Screen Matchup award (shared with the late Heath Ledger).
Carrie Underwood was another big winner of the night, taking home three awards — including the Favorite Star Under 35 trophy.

- You guys, it was kind of nuts keeping up with this insane week in pop culture. Not that I'm complaining — it was awesome! Anyway, first and foremost The Dark Knight — one of the greatest movies I've seen in a long while — premiered this week, and to prepare us all I crafted a movie night based on the director's past work and tested you on your Batman knowledge.
- Meanwhile, the TCA press tour rolls on, giving us mountains of information about some of my favorite TV shows, including thoughts on Fringe from JJ Abrams, a panel with the Damages cast, clarification (kinda) from Shonda Rhimes on Kathterine Heigl's statements about Grey's writing, and so much more.
- Oh, and then the primetime Emmy nominations were announced and I broke all that down.

Earlier today, I told you about some of the greatest moments from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion at the Paley Festival in Los Angeles. There were so many good moments (and a few awkward ones) that they couldn't fit in one post, so here are a few more of the highlights:
- Please, everyone, do me a favor. If ever you get a chance to ask a question at a panel like this, don't make it "Could you all tell me your favorite movies and what's on your iPod?"
